I don't want to be switching discs all the time, and then playing a bunch of the same band all at once.

This continues the bad precedent set by Guitar Hero Aerosmith, where now many 'bigger' bands are going to want their own deals, and the core games become something like 'College Rock Hero,' or 'Indie Band.' ;)
Agreed 100%. Little to no chance I'll get this Beatles game next year, and had no interest in picking up GH:Aerosmith. I'm not crazy about 18 tracks for $40 for AC/DC, but that strikes me as a much more reasonable arrangement; a separately playable disc with exportable tracks.

Apparently GH:Aerosmith did not meet sales expectations, so maybe game publishers won't try this approach for too long.

Anyone having problems with the new drums? I just picked them up today and the connection keeps dropping. The light on the dongle starts blinking and I have to turn the drums off and on to reconnect, very annoying.

Just bought my first ever Rock Band product today...And...my drums won't connect. The dongle is blinking but nadda from the drum set. Can't believe it...feel like I made a huge mistake. I don't have the patience to deal with hardware issues.

Interesting. My drums have been flawless. But, I do know there have been some reported problems with the RB drums and the GH drum set. So, simply return them and pick up a new set. Easy as that.

I have encountered no issues with RB2 drums. Worked perfectly out of the box, and connecting them to my console took all of 5 seconds.

I have the exact same problem as you fanatic. Do I really have to return these through EA? Will the store not take them back? There is a slip in the packaging that says you should not return to the retailer.

Look for GH: Metallica in '09, as there's an advert in GHWT about it. GH: Aerosmith, from what I'd read, had done quite well, actually, but I think they could've done all they did with DLC, even the skins. Actually, maybe not, seeing the amount of motion capture work they had to do for Steven Tyler. :D

I like GH: Aerosmith, but theyr'e gonna have to lower the prices of these packs. Full price for what is essentially an add on is far too much. Put 'em out at 29.99 at the most, and I'd be fine with 'em doing that.

I'm a HUGE AC/DC fan, however, and I'm getting that pack today. Can't resist some Angus Young guitar...

Well I got lucky today I think....

I went back to Future Shop and was first informed that I had to contact Rock Band for instrument issues. My response was, "What about your normal 30 day exchange policy?". Basically, they caved in. On top of that I grabbed the $39 2-year warranty for the set - pricey but I just don't want to deal with EA.

I would try returning to the store and really questioning why this isn't part of their normal return policy - just tell them you wouldn't have bought it if you had known.

2 things:

1) I love the AC/DC track pack

2) It should have been DLC for half the money.

Seriously, at least GH: Aerosmith went the extra mile and actually put AEROSMITH in the game, and packaged it with Aerosmith videos, characters, all that.

I bought it because, well dammit, I love AC/DC, and it was the only way I was going to be able to get it. But when you can take that disc, DL all the songs onto RB2, and toss the disc for all intents and purposes...why the hell put out a separate disc and charge 40 bucks for it?!

BTW...the new album, Black Ice? It's great!

With 18 songs, it would be at least $36 via DLC, right? Apparently AC/DC is not a fan of breaking up their songs for sale, just look at their absence on iTunes.

Selling the AC/DC disc without the code for around 20 bucks or so after you export the songs to your hard drive may be a good way to offset the high price of the disc, there are already listings like this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/AC-DC-Live-Rock-Ban ... 286.c0.m14

Teal, are you doing the Angus walk when you play? :D

Seriously, that's going to be almost impossible for me to resist once I get done with Fallout 3. I think I'll enjoy singing those almost as much as playing the guitar, not to mention tapping into my inner Phil Rudd on the drums.

The separate disk 'track pack' for AC/DC was a complete waste of time. I DL'ed them to my HDD last night, and there's no need to keep the disc. You want it? It's yours for 25 bucks-15 off the Wal Mart price. PM me if you do.

I LOVE the tracks, love that it's live, all that. We could've just had 18 tracks for 25 bucks on Live rather than having to pay 40 for a disc and some cover art. That's it. In fact, it's better as DL content, because the disc is RB1, not 2. I play lefty flip, and in RB1, I had to go in every time I booted the disc and change my preferences, because they didn't save. RB2 does. So now they're all playable on RB2, and voila! My preferences are saved.

Useless way to get AC/DC out there, IMO. But the content is very, very good.

Guitar preferences

Post by barking_dogma »

I'm still prefer my white, corded guitar from GH2. I have the wireless GH3 guitar...but didn't get the RB or RB2 models when they came out. (Tried RB guitar and the fret buttons just aren't "clicky" enough).

I'm going to go ahead and get GH World Tour soon.

My question(s): Is it worth it to go ahead and get the GH WT guitar this go-around? Also, I play mostly Bass when I'm online...I heard the two-fingered bass controller from RB2 is cool...can anyone confirm this?

My first post to this thread...so sorry if this topic has been covered. Thanks for your input.

What if your hard drive goes kabloey or you get a new console?
Might want to keep it around just in case?

Also I think the export code can only be used once, so whoever gets your disc won't be able to export them to their hard drive.

Wow, you just beat me to it! :)

Yeah, me too!

If anyone downloads in the next hour or so, please let me know how big the file is.

Thanks!

EDIT: NM, 540ish mb.

I can handle it, but I'm getting awfully close to spending a stupid amount of $$ for a hard drive. :(

I've been poking around ebay for a new xbox 120gb hard drive. I think you can get one for ~$90 ($150 in stores).

There is a link in this thread I think where you enter a code on your instruction booklet to get a download code for 20 new songs.
