Maybe, but Plexico made the Superbowl-winning play and the threat he presents in single coverage helps give their running game room.

The fact that they would even make that threat would make me want out. I am glad he is doing the interview...screw BC.

Rumor is that Jags has a clause in his contract that he can't entertain other jobs until after his third season. He has only been at BC for two seasons.

Channel 7 of Boston is reporting that he has been fired now.

Nothing amuses me more than seeing university presidents and athletic directors acting as the arbiters of fairness and decency in college sports. LOL

I know since the BC AD and President both lied to the Big East that they were committed to the conference then a couple of months later left.

NFL scouts don't like QBs from spread offenses.

Or maybe Heisman-winning QBs:

Cant blame em the track record is very poor....but...they are

Different games...Bigger,faster etc etc...

Doesnt make winning a Heisman any less an accomplishment.

Archie Griffin a RB won two of them . Never had much of a pro career.

Last I checked he still one of the greatest college players ever.

Well based on what i've been reading in the Miami Herald it's looking more and more like Bill Parcells will be leaving and Carl Peterson will be brought in to run the team. I will be pissed if this is true but it's looking to be the case with each passing day.

Nice way for the new owner to get off on the wrong foot with Dolphin fans. Carl Peterson is a terrible GM and he was rightly let go by KC. Hell why not bring in Herm "we play to win the game" Edwards as coach.

Stephen Ross will be bad for Miami as he appears to be a mold of the new owners who wants to be hands on with the team which is the direct opposite of Wayne H.

I thought Parcells announced he was staying for another year yesterday.

Delaware plays that offense, and Flacco's done well so far.

Actually Parcells has been rather silent on the whole issue with the exception of his leaked contract to his friend Mort at ESPN. Wayne H. and Stephen R. both have said they expect Bill to stay. With the recent developments of Carl P. I seriously doubt that unless they plan on firing Brian Wiedmeier whose is the Dolphins President.

Even so if Ross makes that move The Tuna will see it differently and feel threatened. Ross appears to be more in the mold of Jerry Jones or Dan Synder. I seriously doubt BP will stay and he'll just be happy with his buyout of $12 million for 1 years work. I can't blame him a bit. It was Wayne who signed the stupid contract and then reneged on the deal.

There are too many teams who want The Tuna's service and Stephen Ross is an idiot for chase off BP and replacing him with Peterson who ruined the Chiefs. But at least he brought in Herm Edwards so we can't blame him for all of their failures.

It's not that they don't like them, it's that the spread offense can inflate a QB's value as an NFL passer.

The Heisman is really stats driven and a QB-dominated award. The problem is that quarterback statistics are probably the most deceptive in terms of predicting NFL success. If a player rushes for 1500+ yards or catch for 1200+, that's a decent predictor that they will succeed as an NFL RB or WR. If a player throws for 3,000+ yards, that's not nearly as predictive, because you can be flawed physically as a QB and still be productive in college. The Heisman QB winners tend to come from those QB systems that inflate their stats. They are great college players but don't have the physical ability to compete in the NFL.

Both Bradford and Tebow have the skill sets to succeed, though. Bradford is pretty ready right now for the NFL. He's big enough, has great touch on his passes, and makes reads quickly.

Tebow needs a lot of polish to be an NFL passer, but he definitely has the size and physical ability to succeed. I also like his passion for the game, and he's one of those players who I think would really dedicate himself to making the NFL transition. The best thing that could happen to him would be to go to a team like the Colts, where he could be groomed to take over a proven but aging starter. My guess is that, if he declares, he'll go too early and get pressed into service before he's ready.

Remember when the Rams drafted Crouch and wanted him to play WR? I'd draft Tebow and make him a TE. He'd rock that position...

The comparison between Crouch and Tebow is not very good. Tebow plays in an offense that is not one dimensional. Tebow throws the ball far more often than Crouch did.

Crouch on the other hand... Owns most every QB rushing record at Nebraska, which is saying a lot when you look at all the great rushing QB's from Nebraska. He had almost as many rushing yards as he did passing.

P.S. Crouch is still playing football (Quarterback) in a league most people have never heard of. Actually waiting for 2009 as they delayed the start a year.

Shhhhh. He might hear you and leave early for the draft. Some of us Sooner fans want to keep him hear another year.

You are correct though, he does have the skill set right now to play pro ball.

Ha, I don't blame you. And he probably is not looking forward to going to the Lions, so maybe he will stay. But I think it would be pretty hard for someone to walk away from top 5 pick status.

I haven't watched him a lot, but saw a few of the OU games. I especially like the way he makes reads. Most spread QBs get their stats by throwing high percentage passes to athletic receivers and letting them do the work. Bradford really goes through his progressions like a pro. The NFL has a fairly high bust factor built in, because there are so many variables to whether a player will succeed, but I think he has Carson Palmer potential, if not better.

ESPN and other media outlets are reporting that SD's Vincent Jackson was arrested early this morning for DUI. I hate to celebrate another man's misfortune but, as a Steelers' fan, I'm wondering whether the guy will be allowed to play this weekend. Apparently, he was on probation for an earlier DUI.

Did he pull a Barkley? Honestly his response to the cop was absolute brilliance lol!

Opinion seems to be split between Stafford and Bradford on which would be the first QB drafted.

The knock against Bradford seems to be that he doesn't play in a pro offense and that he may not really be tested because he has great protection that he won't have in the NFL.

A local talk show host claimed that an NFL GM told him someone else would be the first player in the draft if he came out. I heard only the last bit of it so I missed the name but they were saying he'd be the first even though he doesn't have the size and people might question his arm strength. So maybe it was McCoy or Harrel.

He'll play. This matter won't be address until next season (most likely). BUT, he's probably looking at a good suspension as it's his 2nd DUI now.

Poor Pacman, his past is haunting him again. No longer a Dallas Cowboy.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3817195

Welpers that experiment failed miserably Jerry. To the next team that considers putting Pacman on their roster next year. Watch the Eagle game, the guy is starting to become as worthless on the field as he is off the field.

Oh and from the story - We have an Atlanta nightclub and shooting with possible NFL player involvement. Now where have I heard that story before?

Love defensive battles.

To the Ravens...Great win...Tough as nails s***.

To the NFL... Either start taking delay of game seriously or remove the clock.

Sometimes its called at 00...sometimes its called after 1 second and today it was ignored for 2 seconds....

IT DOES RAISE THE QUESTION.

How does the ref decide wether he wants to call it or not? ...By who he likes?...or his personal incompetence?
