Welcome!

Too early to tell at this point, but I will tell you the beta ran really well on my C2D 2.0 Ghz/4GB 6400 DDR2/nVidia 9600GT with 512 MB VRAM/Windows 7 RC1/17" laptop at 1440x900....

As soon as the game matures, I will be able to reveal more. All I know is the just completed beta screams on my desktop with the ATI 4870X2 on my 28" Viewsonic at 1920x1200 @ 55-60 fps on the highest graphical settings.

Thanks again, that gives me a better idea of how the game will run. Sadly it doesn't look good as I have an aging 7900GTO and a E6750 C2D running my desktop.

It appears from that article that TW 10 for the PC is just going to use the 3 click swing. Am I missing something? Also the beta tester mentioned that it was a wee bit laggy in the beginning. I hope EA irons that out as they potentially could have 100K playing this game at the same time.

Does the PC version allow for any offline play without having to sign in to the EA server?

Yes. From the article;
The traditional 3-click swing as our only swing option for this beta, but it has been confirmed that True Swing will be in the final product.

I was considering a Wii for TW10 but decided to just go with the 360 version. I couldn't find any serious hands on with the Wii version. I only saw a few vids on how it worked. It looks great but if its going to be too easy I'm not going to jump on the Wii bandwagon.

Yeah, I'm with you. With so many different versions available, I'm a bit lost as to which one to get!

I guess I have a few more days to figure it out at least. Hmmm.

For me it was just the opposite, the decision was quite easy. I still love the golf game in Wii Sports and TW 10 will duplicate that and with better graphics along with a 1:1 controller. Easy choice for me.

Now if Natal were out and TW 360 was using it (maybe TW11 360) then i'd easily go with the 360. This year it's the TW 10 Wii bundle because i'm paying $6.99 more for motion plus. (Amazon.com or Newegg.com preorder $56.99 and free shipping)

In the beginning of the beta, yes. By the time it ended 10 days later, the lag was gone and load times between holes went from 10-20 seconds per hole down to 1-2 seconds per hole the final two days. This streaming technology is pretty damn impressive.

No is the answer to your last question. Strictly an online game.

1-2 seconds between holes is acceptable for an online game also good to hear they fixed the lag in the game as that would be a game killer.

I have another question which may have been answered. Does the subscription carry over to say TW 11 and will players be able to go back to TW 10 if they so choosed?

I just am interested to see if this will be able to compete with World Golf Tour because I'm really liking where that is going.

One to two seconds is faster than TW08 for PC, much less online through a browser.

TW for PC is called TW Online, not TW10, so I do not see any TW11 for the PC version at this time....I have no details regarding the cost or subscription fees yet....

Divot.....So when will we be able to try the Beta?

About World Tour Golf......it looks amazing, but I hate the swing mechanic/interface. It gets boring quickly for me. The meter reminds me of my cell phone bowing game.

Probably in a few weeks when they next Beta period is announced. If you were accepted, you should get an email from EA just before the next one starts with instructions on how to get logged in....

No reviews of TW 10 for the Wii yet? Does anyone else find that a little concerning? Doesn't this game release on Monday or Tuesday? I would have thought for sure we'd have a review from somewhere....

Good point. Definitely picking the TW bundle for the Wii along with one of the tennis games, most likely EA's. I'm hoping by Monday we'll hear something about TW.

Although it was just a demo, the 360 version just gave me the hmm feeling even with the improved putting. Right now I think I'll be going for the novelty of the Wii motion and the extra courses although Live has me always interested as well.

I wish I had access to a solid review for the Wii. If I read that it played a solid sim I might pull the trigger but as of now I have a 360 pre-order. Maybe one will come out this weekend.

Going with the 360 version....I just don't have any fun playing games on the Wii. Ours has basically become a TV ornament!

We have exactly the opposite issue in our house. My wife recently asked what that other "white" box was sitting next to the Wii and did we still need it hooked up to the TV. :)

I have TW10 and Grand Slam Tennis on order for Wii this week.

Disc golf will be the first area I will play when the game comes out. I have been looking very forward to see how the Wii MotionPlus performs. I'm pure crap throwing a real frisbee so hopefully the new control sensitivity isn't modeled too accurately.
