I was just going to start an NXE thread. So far so good.

The Netflix integration is exceeding my expectations... Very cool indeed.

Will love installing a game to the HD after I get a larger capacity.

Good times.

The Netflix is very cool, I'm watching Red Dwarf right now. Easy to set up also.

But oh man are the avatars a blatant rip off of the Mii's or what? Even the eye types and other features are almost exact copies.

I have no room to copy any games to the HD, but the Netflix was the only thing I was really interested in anyway.

How does the Netflix work? Do you need a special membership?

If you have a regular Netflix membership and a Gold Live account, you can install a small app from NXE that will give you a 5 character key during setup. Login to Netflix from your PC and enter the code on an activation URL and Netflix establishes the connection for you.

Once that is done, you get the cover art on 360 for the movies in your "Instant" queue. What's great is you can add stuff to your queue from your PC and the XBOX list updates within seconds showing your new title(s). The selection is still a mere subset of the Netflix universe (and Sony titles are a noteworthy exception) but you can find some reasonably good titles as well as TV series. I've loaded up the BBC versions of The Office and Little Britain, for example. It also seems good for loading up some kid flix. There seems to be a mix of titles that support widescreen and letterbox format, although it was a little disappointing that the streaming version of The Neverending Story is Pan-and-Scan.

Movies/shows start in about 30 seconds and you can fast forward and rewind through an interface much like online TV episodes, with a rebuffer time of 15-30 seconds.

Really digging the new interface.

Edit: Those times are laregly subjective and will surely vary based on your connection, but my buffer times are probably closer to 5-10 seconds.

I've watched several movies through the NetFlix thing, I got NXE last Friday. My only two gripes and they are small ones:

1. Having to add the movies via the Netflix web site.

2. The movie selection while large is 90% older movies. It's not like you're going to throw a new release like Wall-E on there anytime soon.

I was a little skeptical but wow...very nice! The menus and everything seem so much snappier now when moving around.

I have a question though. I have my 360 hooked up to my office samsung 225bw lcd monitor. We can now have more options for screen resolutions. My monitor's native resolution is 1680:1050 (16:10) but when I switched the 360 to 1680:1050 it doesn't fill up the entire screen...it leaves about a half inch at the top and bottom. Is that right? Should it be that way? I assumed it would fill the whole screen.

Early impressions are that it's ok, but not a big deal.

Some stuff is definitely better, such as the ability to install to HDD and the party system.

Some changes are worse. The horrible proliferation of ads is eye poison.

Some are just irritating such as the still-clunky media interface, which remains poor, hasn't added elements that should be fundamental such as cover views, and has even added a step to routine functions like shuffling your streaming library.

I think it's great so far...i'm impressed. One truly odd thing though...I installed NHL 09 to my hard drive and when I fired up a game and was playing as the home team...I started out going down instead of going up which is how it normally would be.
And yes...the 20gb drives aren't going to cut it now, i'll probably at least upgrade to the 60gb drive but I think the 120gb is what is needed at least for me.

I think I'm going to try and upgrade my hd by myself. It looks like I can get upgrade to a 120 gig for around $50-$60.

Please share how. I see them on ebay mostly for $80-90, and I'm not sure if that even includes the all important transfer cable.

I used up half of my 60 gig just by installing 3 games with all my DLC. I think a 120 is a must for me in the near future, I was kind of holdingo ut to see if they announced a larger one.

I like the update. I'm not terribly interested in DL'ing too many of my games to the HD-I did DL Left4Dead to the HD, though, as the initial load times are awful. They're quite a bit faster now, from the HD.

But I've already heard that there is not much discernable difference in GoW2, and, in fact, that game suffers as a result. What kind of space would Fallout eat up? Can you DL a game that does streaming?

The only thing I need to figure out is how to transfer the data.

I purchased a 120 GB about a month and a half ago. I figured I would want to add a few games to my HDD after this update and the 20 GB wasn't gonna cut it.

Very nice. I am also contemplating buying a bigger HD most likely 120GB. Is it easy to transfer/copy everything to the new HD?

So far I like what I see. Menus are quick, clean, and attractive.

Designed my avatar. Looks alright other than the fact that he looks 12 years old. :? Avatars are all well and good, but really we have to see something happen with them. I thought Wii avatars were great and loved seeing them in Wii Sports, but then they essentially vanished after that. Unless these things actually have a use it's just a lot of hoopla for nothing.

The big win for me is the pop-up menu when hitting the guide button in-game. Comes up and navigates faster, and shows more information. Good stuff.

Am I missing it or have they taken out the option to set your status to away, busy etc.?
