Hartlepool 7 points above the relegation zone, which if my memory of our last relegation serves me right, means exactly the same thing. I can barely remember what a happy Saturday night feels like.fsquid wrote:Wednesday 7 points off the playoffs which means they won't get another point until April.

The one against us was closer in, still rising as it hit the net and brought about by one of our centre backs doing a performing seal impression instead of clearing the bloody ball. Not that it's burned into my brain, you understand.fsquid wrote:Simo did you see Glen Whelan's goal for Stoke on Sunday? Looks familiar, didn't it?
I'm trying to get to a point where the game ends in my mind just after Eifion Williams got the equaliser, but no joy as yet. Once I'm there, I'll also be able to forget Adam Boyd failing to reproduce the showing that tore your lot to shreds on a foul, soaking, galeforce Friday night at the Vic six weeks previous, that Chris Westwood red card, Dimi not quite having the strength to keep McLean's penalty out, Drew bloody Talbot and the exact moment at which I gave up hoping and started crying.
I'll still be stuck with that Westie's Golden Moment when he cocked up closing down Rocastle (cracking centre back, Chris Westwood, but his errors were never minor, inconsequential ones, hence their name) and McGovern's celebration, though. Still don't know what that was meant to be.

MU and Chelsea avoid each other in the draw...looks like someone's been warming the cubes again.
"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."

The powers that be at MU have, as usual, been sacrificing small children before a big Champs League match - most of Inter's defenders are injured.
I'm hoping for a classic defensive action, with the bonus of a last minute own goal off the back of Rooney's fat head as he scans the ground for any suitable grannies.
Forza Inter !

So is it that the 4 EPL teams are better than the rest or that EPL gives them stronger competition than clubs from some of the leagues in other countries?
I heard talk that the Italian clubs were "scared" of the English clubs.
Yet in games with national teams, all these EPL stalwarts don't produce for the English team. Maybe because many of those stalwarts are foreign nationals.

You mean all the pundits that would have an easy time against Real. Everybody said it would be a cake walk. Reading and listening to a few, they really had to try and make the case against liverpool.RobVarak wrote:Man, what a glorious middle finger that game was to all the pundits, managers and assorted other geniuses criticizing Rafa's European tactics before the game.
I'm still looking for those predictions that Liverpool would win this tie in a cakewalk but then again I guess I could have predicted this revisionist history every time Liverpool beat a big team. Suddenly, a team with 9 straight wins before the first leg, unbeaten in 12, won 9 European cups and have Van Der Vaart, Snejder, Ramos, Raul, Cannavaro, and Cassilas are suddenly crap.
The last 3 days papers have been filled with people crying about how Rafa would come out and play 10 behind the ball and suck the life out of the draw.JRod wrote:You mean all the pundits that would have an easy time against Real. Well that's it. I follow them locally and it's like Jekyll and Hyde. They just suck at this Championship and not just this year, but it's been lackluster for them for awhile. You look at all the goals today, where the hell was the D?Macca00 wrote:Shhhh, no one mention Real Madrid were on a ten game La Liga winning streak before playing Liverpool.

Was the Liverpool game not televised? Came home all pumped to watch some games but had the life sucked out of me when i had to watch Chelsea as my top game for the evening.
Usually my dvr picks them all up so im wondering if the twats at espn are now just doing pay per view for champions league as i dont see any games today either on their channels.
So glad to hear they won(finally looked at the result knowing im not gonna be able to see it anywhere) but sad i cant discuss Rafas tactics with any of you
I guess it was meant to be... Not Liverpool winning, but me not seeing Benitez actually make a difference
So i can go on hating him and feel good about it.
Lets see how Rafa Paisley fares this weekend, last chance for any hope at the Prem title.
Another 4-0 will be nice.
Oh and is there any free way of veiwing the game now online or anything?

It was on ESPN instead of ESPN2, so my series recording didn't pick it up either.Jimmydeicide wrote:Was the Liverpool game not televised? Came home all pumped to watch some games but had the life sucked out of me when i had to watch Chelsea as my top game for the evening.
