The meter does seem tougher. I gave up a walk where on ball four I left the icon dead center and threw a fastball, but it landed outside. Nice.

I've played five times on Legend, only won once, am mostly getting cornholed.

I almost responded that seeing Slumber getting cornholed with balls all over the place was making me super excited, but I decided against it.

I'm on my iPhone and can't post a link, but the new blog is up and it deals with the "attention to little details.". This game looks beyond ridiculous. If only they could make a football game.

FYI, although the game/demo is optimized for 720p, the demo/game can be played in smooth 1080p. This game has classic written all over it. Lets hope it delivers the goods with minimal/no bugs.

It's definitely better than last year, even though this is an unfinished demo. I've already seen more hit variety. I used to never worry about defensive positioning because OFs could get to balls easily. That's not the case this year.

I really do think the pitching is harder, too. The margin for error on the meter seems smaller, and I have been getting punished for leaving pitches in the heart of the zone.

Just read the little things blog. Wow. Absolutely amazing. The guys who work on this game are unbelieveable. Everything from clothing accessories to varied attendance is just awesome.

Thinking March 3rd is definitely a good day off from work!

Playing on AS, I have my share of singles more than doubles, the meter seems tougher (hate runs on passed balls ) and even it's a demo the game looks quite sharp. Like the wide camera while batting. Hitting for me is not a problem but scoring consistently is.

I've been playing on HOF, but am having trouble hitting for the gaps. I've managed a few home runs in my games but most everything else is singles. I may need to try some on AS.

I haven't gotten the demo because I don't want to ruin my enjoyment come March 3rd but you guys are making it real hard to resists. Fortunately a 3-4 hour download a POSN is countering that.

That download did indeed suck! It was almost as bad as the Burnout Paradise download from a few nights ago. But, I understand you wanting to wait. Most of the "little things" aren't going to be noticed in the demo. I think you'd come away not as impressed as you might think. I'm expecting more from the finished version.

I downloaded the demo this weekend. Can't wait to get the full version. I do have a question regarding hitting.

Please correct me if I am wrong. As far as plate coverage goes. It seems that you move the plate coverage indicator prior to the pitch guessing the location. So after the pitch, you do not move the left stick at all and hit the X for timing.

Is this how you guys hit? I find myself moving the left stick as the pitch is coming in. I thought that would move the indicator but realize that doing this after the pitch it would just affect whether I hit a grounder or a fly ball depending on how I move the stick.

Just picked up a PS3 160 GB on a trade in deal and downloaded and played the demo - Holy F*ck! I've read you guys raving about this series and now I can see why. I've always thought that the Pro Evo / Fifa was the apex of sports video gaming but after playing just the demo I can see that this series belongs right there with them - if not above them.

And I'm not even a huge baseball fan. 8O

Best wishes,

Doug

Roster Vault Feature

Following in the footsteps of the My Slider feature, we’ve put more control in the user’s hands. Community shared content leverages the creativity of user’s like you. And if you’re one of the users that love to customize rosters and share with others, you know how difficult it’s been in the past to relay your settings to other users. The Roster Vault in MLB 09 The Show solves that problem. The Roster Vault allows you to make all your roster changes (some new to this year), save them off, and upload them for others to download and use.

I want this game so badly, but wife and I discussed about curbing our spending (over our budget the past few months) so all new game purchases are halted until further notice.

This sucks, I guess I will just play MLB 08 while you guys are having a blast with 09.

By the way, has anyone noticed that the Quick Play feature seems to be even faster than last year? I know for the first handful of games I'll play on the normal pace to see all the new additions. However, it won't be long before it's back to Quick Play.
