If that's the case, he'll likely be replacing Allen as well. I doubt Shanny takes another job without control of personnel as well.
Thats the talk on the NFL network too...

To think they just signed both those guys to 4 yr extensions last year...A bit goofy those Bucs.

Allen got fired along with Gruden, so it everything fits. That at least makes some sense as to why they canned both of them.

Haven't idiot owners learned that this recipe doesn't work. I thought NFL owners were getting away from that thinking? That was part of the problem in Tampa. Bruce Allen and Jon Gruden were basically the same. Bruce gave Jon whatever he wanted so Allen was basically Jon's puppet man.

If you were an owner trying to fill seats you could either hire a (future) hall of fame coach & let him run the show, or hire a 32 year old assistant coach from somewhere like USC & force him do whatever some GM tells him. Most season ticket holders would prefer option 1 regardless of the outcome.

This doesn't make any sense but here's another theory regarding the Bucs courtesy of ESPN.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3839578

"The surprising firings of Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen are expected to yield the quick hiring of Raheem Morris as head coach and Mark Dominik as general manager, according to multiple sources."

Well there must be some truth to the story because the St. Pete Times has linked the tampabay.com on their website saying Raheem Morris will be the next HC on the Bucs.

Although you never know how a coordinator (*cough* Linehan) is going to turn out as HC, Spags is a solid choice. He's been around, paid his dues and worked for a hard ass like Coughlin.

Congrats to all Rams fans !

Hey Jinxy...There is a whole half left and the plays were there. McNabb missed them.

It was nice of the Eagles to give the Cards those 3 pts at the end of the half with that pathetic hit.

Though not as viscious...I had visions of Martin slamming McMahon...

Eagles playing like dooky.

Why the hell is everyone so upset over the kickoff call? On the reverse view it CLEARLY hit Abiamiri in the forearm when his foot was out of bounds. Yes, the ball never went out of bounds but the Cards didn't get screwed there. Easy to see. Not that it matters.

And the mountain just got bigger to climb for Philly. 24-6 and they fumbled the ball.

Ref called the ball out of bounds (which was wrong) that is a penalty. When a ball is ruled out of bounds it cannot be reviewed. On FOX's replays you could see the ball hit Abiamiri's forearm on the reverse view that they only showed once. His foot was like 8 inches out of bounds when that happened. Thus, Cards didn't get screwed. Everything else is going their way though.

We will have to disagree. According to the Fox guy the ead of refs admitted to a bad call.

The NFL already admitted at half time the refs got the call wrong & it should have been a Live ball. How often do they do that?

I guess so but seeing is believing to me. Refs got the call wrong but it all worked out because of the ball being touched out of bounds. Oh well.
