NBA Ballers: A Surprise Hit?

Apparantly, IGN thinks so:

Though I'm not sure what it can do better than NBA Street.

I played it, it did not impress me at all.

While I haven't played it, the whole idea of bling-bling turns me way off. I like NBA Street for its nostalgia, for not bowing down to the dumbass, egocentric, materialistic 'playa' culture that's so prevalent in the NBA these days.
It feeds young people a big lie and I'm not big on its glorification.

I don't mind the bling bling stuff at all (not that I'm a fan of it mind you), what I have to question is how can a game of 1 on 1 be any fun? You'd think such simplicity would get old rather fast.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

You talkin' like a hater, mang!

Heh, seriously though... I'd be surprised if this game could keep people's attention to the degree that NBA Street could, and even that series couldn't hold it for too long.

Oh, wow, I didn't realise that it was one on one.
That reall does suck. What is this, Jordan vs. Bird on the NES??
I think it's funny that Steve Nash is on the cover. He's so far from that Escalade group, it's not even funny.
