For some unknown reason you can save during a season, franchise, or RTTS but not during an exhibition game. It's not a big deal for most as those are the most heavily played modes that would require a save, but it's inconsistent and enough people have complained that it's probably something they should address.

Yeah, this game is brutal when it comes to streaks. I have played 70 games in my Braves season and I'm 33 and 37. I'm also something like 10-22 on the road whereas my home record is significantly better. It's crazy how the game really mimmicks the ups and downs of a reason season. I absolutely love it even though I'm still hitting .230 on the season which is horrendous.icvu42 wrote:After starting out 8-8 in my Yankees season, I lost 9 in a row! Tonight I had CC on the mound and was up 5-0 going into the seventh. He proceeded to let the first 3 on, but I held on for a 5-3 victory. I am so happy!!!

Do you need to restart your season?sportdan30 wrote:Patch is out. All that can be confirmed at this time is that the Cubs schedule now has day games during the weekdays. They used to all be night games.
Also do you know if they fixed the issue with the CPU being able to visit the reliever as many times as it wants during an inning. I saw it in 3 straight games this weekend, the CPU came out 3 times in an inning.

Sorry, I don't know the answers to these questions. I really hope we don't have to restart our seasons. That would be a huge bummer. I haven't experienced the mound visit issue yet. That's pretty annoying.Danimal wrote:Do you need to restart your season?sportdan30 wrote:Patch is out. I'm thinking we'll get a complete list later today. Guys at OS are upset because supposedly the historical stat glitch was not addressed. Can't please everyone I guess.

Yeah the multi mound visit was annoying especially since it was the Cards doing it against the Cubs those dirty birds
I hope at least they fixed the line up glitch. That by far is my biggest beef with the game. I hate starting a game and getting a message that somebody in AA is hurt and if I use the AI to deal with the problem my save MLB lineups are all screwed for the next game on.
Maybe it is just me seem to be a lot more quirks this year, still love this game more then anything though.

No doubt about it...I'm about halfway through my Braves season and I'm about 8 games under .500 so I feel your pain. I can definitely go on some runs, but then I'll go winless for a while as well. The best part is that I'm at about .650 at home and .400 on the road. So there is a definitely discrepancy with regards to home and away games. It's amazing.lexbur wrote:Played game number 81 of my Tribe season the other night, halfway through my record is 22-59.

Yeah, I suck.![]()
But still enjoying the hell out of this game. The wins are few and far between, but it's pretty satisfying when I get one.

I think the Brewers are the best team in the Show. I have not played a game against them where they have had less then 15 hits and I bet average 3-4 home runs a game.

Newbie first post on the game.
I am playing on veteran with the Pirates, because I am using the Pirates (no slider changes so far).
First of all this game is so much more enjoyable than my 2K9 experience it is not even close. To me the pitcher/batter is what makes or breaks a baseball game (duh). The pitching meter provides ample challenge to begin with and I am lucky to ever hit my spots. I could hit my spot in the other game every time. I could make contact all day long in 2K9, that is far from the case here. Plus the AI throwing balls/strike ratio feels much more realistic.
Now for some mini-rants
The load time to get to the menu and then playing a game a from hell. One thing I miss about the 360 is I could load a game of MLB 2K9 in 2 seconds (installed to the HD mind you).
Are all games at 1 or 7? Where are my mid-day games? Why in the heck do you offer dynamic shadows and only use them for the late games. I played a came at Cincy and feel bad for those poor cats having to play each day game with the shadow covering home plate 81 times a year for all 9 inning. Same for Arizona and to some extent Milwaukee.
Will one of my outfielders ever make a throw within the vicinity of the catcher? I realize they do happen every time but it would be nice to see ONE come close.

If you max out the throwing meter you will rarely have an accurate throw. Are you?bdoughty wrote:Newbie first post on the game.

Edit I was thinking pitching.
I usually try to hit the line, right before it turns yellow and red. That said I almost enjoy sticking someone on 1st base so I can pitch out of the stretch. I prefer the quickness to the meter.
Edit for the actual reply
Yes I tend to max out the meter, so that helps quite a bit. This is one area where I really prefer the metered throwing in 2K9 vs the little circles.

Most of the time you're better off hitting the cutoff man, but yes, I've thrown a few guys out at home and at third from the outfield. It helps to get a running start toward the ball before fielding it. You also need to get a sense of where the runner is as he rounds third (a quick glance of the runner window just before fielding helps). If he's just starting home, you can get him with a good throw from mid-outfield. If he's more than a few steps it usually won't happen unless he's deathly slow.bdoughty wrote:Will one of my outfielders ever make a throw within the vicinity of the catcher? Throw ratings also make a big difference. Guys with strong arms and good accuracy will nail their throws quite a bit.
