I haven't played Rock Band in quite some time. It looks like there is some pretty good music coming out soon. Gonna have to get right back in to it.

It is pretty awesome that for the last few months we've been seeing 5-10 tracks a week rather than the 3/week that was the case for most of last year.

That should be a pretty fun drum track. A lot of good fills on that song.

They really have done a great job balancing out the catalog, too. There are songs that are simple but fun, more challenging songs, a good representation of different genres (as long as they are guitar-based) and a nice blend of classics and new stuff. I really think it's not only the best video game ever made, but the best job a publisher has done supporting a game and keeping it fresh.

RBDLC has turned me from a Live Marketplace abstainer to someone looking to raffle off his children to afford his habit of mainlining new tracks weekly. 8O

I thought monthly WoW fees were bad...

Average White Band- “Pick Up the Pieces”
Earth Wind & Fire- “Shining Star”
James Brown- “Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine - Pt 1”
Against Me!- “Thrash Unreal”
The New Pornographers- “All the Things That Go to Make Heaven and Earth”
The New Pornographers- “Use It”
Papa Roach- “Last Resort”
Papa Roach- “Lifeline”
Finally some JB! A huge gap in the catalog is corrected. But there are so many more...:)

Absolutely! Can't wait to play some JB this week. That will be very fun. Getting the vocals correct should be a challenge. :). Good God...heah! Hit me!

Spongebob Pack!!!! :D

Hey gang!

Here's the DLC for the week of 3/31. Some great classic rock anthems, some sweet tracks from up and comers that played the Rock Band Showcase at SXSW, and some bubblegum fun songs to round out the week. Check it out!

Journey - Don't Stop Believing
Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker
Glasvegas - Geraldine
Von Bondies - C'mon C'mon
SpongeBob SquarePants - I Can't Keep My Eyes Off of You
SpongeBob SquarePants - The Best Day Ever
SpongeBob SquarePants - Where's Gary?

All songs are masters.

The Journey, Pat Benatar, Glasvegas, and Von Bondies singles are $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track. The SpongeBob SquarePants singles are $0.99 (80 Microsoft Points) a piece, or $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points) for the 3 song SpongeBob SquarePants Pack 01.

Release dates:
Tuesday, March 31, 2009 (Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360) Thursday, April 2, 2009 (PlayStation®Store)

Honestly stoked about Spongebob. I play the game with my sons, and they'll dig it.

My son will definitely be excited about the Spongebob songs! And I'm sure I'll pick up the Journey song.

I'm really liking the variety of songs we're seeing. I would like to see more kid friendly songs (like the Spongeob pack) as I know they would be hugely popular among families.

The songs by Von Bondies and Glasvegas sound pretty sweet as well. I've never heard those before. Might have to get those too.

Harmonix is really coming through with this DLC. They've been on a roll the last few weeks.

Can't wait to try Journey. The lady of the house, bassist/occasional vocalist, will be very pleased. :)

They just need to put Journey's Escape out there, or a Greatest Hits pack. They have very universal appeal.

This makes me very happy!

http://www.destructoid.com/gdc-09-rock- ... 6537.phtml

During his session entitled "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap: Design Lessons Learned from ROCK BAND," Harmonix's Dan Teasdale dropped a bit of information about an upcoming Rock Band 2 update.

According to the designer, user feedback indicated that some players wanted an option to view information on highest stars achieved in the game per song. With that in mind, gamers should expect a game update in the future.

I really wish it was per song per instrument though.

Frankly I'm amazed it took them so long and that they still don't seem to understand that gamers will want to play until they 5 star songs on specific instruments.

My little guy is going to be stoked about the Spongebob songs. He loves to sing what he can, and this will give him more to add to his set list! His current favorites have been Wonderwall, Hungry Like the Wolf, and Eye of the Tiger. He does pretty well for a 4 year old. :D

The Unplugged list comes out in two weeks. The 10 downloadable tracks should be familiar to anyone who has kept track of Rock Band over the past couple of years. You've got Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Under the Bridge", Paramore's "CrushCrushCrush", Belly with "Feed the Tree". Here's the full list:

30 Seconds to Mars - "The Kill"
Belly - "Feed the Tree"
Disturbed - "Inside the Fire"
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Gimme Three Steps"
Muse - "Hysteria"
Mute Math - "Typical"
No Doubt - "Just a Girl"
Oasis - "Wonderwall"
Paramore - "Crushcrushcrush"
Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Under the Bridge"

So much for buying new games.....this one is using up all my gaming $$$ in DLC.

Last week saw the release of 12 tracks from my favorite band, Iron Maiden! So far I've only purchased 4 of them. Recent weeks has seen the Wii content quickly catching up to the 360 & PS3. Looking at this weeks releases I spotted about 7 more I want. This game has effectively kept me from buying TW10

It's so nice having such a wide range of great music to play too. From Maiden to Buffet to Duran Duran to Styx, I'm having a blast. I can actually handle drums on hard for most tracks. My biggest problems come where you've got a bass drum in between cymbal/snare hits. My foot only wants to work when one of my arms is going at the same time.
