Phaneuf replaced Mike Modano as my most hated NHL player about two years ago.
Take care,

Never heard of anyone hating Modano haha. Is this due to him beating the Oilers, or something else?
Many reasons. One, Dallas had the Oilers' number in the playoffs in the 90s. Two, Modano was a big-time whiner. Three, I just thought he was a pretty boy with frosted-looking hair who needed to be drilled through the boards.

Right now, Hawks' speed is too much for the Flames to handle. The home team looks nervous and can't seem to put two passes together. If Iginla and CO don't wake up soon, this series will over tonight.

Damn, down 2 at home already. I quite like Chicago as a team in general, and because of former Flyers like Eager and Sharp. But my predictions are 4/4 so far and I picked the Flames in 6.
Vancouver Canucks are the only Canadian hope as CHI will host mostly against my 'Nucks based on the ANA result so far. Iginla was a non factor as he was double teamed with Seabrook and Keith and the Bulin-Wall was solid again.
You bet! The West is so stacked. I think any of the four remaining teams in the West could beat the Eastern Conference champion this season. Well, maybe not Boston. But any of the other three, regardless of which teams win tonight.
Sharks choke again; sun rises in east, sets in west. News at 11.

The last time they played during the regular season, Canucks showed the kids a lesson in their own home which they didn't like and it created a Brou-haha. CHI is a much better team when they use their skill and speed as demonstrated yesterday. We got that too plus grit and character. It'll be a good series but my guys will teach them another lesson when all is said and done as Louie will frustrate the likes of Sharp, Toews and Kane.
I'll be heading to tonight's Game 7 at the Rock and I've got butterflies already.
I'm not wildly optimistic given the sheer domination of last game by the Canes, but the Devils have the talent to get the job done if they return to the puck possession game that was successful earlier in the series. The team's confidence seems to have been shaken. Also, it seems that the ice time for the checking line has been creeping up and the blueliners have begun to play more passive. That's a recipe for disaster IMHO.
Hopefully the guys bring their 'A' game tonight and can bring another round of hockey to the Rock.
I also agree, but if they had got the Blues in the first round they would still be playing. Anaheim was the worst possible opponent they could have faced.
Wow! the 'Bulin-Wall' was insane last night. He clearly won it for the Hawks. Flames had almost triple the amount of shots on goal and yet lost 4-1. Crazy.
Bruins vs Rangers in the Semis would be awesome for the NHL and Bruins vs Hawks or Red Wings would be epic....Hockey is making a big comeback up here in Boston.

Caps-Pens would be a much bigger deal for the NHL. Bettman will be desperately hoping Washington and Carolina win tonight.

Melrose says Wings are not that excited about playing the Ducks.
I pretty much agree with the Burnside article on the Sharks. Fact is that, as I have been saying, it's ludicrous to pin all this on one man. You look at the numbers of the entire team and it's sad. The goaltending has been subpar. The defense has been subpar. And the overall play has been subpar. I watched every game and anyone could see that Joe was winning the majority of the faceoffs, was making good passes, and was working his butt off in the offensive zone, but he has to have a little help for the team to win. People who do not follow the west do not understand how intense the ANA/SJ rivalry has become. It was not a normal 8 versus 1 seed. Anaheim was smart with their matchups (Getzlaf and Pronger were beasts) and they clearly deserved the series. I don't know how many times I saw the captain, Marleau, and Setoguchi blow good shots or lose possession easily, but it was a lot. It will be interesting to see what direction the Sharks take in the offseason. Do they essentially scrap what they have and build from scratch in a whole new direction, or do they try a piecemeal approach in which they add toughness and grit here and there?

Would have rather played the Sharks.
Common sense. The Ducks are a much tougher team to play against than the Stay-Puf Marshmallow Men of the NHL, which reside in San Jose.
I still think Detroit wins the series, especially if Anaheim is undisciplined. The Wings' PP would be productive.
At even strength, the tipping point remains Osgood. I think the Wings have the edge up front, but Anaheim is so deep and talented on the blue line with Pronger, Niedermayer, Beauchemin and Whitney. If Ozzie is strong, Detroit has the edge. But if Ozzie is weak and Anaheim stays disciplined, Anaheim wins this series.

If Hiller plays anything like he did in round one then the Wings could be in for a rough ride. The combination of the ANA defense and Hiller is pretty tough. The series could be very interesting. I am looking forward to it in a big way.
