The White Sox had a game last night?10spro wrote:Jays are sizzling HOT. 14-0 against CWS in Chicago, B. Tallet is filling the spot left by J. Litsch very nicely. They drew 7 walks and had 21 hits which means that the team's on base percentage was over 50%. Impressive stuff.

Went to Citi Field today. I approve of the new digs. I had a slice of whole wheat pizza, three out-of-the-ordinary beers from the fancy little hut beyond center field, and a grilled shrimp po' boy that was literally the hottest sandwich I've ever ingested. Spice, not temperature.
The whole concourse around the field level is so well done. You could buy a ticket for the upper deck (oops, I mean "Promenade") and just spend all your time in the wide open concourses downstairs, with their standing areas (complete with drink holders) and great views of the field, pretty darn close. Maybe something like that's old news for other teams, but I grew up in the dank hallways of Shea.
Oh, and they won. The Nats do not look like a major league team, I must say.

Agree with all of that, but that particular pitch was a freakin' batting practice fastball. Takes a special kind of stupid to walk two guys in front of Pujols and then groove that kind of pitch right out of the gate.MizzouRah wrote:He is the best baseball I've ever had the pleasure to watch. You're probably right.. but Pujols is the total package, he won the game yesterday by stealing a base.. the man does it all.RobVarak wrote:

Have you watched the Braves play in the last 3.5 years? They lose games like they did last night ALL THE TIME. It's probably the most frustrating way to go through a season. Just getting your heart torn out on a daily basis. It's awesome. Luckily the rest of the NL East sucks ass as well so the Braves are still in the division race.sportdan30 wrote:The crowd of 16,379 was the fourth turnout of less than 20,000 in seven games at Turner Field this season.

Yeah, I am watching the game too...looked really bad there for a second. First thing I looked for was movement in his limbs...and there was. I just saw Molina tell Victorino he was going to be alright.sportdan30 wrote:G-d speed Rick Ankiel. I pray to g-d he's alright. That did not look good at at all.

Hard to believe a couple days ago the three first place teams in the AL were the Blue Jays, Royals and Mariners. You could have made some money betting that trifecta.10spro wrote:It's official; Jays are for real. These guys can certainly hit, 13-1 against the Angels if only we could have a deeper and healthier rotation.

Maybe he's telling the truth? I wish MLB would say what substance it was.
