If you purchase a new MS 120gb it comes with a transfer cable and the process is very easy.

It's there: Guide button -> Settings -> Preferences

I'm baffled that the geniuses behind the 360 haven't figured out a way to allow you to eject the disc without having to walk over to the 360 and hit the eject button. :P

If you got the remote you can do it, or if you have a programmable (like one of the Logitechs) you can set it.

It's in there. Hit the guide button to bring up the little grey box, and go all the way right to 'settings' and select 'preferences.'

It seems to me everything that was in there still is, but may be just a little harder to get to. I'm finding the new deal pretty confusing so far, but I've only messed around with it for a few minutes. The Netflix thing is super cool, but I'm frustrated that even some titles available for 'play now' are not available to be played on Xbox. I'm sure that will get better over time.

Which movies won't play on the 360?

Not a fan. Plus, whenever I cycle through my friend avatars, the damn thing keeps freezing.

Most notably, Sony films. It's also been reported that an unspecified slate will be disapperaing from Netflix streaming in general, such as the BBC Red Dwarf series.

I've locked up twice when exiting a friend's detail window, viewing avatars as you said. Hopefully they know of this and can get to the bottom of it.

Sounds like fun. So what, you have to reinstall all of em when you start up the games again?

Yeah it'll prompt you to accept the game patch when you start up the game the next time.

I'm sort of stunned by the Mii ripoff. I mean, it was obvious what they were doing from the start, but even the interface for customizing your avatar is just like Nintendo's.

I like it all though... Netflix is neat but limited. Friends list has a lot of charm but froze on me too.

I think, once I get used to it, it will be a nice evolution of the interface. I wish there was a way to avoid the avatars when looking at your friends list. But the highlighted stuff (new demos, videos, offers) is much easier to find.

Netflix is cool, but I'm not sure how much I'll use it because of the quality. The wife and I just watched Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? on DVD this weekend, and it looked pretty remarkable on the PS3. It was also in full 16:9. Just to test this out, we tried streaming it. The quality was much grainier (no surprise), but it was also in 4:3, which was very disappointing. I am sure we'll use it, and it's nice to have the option at no extra charge, but I won't be bypassing Blu-Ray discs in my queue anytime soon for this.

You can use the guide button and select 'friends' to see a screen that looks more like the old one, although less friends are displayed without scrolling.

Overall, I think they made using the friends list worse, though. The party feature seems to be the best improvement, IMO.

I like that now when you bring up your friends list this way, it may show fewer friends, but it has more detailed status for them. It's quite useful for sending out invites if you need to know whether your friend is in the middle of an online match or something, rather than having to click on each friend individually to see status details.

I installed Fallout and Burnout Paradise on my 20GD hdd last night... I think I could squeeze one more on there if I'm willing to part with my Oblivion, Halo 3 and Crackdown DLC. Not bad for the gimpy little launch drive.

Is Fallout improved in any way? Load times?

I didn't have a chance to play last night, but a website I was perusing for install sizes said this:

"48 Second load down to 25 load. Timed the loading times for transitioning between inside and outside game environments. Before installing the game, these transitions took about 20 seconds; afterward, it was halved."

I've got a HDD install question that I think I know the answer to, but I'll ask anyway. I can't test this because I've really no room to reasonably install a full game.

For obvious reasons, the disc is required to start a game, but does a game cease if the disc is ejected after authentication has taken place? I'd guess the game ends, but it would be nice for households with more than one system and a system link game to be able to play with one copy of the game.
