Collins for three! Collins for three! Collins from way behind the NBA line........Yes!!!! Collins was en fuego in that second half. He and Cole Aldrich was the reason the Jayhawks were able to hang on against the Griffin-less Sooners. Tyshawn Taylor played pretty damn well too....
I'll admit KU probably would have lost if Blake Griffin had played, but still it's a great win on the road in a very hostile environment. Warren was very impressive in the first half, but looked frustrated in the second half.
KU, after losing ALL five starters is 12-1 and 22-5 overall. Bill Self for coach of the year!!!

Mike Anderson at Missouri would be my pick so far this year.
Okay you can open them again. Self has done a terrific job but he is not exactly coaching scrubs.

No, that is true. But, KU lost 80 percent of their scoring from a year ago. Aldrich played less than 10 minutes a game, and now he's playing around 35. Collins was the first guard off the bench, and now he's averaging nearly 18 points a game. Yes, Self gets excellent recruits, but you still have to get them all working together.bdoughty wrote:Close your eyes for just a second.sportdan30 wrote: KU, after losing ALL five starters is 12-1 and 22-5 overall. Anderson @ Missouri is doing a magnificant job as well. His recruits in general are usually of lesser talent, but he molds them well in to his system. This is really his first year of "his" kids and it shows. I wouldn't be upset if he won C.O.Y. either. He's just as deserving, but KU has younger talent and the veterans on the team (sophomores and juniors) are being asked to carry the load.
Mizzou at KU on Sunday should be a fantastic game. Allen Fieldhouse is going to be absolutely rockin!
I still think OU is deserving of a number 1 seed and the committee will take that in to account that obviously Griffin didn't play in the game. I do hope however that he plays against Mizzou!
Hopefully he is ready for the game Sat @ Tech. If I am back in town I would like to check it out. Pretty sure he will be ready by the Missou game, we will need him.
Good article on Peter Carril, I loved his teams at Princeton.

I suppose. The place wasn't even 3/4 full. It felt like a first round tournament game. I think they were hungover from the Missouri loss.fsquid wrote:Kansas was playing in a tough environment last night, so it was understandable.
The question now is where does OU fall in the seeding? A number one is definitely out. They've lost their last 3 of 4.
By the way fsquid, nice pick-up by Calipari of Xavier Henry. He sounds like he's going to be a big impact player next year. I wanted KU to get him so badly.
Woo Hoo 57 straight victories over the CUSA.fsquid wrote:Brent, just do you know, Memphis is now shooting FTs 2% better than the mighty Sooners. Just an FYI and now 57 straight.
OU is just crapping themselves down the stretch.
P.S. Squiward, Texas Tech is not exactly a hostile environment. They had only won two games in conference play before Kansas choked. Nobody wants it bad enough as all three (OU, KU and MU) have blown one this week.
But at least we play in a big boy conference.

Something you will never hear from a Missouri Tiger fan in the College Football thread.MizzouRah wrote:What a game last night against OU!!!

Sorry, I am just really pissy since we have lost three in a row.

OU struggles but wins (gets #2 seed in conf tourney), Missou loses and KU wins 5 in a row. I guess that Coach of the year trophy in the Big 12 goes back to Lawrence.
I am sure something happened in the Conference USA but does anyone really care?
Edit: Take that back Tulsa gets a big win at Rice. Woo Hoo!

Wow what a game tonight. Texas Tech is down 22 in the second half to A&M and they come back win. Mike Singletary scored something like 30 straight points for Tech in the second half to lead them to victory. Quite possibly the most impressive one man comeback I have ever seen.
Conference Tourneys and the NCAA tourney is my favorite sports time of the year.
Sorry Divot if you are reading this, it had to be a tough tough loss to watch.
