Doesn't work.GameSeven wrote:I've got a HDD install question that I think I know the answer to, but I'll ask anyway. I can't test this because I've really no room to reasonably install a full game.
For obvious reasons, the disc is required to start a game, but does a game cease if the disc is ejected after authentication has taken place? I'd guess the game ends, but it would be nice for households with more than one system and a system link game to be able to play with one copy of the game.
Live update.

The main thing I'm watching on Netflix is Red Dwarf and the old Doctor Who shows. They are all marked as only being available until December 1st. Will they be gone for good or are they replacing them with other episodes? Why are they leaving?
If it turns out they are gone then it's bye-bye Netflix. Those were the shows keeping my subscription.
Geez, with my move to a new house tomorrow I'm losing Speed channel and now possibly my Doctor Who's. I might have to actually read books now!

It's impossible to say, but the reason given by Netflix, IIRC, is the fluid nature of licensing agreements. As a result, it's not definite that they are gone forever, but the prospects don't look good.Gurantsu wrote:Will they be gone for good or are they replacing them with other episodes? Downloaded this tonight and it's terrific. I love the netflix option. Just saw a few episodes of 30 Rock and they were picture perfectly clear. Just as good as if I had it on dvd.
XBL 1 year @ $50 is a steal now with netflix on board.

I have about 30 titles in my 'Watch Now' queue so I don't think there is any limitation.ScoopBrady wrote:I upgraded my Netflix account to take advantage of the streaming and it is definitely an awesome feature. Are there any limits to how much you can stream per month?
I wish Netflix was available here in Canada....
Another question. Some of you on my friends list have backgrounds behind your avatars, like space ships, the orignal Xbox, etc. How do you get something there? Or does it change depending on the last thing you played?

It either seems to be random or perhaps changes the longer your friend is offline...Gangrel wrote:I wish Netflix was available here in Canada....

Alright, new question. With the last update, you can now have a resolution of 1680 x 1050 in the settings.
I have a 21.6" monitor, and the max resolution is 1680/1050. My desktop fills the screen, etc.
When I change my xbox to use 1680 X 1050, which is hooked into the monitor using the VGA cable, I see black bars on the top and bottom of the screen, both in the Dashboard and in any games. Should this not match up and fill the screen?
Or am I misunderstanding something on how the Xbox sends out the signals?
edit: never mind. I did some poking around and I guess Xbox is designed for 16x9 screens, and mine is a 16x10. I understand games wouldn't use it, but I would have though the dashboard would at least??
I swear when I play NHL at 1050, the guys look a bit wider, but maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks.....
