I do have to thank them for teaching me something -- I didn't know you couldn't have pass interference on a fake punt or field goal.
Despite the two wins, the Rams are the worst team in the league because they look like they just don't care any more. At least the Lions and Chiefs are still making an effort to win.
As for Cassell, there is no way he stays in New England next year if he keeps playing well. Too many teams need starting QBs and he's playing too well to be Brady's backup again.
I also have no idea what Andy Reid is doing in Philly. I don't think he does either.
I'd love for the Rams to sign Cassel, but I don't see it happening. They still have Bulger under contract unfortunately. They'll sign an offensive tackle in the first round with intentions of drafting a QB in the later rounds.
Knowing the Rams though, they'll try and convert the QB to a linebacker....

Would be nice to try even if he turns out to be a bust

Brando Im glad the Rams were of some service. Proving you can find a use for anything.

Well, I wouldn't back the Brink's truck up for him. But he will get more money and a chance to start for someone else next year. I doubt he passes on that to re-sign with NE.

I'm an Eagles fan, and that performance had me tasting vomit all afternoon. Gotta believe the team is now gone without major changes.
Even blew up my silver-lining:
'Well, at least Kolb looks like he'll be able to get 'em in the endzone, maybe that will build up his...oh...'
108 Yrds.
It's odd the way Reid did it. To yank McNabb the way he did and throw in Kolb, on the road against the Ravens, surprised me. I could see if McNabb continued to have a bad day and he made a switch. Now he's stuck, because if he plays McNabb, McNabb is simply going to be auditioning for a starting job next year. If he plays Kolb, he's throwing up the white flag on the season when they are still in playoff contention, at least theoretically.

You're gonna be very surprised then. His numbers are almost identical to Brady's through 11 games. Someone is going to grossly overpay...a la Schaub a few years back in Houston. I am betting Cassell makes even more. KC, San Fran, St. Louis, Minnesota, Detroit and I'm sure a few more...money to burn, and teams that need a franchise QB.
McNabb is almost certain to get released since his money isn't guaranteed. I would have expected him to renegotiate his deal to be more cap friendly, but it looks like he's getting ridden out of town. Big mistake by Philly if that happens. McNabb is not the player he once was but, like WCO said, he still has some good years left.
My guess is he goes somewhere else and has a return to form for a year or two. I could see teams like the Vikings and Bucs falling over themselves to sign him.

It did look like a play from NFL2k5...
Ha, that's totally true. It wouldn't have shocked me to see Kevin Payne running in a circle.
Someone also needs to tell Ron Turner that the FB dive is not as effective in real life as it is in Madden.
The Bears are who we thought they were. There have been some pleasant surprises: Orton, Forte and expecially the OL, but at the end of the day they're the mediocre team that they looked like coming out of camp.
What's worse is that being in the football-challenged NFC North gives Lovie and Angelo the cover of being able to hide behind the illusion of competitiveness and "one game at a time" cliches rather than deal with the hard decisions that need to be made about the future of the team.
In other words, more of the same.

The hit that Ryan Clark laid on Wesley Welker during yesterday's Steelers-Pats game was one of the hardest hits I've ever seen. I don't know how in the world Welker was able to get up and walk off the field after that one...he must be one tough dude. Man, what a hit.
Someone needs to tell Marc Bulger that there are guys between him and his receivers. How many times did he look past the defender to throw to his receiver...only to get picked? Those were two HORRIBLE throws...that pretty much gave Miami the game since they were having a tough time stopping the Rams in general between the 20's.

I enjoyed it...one of my favorites this year!
Now the issue is why has Miami looked so bad for like 4 weeks in a row now? Apparently they just aren't very good...and they've been lucky. So I guess, all of that bad luck last year that had them lose a ton of close games is coming back to them this year and they are getting the flip side. That's the only reasoning I can come up with. They haven't looked particularly good on either side of the ball...but they do have 6 more wins than last year. LOL. Awww well.

I love the Steelers, but that was a dirty hit by Clark. There was no need to hit Welker in that situation let alone leave your feet to do it. He deserves a big fine. Those types of plays should have been retired with George Atkinson or left to the Rodney Harrison's of the NFL.
Of course, if the NFL does fine Clark it will be typical hypocrisy since they showed the hit while previewing one of their highlight shows this evening.
It was a nice win for the Steelers but Ike Taylor's taunting penalty was embarrassing as well. The Steelers shouldn't be allowed to do any taunting until they can beat the Patriots in a playoff game.

The optimist Dolphin fan in me is thinking that Miami hasn't looked good yet they are still winning games; so if they do play their best, they can run the table and make the playoffs.
But you're right, they haven't looked good lately, especially on defense. Yesterday it seemed more like St. Louis just kept killing themselves rather than Miami stopping them.
The offense is a mystery too. It seems like they move the ball up and down the field, but they just can't score any points.

I also love the Steelers and agree with everything you say, Leebo. But dirty or not, I'm pretty sure I won't see a harder hit this year. That was just brutal, and I'm still amazed at how quickly Welker got up (and under his own power, at that.) My hat's off to the guy.
With all that said, it sure was nice beating the Patriots for a change. Hopefully, the Cowgirls are next.

I don't know why the media hasn't picked up on this as well. They're treating the 7-5 Dolphins like they are a really good team when in reality they are basically the same 6-10 team they were last year. The only difference is they have Chad Penny at QB but more importantly are much better coached as opposed to last years debacle. This team reminds me of the 2003 Cowboys when Parcells took over the team.
He basically lit a fire under their butt and got a few more wins out of them. I say it'll take the Dolphins top brass another 2-3 years of drafts and FA to make them divisional champs and contenders to the SB.
