The real inconvenient truth

Snow in Malibu and Vegas?

So do all the "scientists" go back to '70's logic that we are headed for another ice age? Can someone please take the Oscar and Nobel peace prize away from Gore?

Politics and science aside, that's pretty crazy. Would be fun to be there.

Global warming is soo 2007. It now falls under the term "climate change". This way we are covered not matter what happens.

Just this morning the climate changed from 1 degree to almost 11 degrees by 10am. At this rate we will all be incinerated by the end of tomorrow. Clearly there is something going on here that we need to address.

Point is that every time Al Gore speaks.

http://blog.algore.com/2008/12/speech_in_poznan.html

We have to overcome the paralysis that has prevented us from acting and focused unblinkingly on this crisis as opposed to spending so much time on OJ Simpson and Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith.

Say what?

It's snowed in vegas 3 out of the last 5 years. Not exactly the craziest of circumstances. Now Malibu, that's a different story.

Maybe they can box the snow up and send it up to Greenland and other places where the glaciers are melting.

I always love how one freak cold weather spot brings cries of "global warming is a myth!" For every one freak weather event you could probably find a prolonged climate issue that indicates real change. How about this one from yesterday: 2 Trillion Tons of Polar Ice Lost in 5 Years, and Melting Is Accelerating

Do I personally think global warming is a real and an issue to be concerned with? Don't really know, but I do believe mankind has had a negative impact on Earth and her ecology. And much of the damage we have done can never be undone - lost species of plants and animals, for example.[/url]

It isn't just one incident, bro. The whole damned thing is a big sham. Not one shred of truth to it, from a human standpoint. We don't warm the earth, and we don't cool it. It's just a bunch of hippie nonsense. The damned glaciers haven't always been here, and they won't always be here-who cares? Adaptation is and has been a wonderful staple of life on this lil' ball, and life will go on.

Amen. At least this Global Warming crap gives the academics something to do other than corrupting young minds.

Global warming is a hoax, just like the Apollo landing and female orgasms. It's a bunch of academic gobbledegook designed to confuse people who know better than to get their science from scientists.

Global surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the 100 years ending in 2005. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes that most of the temperature increase since the mid-twentieth century is "very likely" due to the increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations.
Gosh, it's just so hard to choose which side of the argument is more credible. Almost as hard as deciding whether to believe the Earth is 6,000 or 4.5 billion years old.

I dare say we should be far more concerned that a large comet and/or meteor impact can have on our ability to survive vs. simple weather fluctuations caused by various natural geologic and cosmic changes.

Global Warming mania is all about political power and control...the hard science just isn't there to support the theories.

If we could only get all those cows to stop farting we'd be fine. One more reason to eat them rather than save them ;)

The area where I live used to be covered by glaciers at one time. I am so glad Gore wasn't around then to stop it.

I could post examples from both sides, that was not really the point. The point is to mock eco-terrorists like Al Gore, who live in glass houses, that happen to emit more carbon into the air than a small city.

http://windfarms.wordpress.com/2008/08/ ... -big-boat/

Do as I say, not as I do. Yea, wonder how many carbon credits he took in from GIM, to help pay for that bad boy.

There are plenty of studies out there that show that humans contribute only a small fraction of carbon emissions, compared to mother earth, herself.

Once again Penn & Teller calling Gore out with his Bullshit (another fine episode of Bullshit).

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2008/07/27/p ... n-credits/

The other episode where they get a bunch of hippies to sign a petition to ban water is also a classic. I think it was called environmental hysteria.

People who actually read past the headlines in newspapers, such as myself, will point out the following.

- No one ever said 'global warming' was what literally happens...in fact, few, if any scientists use that term. What is, undeniably happening, is 'climate change'.

- For a lot of areas, this has, indeed resulted in warmer average temperatures, which can be empirically measured going back 100-200 years. What is happening elsewhere is not an increase in temperature, but in the number and severity of freak weather patterns or extremes.

- If this results in changes to systems which have been longlasting (such as the Gulf Stream or El Nino), then there will be significant changes to the general climates of large regions.

Putting your head in the sand, through wilful ignorance or other reasons, will not, I'm afraid, make it go away.
"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."

Whether a person believes in "global warming/climate change/whatever you want to call it" or not, does not mean they have their head in the sand, regarding the environment. My issue is with people who are hypocrites and those who actually try to make green in regards to green.

In the past year I have planted up to 50 trees (most on our farm but a couple around the homestead). I recycle, keep my thermostat at standard levels and never litter.

Some people are simply doers, others are complainers and then there are the protesters.

Radical thought coming in 3...2...1...

Maybe these hippies would be better served spending less time preaching to wind and more time doing something positive. Can you imagine how much excess waste and carbon emissions they create at these protests and rallies? For an example watch the Penn & Teller where they dupe the people into protesting against water. Every other hippie there is drinking BOTTLED WATER, you see them littered on the ground.
