The other night I went to Canadian Tire for a few things in winter boots and jogging pants.

The only thing I wax is the blade of my hockey stick. ;)
A true Canadian man. I love it.

You can be casual and still have a sense of style. It's one thing to look casual, it's another to look like you're pushing 40 yet still dress like you're 18.

ok, before people think i wear boots everywhere and have a selection of jogging pants, I do normally dress in jeans and tshirt, or golf shirt if i'm "dressing up", and can actually play dress up if the occasion calls for it, lol

I stillthink wax is only for skis, sticks, or digging out of your ear........

We do, every August with my wife's family. We've been going for about ten years now. I love the island and it's always a great week where I can completely relax. Should be even more fun this year when my daughter's old enough to enjoy the beach.

yea, we go first week in June every year before it gets too hot. I used to think it was boring but now that I have a daughter, I really enjoy that it is so family friendly.

I'm against the new bridge going in there though.

I am too. I'll miss the top-of-the hour rally race to beat the bridge opening up to boat traffic. :D

It's definitely not the most happening place, but I love that I have no real agenda. Just swimming, reading, and drinking. We've also rented a house on the ocean row the last few years, which makes for some nice nights out on the deck.

Well, since Paul, JackB1, Adam, Terry, Don, Piggy and Grant have posted their pics I might as well post a few from June 2006:

By a process of elimination, you should have me narrowed down to one of two guys. Choosing the more communist-looking guy you'll know who I am ;)

P.S.
(1) Terry, I'm trying to reconcile your picture with the online chats we had when racing. I guess you're one of those guys who walks softly but carries a big stick?

(2) Adam, you seem as pleasant a chap in your picture as you do on Teamspeak.

(3) Paul... I'm speechless.

Well, he's married to a German lady...

At least you weren't booing Alex Wurz or my purple poncho :)

Your friend, wearing an England shirt and a shirt sponsored by the people who employ me, is a man of some taste.

I was about to ask why that man in the background of the second picture looked like Alex Wurz...

Ha ha. I'm relieved you didn't include his hat among your evidence for his sense of taste.

The story about Wurz is pretty funny since I was the only person in our group who recognized him. He was about to be interviewed by that lady for some German TV station (Silke said she had a German accent and wondered why the guy she was talking with sounded Austrian). Anyway, they were sitting in OUR seats when we arrived on race day and the immediate reaction from my friends was to ask them to move. My first reaction was to walk up to the guy and ask, "Excuse me, but do you just happen to look like or are you actually Alexander Wurz?" He said, "Yes I am." Being the swift person I am, I responded with "... Coool ..."

Later I took out my favourite zoom lens (at the time) and snapped one shot while the cameraman's assistant had his reflector out. Unfortunately, I was shooting from the wrong side to make good use of the fill light (notice the darker shadow over his left eye than across his right cheek) ...

Funny thing is we ran into him again this summer on the streets of Montreal.

Holy sh*t, that IS Alex Wurz in the background of your second picture!

Cool!

Wurz is regarded as one of the nicest and smartest guys in the paddock, so I'm not surprised he was cool.

Take care,
PK
