Rodster wrote:Actually you should consider getting a Wii just for TW. It would be good for you to test out TW next year on the Wii as many on this forum owns a Wii and will have questions for you.

Also as much as your into Golf which you probably play in real life it's good to get a different perspective when using the Wii controller to hit the ball. ;)

We need guys like you who interface with EA directly to make the game better for all, IMO.
Rodster,

It all boils down to having time to play....my play time the past 5 years has dwindled to almost nothing since I started working in West Africa....I'll continue to try to get EA to improve TW and with feedback like I get here and other forums, it should continue to improve if EA keeps reaching out to the user communities like they have this year...

It was a 360 video....but I have played the Wii version back in February and the putting is really good IMO....especially with the Wiimote Plus

I am pretty sure that I will be getting the 360 version although the Wii motion plus has me very intrigued. For those that play Golf regularly, I guess this is a must buy, to see how one swings at the ball, how I can draw or fade a ball with the motion plus. Can this controller help perhaps my real life swing?

But if I get up getting the Wii for my nephew & niece does the motion plus has some sort of handicap for those people that don't play regularly the sport? In other words will some people get frustrated because the motion plus is so realistic and their swing mechanics is at ahem, par?

I noticed that as well and I am not sure what the answer is as to why...disappointed in that.

Good question...I don't have the answer to that other than to say there are several difficulty levels that might help with something like this....

Same here... I'd also like to know if you can cut the comet trails off? That bothered me a bit in the "Play-the-Pros" video taken from Sawgrass.

You guys should see the size of the putter in the iPhone version.

Seen it...it is a big mallet-style putter....needless to say the iPhone version is not for graphics whores, plus it has a few bugs I hope they fix like the commentary bug and the issue when you move the marker in zoom mode, you have to move it in the reverse direction of where you actually want the marker to move...otherwise, I am finding the game quite enjoyable and challenging....

I posed this question to Brian Ekberg at Gamespot. He is playing a near final version of the game for preview purposes. Here is his answer:

"PGA Tour Season mode is single player only. Would be nice to let people play it via local multiplayer though..."

If we are going to nipick :)

In addition to the ball trail and the huge club head....what about the sonic boom off the driver, Tiger walking straight out of the sand trap and scolding himself after a not so great shot. Tiiiiggeerrrr.

This was able to be turned off in 2008 and 2009, by disabling "Big Hit" cameras. I imagine that will be the case in 2010.

TW10 360 demo is out. Downloading now. Have heard it is only Default difficulty. If so, that is disappointing.

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games ... ?cid=SLink
The Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 demo will let the user play on two holes on both the Bethpage-Black and Turnberry courses. This is intended to let them experience the new in-game features we are implementing. They will also be allowed to take part in a two hole practice round at these two courses. In Tournament Challenge they will be allowed to participate in a single challenge from this feature in order to get a preview of the mode. There will also be a number of feature preview screens that allow the player to read about the rest of the upcoming features in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10.

I'm glad I was warned me about the difficulty setting being locked at Beginner before I played the demo. Stupidly easy is an understatement... I went birdie, birdie, birdie, eagle on the two holes at Bethpage Black and Turnberry..... (sigh). I didn't have anything longer than a 17 foot putt, so I didn't really get to try the Precision Putting stroke to its fullest in those four holes. I holed a 110 yard wedge for eagle at Turnberry, but it just looked predestined to me... I got no real thrill out of it.

The Tournament Challenge did show me how difficult the new putting system can be though. I didn't make the putt in a dozen attempts. I would either come up two feet short, or roll it past the cup to the front of the green. There were a couple of times where I pushed the putt. This was encouraging to see and I was able to tell that I'll get so much more out of this in Tour Pro mode, with the meter off. Thanks to my indoctrination in Advanced mode in Links 2004, my eyes were wanting to watch the golfer animation and not the meter. I actually found the meter to be a distraction.

This was the best implementation of rain I've seen in a console golf game. It usually calls attention to itself in its conspicuousness, but it blended well with the environment, IMO! I could see the added detail in the grass textures and density, so I gotta say the new graphics engine is getting the job done. OTOH, the icons on the screen look a little bit rudimentary. What's up with the clubheads? They look to be 150 percent of their natural size!

I haven't tried the practice mode yet, so I'm off to do that now. You can practice on any of the holes and that will allow me to test some of things I'm interested in... well, as much as one can put it through its paces in the insultingly easy mode in which it's locked.

WHy is it so hard to put out a demo with anything other than the easiest difficulty? The complaint about this game FOREVER has been that it's too easy (console) and a demo like this does nothing to change that. I guess I'll just wait for the game. Don't have too much desire to try the demo after hearing about the easy difficulty.

The putting has been improved, is much more fluid. Now why spectators still don't move around when they know they're gonna be hit... Foooreee...

Thanks for checking on this. How can EA make so many improvements, yet leave out something SO Obvious! I'll still be getting the game but I'm disappointed.

I am definitely getting TW10 but the Wii version has me hesitating. Is it just me or does it look like hellish fun? I don't own a Wii but this game is peaking my interest. I am waiting for some more 1st hand impressions before I make a decision on the Wii or 360.

After seeing Tiger Woods 10 being played on the Wii during X-Play last night, I'm teetering on foregoing the 360 version and buying a Wii. I've already got the Wii Motion Plus/Tiger Woods 10 bundle preordered, but I don't have the coin to buy a Wii just yet. If I cancel my order for the 360 version, I'll come closer to amassing the funds needed for a Wii.

I thought we might get something closer to a 1:1 swing on the 360 this year after seeing how the putt animation had been properly scaled. Playing the demo today on the 360 dispelled that notion. The shortest swing results in a full follow through. It's not a game killer, but it's one more plus in the Wii's column.

Finally got to play the demo and one thing I ask of you Divot, find the guy in charge of the cameras this year and give him a pat on the back. Only played a few holes so far but they have kept much of it at eye level, with a nice flip around as the ball comes down. Or the side perspective I recall once.

It is hard to judge a demo of a game let alone one on an easy level but they sure seem to have fixed my #1 complaint which was to remove that asinine follow the ball cam so little Bobby has a better view of his shot so he could spin the ball midair on his was to another sub 60 round.

Kudos EA.

I wouldn't get this for the 360, but I am very interested on thoughts for the wii motion plus version.
