2008 NFL Season

Cards WRs vs. the Eagles secondary is a great matchup.
There will be some chances for the Cards because the Eagles are going after Warner who can be pressured.
Samuel is aggressive, sometimes greedy, trying to undercut everything. Eli couldn't get the ball outside when Samuel was sitting inside hoping for a pick-6.
Under better weather conditions though, you don't try that against Fitzgerald.
In the AFC, I don't see Ravens scoring more than 10 points. But Pittsburgh can put up at least a TD more. The limits of smash-mouth.
Looking like an all-PA matchup.

Yeah i'm rooting for the Cards because of Warner but the best match up will probably be between the Eagles and the AFC winner which will probably be Pittsburgh.hellbent wrote:Let's hope for the sake of having 2 great games next weekend that the Cards stay hot. Yep...Id like the Cards to win also but I just dont see it.Rodster wrote:Yeah i'm rooting for the Cards because of Warner but the best match up will probably be between the Eagles and the AFC winner which will probably be Pittsburgh.hellbent wrote:Let's hope for the sake of having 2 great games next weekend that the Cards stay hot. Grats to the Eagles and Steelers...Who will most likely be next week winners as well... Though I do think the Ravens have a shot.
Hell yeah the Ravens have a shot. If they weren't both in the AFC they would probably meet in the SB. I think if Suggs doesn't play, he'll be sorely missed by the Ravens.
The Steelers are just too big and physical which is why Miami didn't stack up well against the Ravens. Also Flacco has just been doing enough not to give the game away and for a rookie that's pretty damn impressive. What's even more impressive is the job Mike Tomlin has done with the Steelers.
My only wish is that Ray Lewis or someone else on the Ravens lights up Hines Ward.

Since when are power offense and bone-rattling defense boring?fletcher21 wrote:Pitt vs Baltimore is gonna be a snooze fest... 2 boring ass teams
Pittsburgh's third-quarter performance today was one of the most awesome displays of football I've seen in years. That was just physical domination of the highest order. Loved every play of it.
What do you want? Pairs ice dancing? Synchronized swimming?
Take care,

Wow...do you like football, fletch? I'm a little biased, but I can't think of a matchup that I'd rather see, than Round 3 between these 2 heavyweights in what is sure to be a slugfest for the ages played in the cold of Heinz Field. For my money, it don't get any better than that.fletcher21 wrote:Pitt vs Baltimore is gonna be a snooze fest... 2 boring ass teams

Baltimore does nothing for me on the offensive side of the ball. Pitt does nothing for me besides fwp. I like high powered offenses, like when Arizona has Boldin, Breaston and Fitz all on a roll and are throwing 50-60 times a game. I am not a "fan" of one team, I just love the game. I'm pulling for the Eagles to win, since I really like Westbrook. Also, I've won the Sb on Madden 3 years in a row and dominated people with the Eagles, so there's that too
Superbowl will be Pitt vs Philly in an all PA shootout. I like Philly to beat Pitt, but I honestly think if Baltimore wins, Philly has a really tough matchup against them. I'm not a fan of Pitt for some reason.

I guarantee you many of those tickets will be going to Eagles fans. Eagles fans will be a BIG presence in AZ on Sunday.dbdynsty25 wrote:That's actually pretty embarrassing since they needed two extensions to sell out the wild card game. The offensive playcalling by the Giants was just terrible. I couldn't believe some of the plays they ran and the situation they ran them in. I think if they had continued to pound the ball with Jacobs and Ward, they could have worn down the Eagles small defensive line.
I have no idea who will win the NFC matchup. Philly is hot but so are the Cards, and I like Arizona especially if Boldin comes back. But Jim Johnson has the Eagles defense playing better than anyone except possibly the Steelers.
Love the Ravens/Steelers matchup next week. There will be some hitting in that game.

That Philly line seems a bit skinny. Then again, so did Carolina at -9.5 last weekend.greggsand wrote:Early lines are Philly -3 & Pitt -5 (depending on where u look)...

I agree. I am a HUGE Eagles fan and love their chances but Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN.com is a bit overboard with his view on the upcoming NFC Title game (see link below). I am by no means looking past Arizona. I have gone thru four of these title games and the Birds were "supposed" to win three of them. As we all know they only won one (ATL 2004). Az is a dangerous offensive squad and they are at home. Again, I like the Eagles chances but slow your roll Gene.Brando70 wrote: I have no idea who will win the NFC matchup. Yeah, I don't want to look past the Cards either. Kinda glad that the line isn't crazy.
I started pacing after that Donovan phone stunt. Game wasn't quite over then yet, pal. Then Lurie came down, smiling...
I thought they were jinxing themselves.
I think the Eagles will win next week in a close one, facing Pittsburgh in Tampa.

That's almost as much of an understatement as Wojciechowski's overstatementDiablo25 wrote:Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN.com is a bit overboard with his view on the upcoming NFC Title game (see link below).

I think the Eagles will win because they have a better defense, but they have done a really poor job running the football in both their playoff games. That's always a concern in the playoffs, even for a West Coast offense team like Philly. Meanwhile, Arizona waltzed in and kicked the snot out of a good Carolina team that was probably the best team in the NFC during the second half of the season.
I can't bring myself to think "Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl" but they have as much momentum as the Eagles and home field. Best thing the Eagles can do is score early and deflate a fanbase that is always waiting for that patented Cardinal cock punch.
Beat me to it. I just heard this on 620 WDAE The Sports Animal in Tampa. Bruce Allen the GM was also fired. I don't have a problem with the firings except that the owners gave Gruden an extension. Not sure how much of it is guaranteed. Good move though as the team has been sputtering lately with bad personnel decisions.XXXIV wrote:Gruden is now available to coach your team...
