EA would do that too.bdoughty wrote:It does mention the UFC exclusive but what about the individual fighters? I did not see that mentioned. They could go out and pay for a bunch of individual fighters and wait for the license to end.

The BBC is saying the PS3 Slim will be released later this year instead of being announced at E3.

Absolutely NO way that will work as advertised. Just not possible. I'm just not sure what to say about what I just saw. Wow
I thought "cool" when I watched, but I can't help feeling it may be overhyped. Recall last year when Microsoft Lips got a lot of hype about being able to use any song, but that fell flat on its face...
But that thing with the boy and taking the note and then moving the water. Imagine the MMO that could be made.

Eh I don't know, it looks like watch those cute chicks use it will worth the pricey of admission...Spooky wrote:Absolutely NO way that will work as advertised. Just not possible. Don't get me wrong...I'd love for it to be successful and work as advertised. But I am betting that the first batch of games will be awful and the second wave not much better and it will flop.Danimal wrote:I really hope you're wrong but I am willing to bet you're not.Spooky wrote: Absolutely NO way that will work as advertised. Like the uh, Eye Toy? Gimmick peripheral that had a couple of lousy games.Spooky wrote:Don't get me wrong...I'd love for it to be successful and work as advertised. The 360 dashboard "features section" has another trailer showing actual gameplay. 2 words: Rooftop Concert!Spooky wrote:Wow! No sh*t. That was cool.Leadfoot5 wrote:The Beatles:Rock Band E3 Trailer has got to be one of the best trailers I've ever seen for a video game. Well done.

Even if we assume the technology works flawlessly, will holding an imaginary steering wheel ever 'feel right,' as opposed to an actual wheel you grip with your hands and get force feedback? Will gas/braking work believably?
I've also heard that you can use props, such as just holding a stick and swinging it like a golf club and the system can detect your swing. How will that compare to Tiger Woods Wii with Wii Motion+? Will come of the worse I suspect.
I think it seems very cool, but Wii has been a big disappointment for me, and until I see full games providing an experience above and beyond that possible through 25+ years of controller evolution I remain slightly skeptical.
The camera thingy was impressive, if it's to be believed, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. More to the point...
Crackdown 2, Modern Warfare 2, L4D2 (CHAINSAWS!)-who gives a @#$% about cameras?!?!?!?

I'm with you on this, Naples. I mean, waving my hand around to cycle through images certainly doesn't seem more efficient then pressing left or right on a d-pad or analog stick.Naples39 wrote:...until I see full games providing an experience above and beyond that possible through 25+ years of controller evolution I remain slightly skeptical.
Also, (though I do bike while gaming sometimes) most of the time I game I'm chilling out, hoping to relax a little, and it's often late at night with the rest of the family asleep. I don't want to be gaming like this:

Yeah, that's not my cup 'o' tea, either, most of the time. I think it would work as a great addition to a controller, but not as a replacement. The thing with me and a controller is, if the game is good enough, I forget that I have a controller in hand.webdanzer wrote:I'm with you on this, Naples. I was much more intrigued by what Molyneaux showed off than the 'cat on a hot tin roof' calisthenics of the girl in the gif-that just sort of annoyed me. I liked the 'painting' thing, too. But if I want to play basketball and get a workout, I'll go outside and shoot hoops.

There are some games on the Wii that are great with non-traditional controllers. All the light-gun style games are great. Currently playing Madworld which couples in nicely with motion control. Boom Blox is also a champ at this. Smart motion control is good. Gimmicky stuff? Not so good...Naples39 wrote:I think it seems very cool, but Wii has been a big disappointment for me, and until I see full games providing an experience above and beyond that possible through 25+ years of controller evolution I remain slightly skeptical.

The camera isn't targeted at us pers say but any game that can get me off the couch is good by me.
EA Sports Active is my new addiction and that thing sold 600k in 2 weeks. Imagine something like that with no controllers.
Anyway enough on the camera, L4D2 is looking good.

Nintendo can bore itself all the way to the bank, considering it dominates the sales charts. Somebody out there must like the Big N's stuff.
The new Wii Fit Plus and Metroid games will fly off the shelves. The pulse detector looks odd, but I like the Wii MotionPlus add-on. It should address some of the motion-detection accuracy issues present in many current Wii sports games.
If Wii MotionPlus could recognize punches in a boxing game instantly, I would buy that game in a nano-second. There's way too much lag between your physical movement and the action on the screen in Wii Sports boxing and Punch-Out, which hurts both games for me.
The upcoming Gladiator title for Wii is supposed to use Wii MotionPlus, which could make that a really cool, violent fighting game with a historic theme. Definitely not one for the kiddies.
Take care,
PK

I have no doubt there will be a boxing game that will utilize the motion plus feature well. It's a no brainer. I betcha anything that EA has a Fight Night in the works for the motion plus.pk500 wrote:Nintendo can bore itself all the way to the bank, considering it dominates the sales charts.
