No, everyone is not available as a subtitute for ML matches. Your available subs bench is pretty large though, but I don't recall the exact number.silky4 wrote:Have they changed the substitutes list in Master League? In We9, everyone was available as a substitute in ML matches, as if it was a friendly. Has that bug been fixed? I've been playing FIFA 09 for a while but was thinking about picking this one up...
I picked this one up and am absolutely addicted to Become A Legend mode. I've created a WF and signed with Malaga. It took me about 9 games to get on the bench, and a few more before finally making the first team. It really draws you in, and you start cursing players for making dumb mistakes and not passing the ball (not to me, just to SOMEONE!! STOP TRYING TO DRIBBLE THROUGH PEOPLE!!! sorry) I love this mode...it's got a grown man up until 3 am on weeknights
I was playing FIFA 09 for a long while, but I just had to fight with it too much. I finally got it to play realistically by modifying the custom tactics of the CPU to play its defensive line deep and lowered the aggression to "contain". I also modified mine in a similar fashion, and got the CPU to slow down and take its time. I also found that using all manual controls for FIFA produced the most organic gameplay, though it was extremely tough to get a hang of. The problem though was that, on all manual control, the attributes of the players was rendered meanignless. It didn' t seem to matter who was making the passes, they were equally difficult reagrdless of the skill level of the player making them. Thus, on all manual, I couldn't differentiate between players. They all felt the same, taking a lot of the fun out of Manager Mode (what's the point of signing a playmaking genius if his passes won't be any better than the scrub he's replacing?).
PES 09, on the other hand, doesn't have this problem. Initially I had the problem of my defenders pulling out of position too much, but found that if I jockey (R2 on Ps3) and maintain my position, they maintain theirs. I also immediately noticied how different each of the players felt (as always with WE/PES). Also, something no one has talked about, but they have slightly tweaked the mechanics of the manual pass. Before, well, in WE8/9, I had to push the right stick and "click" down on it to make a pass. Very awkward. Now, you only have to push the stick in the direction you want and release it when you're ready to pass. Much more intuitive and fluid. And yet, it's easier to do it with Xavi than with some second division scrub player. And you can pull off some sweet, flowing passing manouvers this way. I love to thread a long through ball down the wing, and have my striker bend his run to meet the pass.
With BAL mode on PES being so dope, and Manager Mode having its problems in FIFA (player growth unrealistic, scheduling problems, CPU not managing lineups properly etc.), I am taking FIFA back (I don't play online)

I could have played MM had the teams switched line-ups. But when Man City get Tevez and then don't even play him what's the point.silky4 wrote:I picked this one up and am absolutely addicted to Become A Legend mode. My problem with BAL is that went the FIFA route. I'm starting at Newcastle but there are better players. I wish it would have been more realistic.

Have any of you tried a superpatch for this game you like? I checked and currently patch 0.5 is out and 1.0 is available but the site wants to charge to download it.

Hey I found another file. It's called Donanimx.com PES 2009
http://downloads.gamingaccess.com/index ... e_id=34480
Will it work on the PC and is it necessary with Superpatch?

Details regarding Patch 2.4 and 2.5
Great news about the GamingAccess Community Patch Update 2.4 that we will be releasing in a few days!
a) Thanks to FCH we were able to remove the Shiny Grass from stadiums! Check out the Stamford Bridge screenshot! So we will be also adding a new stadium to the game : Emirates Stadium and a new version of Allianz Arena.
b) More new faces added to the patch ( including Mystiq latest pack )
c) Kits for new National Teams ( Angola, Mali, Morocco, Bolivia, Venezuela, Honduras) and we have added also Trinidad and Tobago.
d) UEFA CL Kits for Arsenal and Chelsea ! Check out the screenshots.
e) We are working on PES Stats Database. We are not sure if we will include the new stats in this update ( there is a lot of work to do ) or we will include them in update 2.5.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I found out that this utility installs 250 teams but is it needed with the other patches?

Squid I installed the file to my Windows Temp folder and it has the same teams as when you apply the Superpatch except the Superpatch gives you a lot more. Bottom line is I didn't install it to the game.fsquid wrote:no idea about that other file you are posting about.
I did find out their are a plethora of user created Stadiums created for PES 2009. The problem is I have no clue how to install them.

Has anyone added stadiums to this game? Boy I found Celtic Stadium and I would love to add this to PES 2009.

Squid the problem is when I extract those files they all come up as unnamed.
It appears the game is locked at 19 stadiums. I installed all those files in the directory you said and I still get the original 19 to choose from.
What really sux is that PES 6 which I have for the PC, I have like over a hundred stadiums as that version was more editable.
