The US played a sloppy game and were lucky escaping with a tie against El Salvador. A team that hadn't scored a goal against the US team in a long time. fortunately the team capitalized when their keeper left the game with an injury. The scary thing is El Salvador is the weakest team in the conference. Does Landycakes ever shoot the ball?
Every time he has an opportunity he passes the ball. Lets hope they have a better showing this Tues against Trinidad & Tobago.

Any truth to this rumor or is it BS?
Jose has been linked with everyone. I think Dave's Sunday Pub team has been linked with the special one.
Only because we have ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD, AND ARE RUINING FOOTBALL (according to the corrupt surrender monkey who runs UEFA).
Imagine that...City and Jose together. We could run on pure haterade.

Shearer has no coaching experience, but it's not like that could sink Newcastle any deeper. So hey, what the hell!
Big Al can't lose in this one. If Newcastle is relegated, the Toon Army will blame Ashley for ruining the club and leaving JFK and Shearer with sh*t. If Newcastle survives, Shearer's legend only will grow on Tyneside.
Shearer's first match in charge: Chelsea this Saturday at St. James Park. Good effing luck, Al!
Take care,

Well, the Magpies need a big morale boost to avoid delegation and their former captain will provide just that. The remaining schedule favours his inexperience but a good call IMO.

First time I saw this, I thought it was an April Fool's windup.
Shearer's appointment would be great...if the fans played the game. However, it's the players who play (or don't), and he's not exactly very popular with them.
If they get nowt from the Chelsea and Stoke games, then it'll be time to dust off them motorway route maps and check out how to get to Burnley.
I'm still not sure why it's only in England that appointing people with no coaching experience at any level, or indeed badges, is a good idea.
This is becoming like watching a car crash...and now there's a squeal of brakes as the big juggernaut marked 'The Championship' approaches.

If it's anything like the home match vs T&T in the previous round of qualifying, the game will resemble a leisurely scrimmage of the varsity team versus the JV team.
If I recall, the real fireworks of that match were the RobV/Zeppo summit in the parking lot.

LOL And the only drama of the evening was trying to track each other down inside Toyota Park. The game itself was a snore.

Jozy Altidore is pretty much the only bright spot for the US team. Donovan is up to his usual setup the goal scorer. Both goals were assists from Donovan to Altidore. One good stat in the US teams favor is they are 15-0-1 when they lead in the second half.
