N-Gage 2

Post by USSR »

Image

Whilst the hardware is no different than the original N-Gage, the keyboard layout is completely different and looks rather cool. On the rear of the device (taped up) appears to be a camera lense. It will play original N-Gage games.
Image

No more Sidetalkin btw, you can see the speaker and mic on the front of the phone - Booooyaaa! Also, if you look in the bottom left of the display you will see "CAMERA", so we're gonna take a stab in the dark here and guess that Nokia have upped the specs on N-Gage 2!

Nokia dropped the ball with N-Gage, but they look to be doing a great job with the design of N-Gage 2!!!

My thoughts exactly.
I'm surprised the morons at Nokia even followed that garbage up. They should have walked away with their tails between their legs.

here is my opinion on ngage as owner of ngage 1.

Its all-in-one system. That is why I bought it.

I can do so many thing with it. Games, phone, notes, to-do list, mp3 player, FM radio, I can watch up to 3 hours movie on it. Yep - Lord of the rings can be placed on simple 128MB MMC.

Yes we got GBA and PSP and Zodiac - but none got all-in-one. Try to make a call from GBA.

Ngage - is a gaming system too but its got so many extras that @ price of 200$ with 3 free games and one free accessorie its a bargain for me.

As of now I got 10-15 cool games on it (all free from the Net) including Doom, MotoGP 2, Call of Duty and XIII. I got 5 episodes of South Park, around 10 songs, some pictures and FIFA 2004 and Splinter Cell for Real gaming.

I can play online with other people - and check stats etc on Ngage Arena.

I am 32 years old. My whole life doesnt rotate around games. But when i got free time on my way to/from work I always use Ngage to kill time - and that is what it is - its a perfect time killer.

I am a little disapointed that Ngage 2 will not have mp3 and radio features. Hopefully they will make camera strong enough to compensate it.

If you spent $300 -- or $200 -- on an NGage, then your life revolves around gaming more than you'll care to admit. I'm guessing that you already own at least one console, yet you spend your spare time commuting playing games on an overpriced device.

I'm glad you enjoy the NGage, but I find it pretty funny that you're trying to downplay how important gaming is in your life yet you paid at least $200 for something to keep you amused during your commute.

Call me a crazed gamer, but a newspaper costs 50 cents, a magazine $3 or a paperback book $10, and they do a pretty good job of amusement during commuting.

Take care,
PK

you taking things out of contest. As I said i also got 5 episods of South Park and around 10 favorite mp3 songs.

Now if you take it out of contest will you say that my life revolves around South Park or around mp3? Or may be you can use my mentioning of Lord of the ring and you can make me a LOTR fanboy, why not - its so easy out of contest....

And yes I figured 200$ ( for something I will use as a phone and also as video-audio-game player) is a good price.....

Only biased person will argue.

After all how may of you here got TV bigger than 32". And how much did you paid for it. Can I assume that your life revolves around TV and you are a "couch potato"?

P.S. So far I figured you either bitter since you cant afford it either you bitter you got no no work-home commutment. Try to get a job....

In any case You made your point that Ngage is a boring topic for you - why bother posting? Or you want Ngage topic out of your forum? Look like you just looking for a reason to argue with someone.

I am owner - I stated my opinion as user of the devise. All you do is ZZZ and bashing me for stating opinion. Grow up maybe....

Yep, if we don't agree with you, we must be biased. After all, the NGage is just tearing up the sales chart. It's the hottest gaming device since the PS2 was released.

I'm not biased. I think the NGage is a terrible waste of money. That's an opinion, not a bias.

The NGage is a compromise device, where it does a lot of things but none of them as well as a standalone device for each of those functions. At least that's my experience from limited use of the thing.

I was going to call it the Swiss Army knife of electronics, but that would be an insult to the venerable Swiss Army knife.

Listen, Warden: I worked 50 hours per week when you were still playing high-school sophomore. So don't give me your juvenile sh*t about holding a job.

If you had been around here and actually contributed to the board in the past, you'd know that I've been fully employed since graduating from college in December 1987. That's 16 years ago -- when you were a whopping 16 and learning how to drive, buddy boy.

You really are delusional if you think I'm bitter that I don't own something you do. Sorry, the world doesn't lick your boots as you think it may.

I think the NGage is a waste of coin. You don't. Fair enough. But to claim someone is bitter or jealous because they think something you own is a waste of cash? ... Don't flatter yourself, man.

Take care,

No, I ripped you for your snarky comment about your life not revolving around gaming -- a shot at those in here to whom gaming is important -- yet you paid $200 for a commuter gaming device.

That makes you a hypocrite. And I don't suffer those -- or fools -- gladly.

And even though I'm not a moderator in here any more, I don't trust you one bit. You were the guy who flooded the SR Forum with the crap about your Xboxhockey.com site, SPAMOLA disguised as legitimate invitations to your site.

Some of us haven't forgotten that. It's hard to take your endorsement of anything seriously in here since the shameless and ceaseless pimping of that hockey site.

There. Now you know my beef.

Take care,
PK

May be it waste for you - may be you just didnt figured how to get the most out of it.

And why you keep saying we about your self?

It plays great all my mp3. It plays good video quality movie for cell-phone. It stores all data I need. It plays nice games.

For each your opinion I got mine 100% oposite to yours. Its not about Right/Wrong its about I like it / i dont like it.

Obviosly you dont - so why bash it? Why dont you leave this topic for those who likes it. And if I am the only one here than I will be talking to my self.

Pathetic comeback. And what relevance does it have to anything in here? None.

You're grasping at straws.

Does my life revolve around this Forum? Uh, no. There's more to my life than this Forum, just as there's more to your commute than an NGage.

But do I make a hell of a lot of posts in here? Yep. Never denied that.

Honesty. Give it a try some time.

Take care,

I had no idea NGage did all that. The videogames themselves never looked that good in the demos I saw, but I did not realize you could watch movies, listen to FM radio, etc. As someone who currently carries around a Tungsten T3, a cell phone, and a GBA Platinum, it would be nice to have all that in one device.

Edit: Wow, there were like 10 new posts in the time that I had this one up for editing. That will teach me to start to post and then get on a 2 hour conference call. Funny thread. :)

Thanks for the kind remarks, Warden. I feel blessed.

It would be nice if your retorts were above the schoolyard level, but then again, that would be asking a lot.

I'm through with this thread -- and you. There are much better uses of my time, in both regards.

Take care,

Yep that is the whole my point. People just dont know all advantages.

Movies
Free Java games.
Emulators of GBA, SNES etc.
You can record FM radio.
Palmpilot functions

I think Ngage is underestimated. And again - with 200$ deal I can close my eyes on flows.

USSR, you fell victim to one of the 2 classic blunders...

The first, is never go in on a land war in Asia. The second, and only slightly less well-known, is never go up against PK500 when gaming is on the line...

PK is the virtual center of the virtual sports/videogame world. As for how many licks it takes to get to that center? I leave that to the ladies in Pk's life...

Now, USSR go back about defending your N-Gage purchase. If it works for you, that's great. The general argument (and consensus of gamers) is that it doesn't quite cut it, especially in the face of the upcoming PSP. But, I bought Zoolander on DVD and it was a bomb according to the world, so whatever floats your boat.

Can't we all just get along...

Last thing I want is argue about gaming... as of him being center...well he is just another wanna-be. Some one who got enough of free time to hang on forum. He is not last - he is not first either.

I know that Ngage was designed as a gaming devise - but for me it was always phone with wide abilities.
Yes FIFA for ngage is not FIFA for Xbox but to me its good to have FIFA on my cell phone. And if I can watch whole Movie on cell-phone - heck - why not to buy it?

Well said Chaps. FIFA is painful enough under the best of circumstances, I can only imagine what joy it must produce on a tiny vertical screen with frame rate issues. Where do I sign up?

I appreciate your opinion as perhaps the sole backer of the NGage in this universe, but any way you look at it this is likely one of the worst designed products since the Edsel. To think that they would actually be contemplating a sequel is, well, mind-boggling.

This thread has very quickly devolved into something NOT related to the N-Gage 2. This is a warning. Get back on topic, or the thread will be locked. I'm not gonna lock this, because I trust that people can behave themselves. If this behavior continues, people will be temp banned or permanently banned.

Discussion about the NGage is fine. Debate about the NGage is fine. Ad hominem attacks are NOT fine. It's one of the most stupid forms of argument and it ruins threads and the community vibe here. So quit it.

Furthermore, I know the history of people on this board, including people under new nicks (including ones that have been banned, ahem). If people behave and keep things civil, all is good and past history will be ignored. But if people turn threads into unnecessary flame wars, there will be consequences.

Surely, you jest about me!

Seriously, I've made more than 3,600 posts in here, and that wouldn't have happened if the consensus told me to shut up and if I didn't meet a ton of really cool people in here.

I'm not going to let one simpleton/spammer/ban dodger spoil that. Enough ... onward and upward.
