6-1 Mets thru 6 in my first game at Citi Field. Delgado just went oppo off Chan Ho Park. Had to pull Myers after 4 2/3...Mets were having their way with him...plus he was at 55 pitches. Umpires are definitely variable. The guy behind the dish is squeezing Park something fierce. Just had a 4 pitch walk
Never felt so good about losing to the Mets...what a game!

Post game highlights are awesome...are you kidding me! This is great stuff. Pelfrey = CG, 5 hit win. Delgado = POG, 3 hits; 2B, HR 3 RBI. At least I went deep with Geoff Jenkins who entered on a double switch in the 4th.
The music options are very robust. Custom playlists and a music editor where you can create custon walk up music. Can't wait to make some custom chants...screw the Mets.

Yeah, pain in the but. I've been switching it manually in between games of MLB and EoJ. With the "quadruple-super-mega-processing" power of the PS3 I've never understood this optimized for 720p garbage or games that only support 720p like Street Fighter and many others.dbdynsty25 wrote:
But if you set it to 1080p ONLY...what happens when you play games that are 720p?

I wish I could remember the name of the umpire who called balls and strikes in my game against the Rockies. If I see that S.O.B. in a bar, that punk is going down. He was awful! Every border line pitch was a ball, and there was no consistency. The broadcast crew was questioning him all game. I wonder if they truly call the game the same way each time. It's frickin' great!
End game highlights are indeed awesome.
Pujols drove one deep between center and left, and the left fielder dove and came up with nothing. But I was standing on second. I don't remember seeing that last year.
I switched to fast play in the sixth inning and the game really started moving. No need to press "X" to speed the game up in normal play. I'll go back and forth for a while, but fast pace is what I'll eventually end up playing.

Somewhere there's the Devs talking about how there's like 15 umps in the game with different personalities. So the umps are consistent but there's a variety of them from good to bad.sportdan30 wrote:I wish I could remember the name of the umpire who called balls and strikes in my game against the Rockies. Wow! What a game.
Started up my Blue Jays franchise and, oh boy I have my work cut out. Good starting staff (at least the first 3) and a team that should hit decently - although driving in runs is a problem. Rogers Centre really suffers in comparison to alot of the newer ballparks - amazing how a ballpark that looked so cutting edge now looks so last gen compared to the new throwback ballparks.
But f*cking short relief is a nightmare! BJ Ryan is the equivalent of bringing in a barrel of gasoline and pouring on a bonfire - in my first game he got lit up for 6 runs. Couldn't throw strikes except for the ones he through down the middle of the plate - 2 homers including a grandslam. If this keeps up I'm gonna give him the BJ Birdy Mascot outfit to wear and sign the mascot guy to a minor league deal. Acardo wasn't much better as I ended up giving up 8 in the 9th innning to Detroit.
Now if I can only figure out base running - been struggling and have managed to get myself out a few times advancing the wrong runner.
Best wishes,
Doug

How dare you say that about the Rogers Centre. I mean c'mon, the thing has a roof that can open in 20 minutes and a huge tv where the crowd can answer trivia between innings! If those aren't classic features that make a ballpark I don't know what are. The retro phase will pass don't worry.dougb wrote:Wow! What a game.

Actually, as ugly as the place is, they did a great job in recreating it. The left and right field gap wall screens are extremely well done. Can't remember if they have actual patrons at Windows restaurant though.
What an absolutely gorgeous game. Last night I played as the Yankees vs the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium and just was amazed at the visuals. It was hard to believe that I was looking at a video game.
It took me well over an hour to finish and I could not have cared less. I was floored. To top it off I had a Beckett/Sabathia pitching duel that went ten innings. In the tenth I got Matsui to 3rd and then Posada fisted a single down the left field line on a 1-2 pitch. Felt great.
I hooked up the Guitar Hero(360) mic and went into the chant creation. It stated it did not detect a microphone. I thought I read where you could use any USB mic. Has anyone tried/had any success with this feature?
I wanted to put a "Put Rose in the Hall" yell in for my Reds.

I used to go to between 10-15 games a year back in the late 80's and early 90's. One of the biggest problems with the park is the lack of atmosphere. I remember going to see games at old exhibition stadium and while it was a pretty horrible ballpark it just seemed to have alot more atmosphere. The Rogers Centre is just so damned quiet most of the time.

BJ has been sucking popsicles lately, including in early spring training, hope he picks up his game in the coming World Championship, if not the Jays are toast by June.
You know you have problems when Dave Winfield has to come out publicly and ask for more crowd noise during the 92' series. I would say it's because we're Canadian, but then again teams like Toronto FC get insane crowd noise as do the western NHL teams.dougb wrote:fanatic wrote:How dare you say that about the Rogers Centre. Only the former Yankee and Shea Stadiums. Stuff they already had the resources complete for, it seems... which is a shame because this game particularly has to potential to spit out some AMAZING looking old-timey baseball. At least we can select the uniforms this year.JRod wrote:What is the list of throwback stadiums?

I remember watching that game with my dad. I almost hit my head on the ceiling when he knocked it out of the park. You guys won one eventually..so we're cool right?dbdynsty25 wrote:I'd like to throw out a huge F U to Ed Sprague BTW.fanatic wrote:You know you have problems when Dave Winfield has to come out publicly and ask for more crowd noise during the 92' series. Stupid question but i can't remember the answer. If i begin my franchise now, will the roster update that comes out next month (opening day rosters) force me to restart the franchise or will it just overhaul the current one and let me continue?
I really would love to start my Sox franchise but don't want to get 30 games in and restart if i don't have to. Thanks.
