So far NUFC has had a lot of good chances but it is 0-0 at half. It's still hard to believe that this club has sunk so low that the nightmare of relegation may very well come true. My hope is that they somehow keep their head above water and this dismal season serves as a serious wake-up call for major changes that need to be made.

0-0 final. Opportunity wasted. Now it's three of the last four against top-seven clubs. And that exception game is a derby against Boro.

Oh, joy. They're going down.

Take care,

For reasons relating to my beloved HUFC I really hope I'm wrong, but I'd fancy Boro to win. I shudder to think what might happen at Anfield on Sunday.

Still, could be worse. I might be supporting a League Two side next season.

NUFC have been able to measure up to some top-tier clubs this year at times and play good football. I am still holding out a smidgen of hope that perhaps they can beat Boro, steal a win against one of the other clubs, and maybe draw in another. I know that's wishful thinking, but crazier things have happened. It's a real pisser that if they are relegated then it will be tough to find them on TV or even the internet live. Man, what I would do to be able to give that fat f*** Ashley a good solid punch to his bloated face.

Agreed. My second punch would go to Graeme Souness.

Evidently, we have a decent number of Newcastle fans here in Charlotte. I ran into them at our British Pub here. They do not take humor well.

They'll be '92-'97 vintage no doubt. Tell them you are preparing for an experiment, to see how their gates hold up when they play Doncaster.

Sad last night to see Norwich pretty much fall out of the lifeboat into Div 1. Always a nice away trip, and their fans are a pretty decent bunch.

Apparently, City are being linked with him, which seems unlikely for a number of reasons. I'd say that Hughes deserves at least another season, and Klinsmann has no track record at club level.

City should dial up one Mr. Hitzfeld and stay out of his way.

Dave:

You'll be happy to know that your beloved City was featured in the latest episode of the HBO reality series "Pacquiao-Hatton 24/7," leading into the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton mega-bout this Saturday night.

Narrator basically said Man U was the most popular team in town but then said there's another team across town that Hatton worships. Then it showed Hatton watching a City game in a pub in Las Vegas, where he's training for the fight. No beer in hand, but he was yelling at the set. Hatton then admitted that he tells his girlfriend not to talk to him for at least four hours after a City loss, saying he'll reply with nothing but gibberish because he's so mad.

The Hitman called City a "religion" for him. I had no idea that his father, Ray Hatton, played for the club. Pretty cool.

Just a footie aside from one of my other sports passions, boxing. :)

I'm surprised she knows who he is if he won't speak to her for hours after City get beat :)

Some of my old workmates have met him in Hyde (small town just E of Manchester) where I think his old boy owns a pub now...said that he was pretty decent chap, but then you obviously wouldn't start on him.

Oddly enough, there are only 2 footballers who friends of mine have been drinking with and been positive about them, and that's Wes Brown and, even more oddly, Duncan Ferguson. To ramp up the bizarreness even more, my buddy indicated that people DID seem interested in having a go at Duncan Disorderly (this was in his Everton time, few years ago) - despite it being widely reported that twice his house had been broken into, and twice he'd battered the intruders quite severly.

I've only met one while drinking - John Hartson, while me and some workmates were staying in a hotel in Watford for a conference. I think he was about to leave Arsenal at the time, I only stopped around for one as I was already plastered, but an Arsenal-supporting chum bored him for hours apparently.

I'm sure he comes around soon and lets her console him:

There is one dark cloud in the silver lining, though. Apparently Ricky and Mrs. Hatton-to-be are very close friends with Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLaughlin. HERESY!

Back to footie ...

Well, I've just seen the highlights of the Schalke game, and on any other day, that'd have been 2 or 3-1 to Bayern. Defence looked a bit poor though - De Michaelis seemed to get knocked off the ball easily, and Ottl seemed to have mastered the skill of blaming people when the guy he's meant to be marking at a corner heads it in.

And then, another acid flashback....the highlights of Gladbach vs Bielefeld, and who should be managing the latter but Michael Frontzeck...a City LB of the 1995/96 season, and voted by City fans as....the worst LB we have ever had, as well as the worst foreign player we've ever had. That brings back some very dark memories that season, as Alan Ball sent us on the slippery slope that ended up in Division 1.

lots of those "coulda beens" this season. Maybe Uli will feel a bit more like an idiot for running off the Hitzfeld.

Ooo, and now another Bayern director is slagging lickle City off for being irresponsible..

http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/18 ... _City.aspx

Boris f**king Becker ? What the f**k does that ginger c*** know about football ?

This, let us recall, is the Mr Responsible who..

- shagged a bird in a cupboard and got her up the tub while married, then tried to deny it

- ended up paying a £500k fine for tax evasion

- now only appears on UK TV pimping online poker.

Here's a tip, you ginger tw*t - put a shotgun in your mouth and pull the f**king trigger...at least that'll stop you having any more bastards.

And as for Bayern - jealousy will get you nowhere, you sad f**ks. I pity the organisation that thinks that Becker is any sort of fit person to have as a director. Still, I suppose that other sack of s*** Hoeness had to give his mouth a rest from moaning about City - maybe he's spending his time tapping up players from other German clubs, in preparation for when we swoop in for Ribery.

It is odd how such a successful club feels the need to moan every fortnight about a club in 9th place in the Premiership. Why is that, I wonder - I don't recall Ginger mouthing off when RM bid £75m for Ronaldo, or Barcelona sold Figo for £46m, or when MU bought one of their many £30m players ? Is that because you deem City to be not big enough ? Of course, it's because we are 'RUINING FOOTBALL', when BM's first team is absolutely chock full of home grown talent....oh my f**king arse it is.

I love a good rant - I feel a bit better now (note to Hoeness and Becker...if I thought that you were really representative of what people in Munich were like, I'd be ringing up Sir Arthur 'Bomber' Harris's corpse to see if it fancied arranging a f**king followup 1000 bomber special., you diseased wretches...you should have been blow jobs, the pair of you)

Blimey - I'm channelling Bill Hicks. I could do this for a living...probably, before the libel lawyers got to work. :D

Apologies - "up the tub" = Northern English slang for "pregnant"

Useable as an adjective, primarily, though "tubbed" can be used as both a passive or active verb.

As for Ribery, well City are after everyone, but there must be a grain of truth in it, as BM haven't bleated this loud for years, not even when Hargreaves was snaffled by Man U (probably also to do with the fact that they weren't that arsed really).

JT? Hell, everybody but Guus, the ball boy and ol' Roman himself was packed into the Chelsea end. Cantenaccio is nice and all, but the Chavs forgot the counter-attack part of that plan. :)

Selling Hargreaves was the best piece of business in the last decade for Bayern. The guy always failed to show up on the European stage.

There are people on the pitch wearing Arsenal uniforms but, Almunia aside, I'm not sure they know there's a game on.
