Confirmed? It sounded like he was still undecided.

Have to love this kind of stuff if he does leave:
Kentucky, however, is hardly the first program to flirt with Calipari, who often has received a bigger paycheck from Memphis as a result of the interest.

He signed a contract extension in April 2008 that pushed his deal through the 2012-13 season giving him a $500,000 a year raise with a $5 million bonus if he finishes the contract. That pushed his annual salary to $2.35 million.

He got that deal after taking Memphis to an NCAA Division I record 38 wins and the national championship game—the program’s first Final Four since 1985 and first NCAA final since 1973. The Tigers lost 75-68 in overtime to Kansas.

“What this contract has done is wiped out 99 percent of that stuff, and I told them that I appreciate that. It’s not only the base salary, but it’s also the longevity bonus which wipes out the others. There are no other places. This is the place,” Calipari said at a news conference when the contract was signed.
Translation: Skanks for the memories, C-USA. Real athletic conferences, here I come!

Lawyers are simply going over the fine details as I type that. Memphis has been given permission to talk to Mike Anderson believe it or not.

Georgia has reportedly made him an offer as well.

UGA can obviously offer him more $$ than Memphis or Missouri - but the question is, does he want to be a Dawg or not.

I have read UGA has offerend him 2.33 mill a year over 6 years.

I really hope we get him.

Don't much care for MU, but I sure do like and respect Mike Anderson. Hope he stays in the Big 12.

I like Mike Anderson too.. it just pisses me off after one great year, coaches get all these offers all of a sudden.

Why even have contracts anymore?

memphis just matched UK's offer for Cal even though Cal rejected it. Don't be so sure you have more money. also, Mizzou does have the Wal-Mart money from the Lauries.

So, any more Michigan State Spartan doubters? They've beaten the two best Big East teams, the defending National Champs, and a very hot USC squad.

I'm hoping they face Villanova, but I'll look forward to a rematch with UNC as well.

The Spartans are a nice story and a fine team. I'll definitely pull for them if 'Nova can't rally against UNC.

The entire state of Michigan needs something to feel good about since the poor economy has stricken that state, so it's cool the Spartans are delivering.

Take care,

Sweet win Michigan St. I dont usually root for em (being a Wolverine fan and cause of the way they abuse the Spartan heritage  :P ) but I was earlier today.

I never lumped em in with the rest of the Big 10. I know they layed that egg vs OSU in the conf tourney but they did win the conference by 4 games. Thats a pretty big margin.

A huge lol and a middle finger at ESPN.

I like NC quite a bit, but it's hard to not like MSU as well. Should be a great game!

Boo... I am rooting for Louisville since they are a BIG underdog and took out OU.

Note to NCAA: Consider a bylaw that disallows Big Ten teams and OU from playing in Championship games.

Mich St is getting slaughtered out there.

And I'll reiterate again. MSU is not very good. Good D, but not tonight. And just a poor executing offense overall.

I give props to UNC, but MSU isn't even in the same league.

Disagree .... Teams that arent very good dont beat two straight #1 seeds and get to the final.

I Agree. They were very sloppy tonight.

I give props to UNC for a dominating run to the title.....and for being in a league all their own.

Based on how they played in the tourney, nope. They have the size plus the shooters. Inside and outside = Double whammy for the opponents.
