On my way to the radio station I ran into a bunch of raider baddies in a square. Picked up many goodies.

Yup me too. I kicked major ass while in the Super Mart and wound up with all kinds of nice toys. Like a one shot your dead Shotgun and a nice Laser gun.

Has anyone figured out how to use the Food Sanitizer? I got it as a gift while at the supply store. Haven't figured how to use it.

s***, I cleared out the damn SuperMart and didn't get a shotgun! :(

OTOH I may have missed it. Hard to find all the brown/gray items on the brown/gray background of the world LOL

The ants quest just chews up ammo though!!!

Has anyone used the Fatboy yet? That thing has saved my a$$ more than once when i was near dead and just absolutely had to one shot wipe out some of those Super whatevers.

On another note. I was at the bomb in Megaton ready to nuke the town but then realized that i just went back there to sleep and restock Stimpacks etc out of pure necessity...why would i do that! Of course once i find the next settlement bye bye Megaton.

Sounds like a fantastic game. However, I'm sorta glad to hear it's not as "good" on the PS3. I don't feel compelled to purchase it then, and also I'm trying to severely cut back on new game purchases. I also know that this kind of game I would never ever finish.

Gonna rent it soon though! Nice impressions so far.

No I don't think so. I got it a second time. I got it when I killed the baddies in the Super Mart that leads into the Pharmacy.

Im going to have to go back and get it then. It was pretty dark .

Does the game have a flashlight at some point that you can buy or find?

I haven't run into a flashlight yet but in the display settings of the game you can turn up the Gamma.

This whole thread is one big spolier, but I'll be formal and say SPOILER:

-- For starters, I had about 150 rounds of 10mm handgun ammo coming out of the Vault. I found a big stash in the Overseer's office or somewhere nearby.

--The Supermarket sidequest from Moira in Megaton was a high-caliber shopping spree. I found a hunting rifle on a dead Wastelander outside, and used that to pick off the raiders in the store. I used the stealth move to stay hidden in the shadows and pick off initial groups of raiders. They had weapons and the rest of the building was full of weapons.

Right now, at level 4, I have a near-100% 10mm pistol with about 130 rounds, an assault rifle with about 150 rounds, a laser pistol and energy packs, a combat shotgun with about 20 rounds, and a hunting rifle with a few rounds. Plus some grenades and a few mines.

Anyway, it's still early, so I haven't encountered any serious baddies yet. I have my small arms skill up, too, and that's helping me with my VATS attacks. I managed to kill three of the raiders in the supermarket with one-shot sneak attacks, which saved a lot of ammo.

Did I mention that I love this game? :D

My experience on PS3 has been flawless thus far. I only just got out of the Vault though. I'll be playing more this weekend and will let you know.

You know, I'm tired of fighting stupid animals. I don't know why developers think this is fun. In Oblivion it was stupid and here's it's stupid.

I hate it so much that it almost kills the game for me.

This is serious game of the year quality stuff, sportdan, if not one of the best games for this generation of consoles.

I've been navigating this thread trying to avoid the spoilers while searching for an answer to whether I, a non-RPG fan, should buy it.

I never got into Oblivion; I enjoyed KOTOR, but only got about 20% through it. Same thing with Mass Effect, fun for a bit but I quickly lost interest.

With so many good games out, I don't want to waste a purchase on a mistake. Is this game good for a sports/music/shooter gamer?

I'm not a fan of RPGs at all really...the only game that remotely interested me in the genre is Oblivion, and I got sick of it fairly soon.

Fallout is a completely different ballgame. There just seems to be a lot more to do. It helps that there is a lot of shooting and destruction...most of which wasn't in Oblivion making it a little more "sci-fi" rather than real life...which I prefer. Give it a shot...I have yet to talk to anyone who has played it that said they didn't like it...and that includes a lot of sports & shooter only gamers like myself.

My advice would be just RENT it first. Its a great game for what it is but its not for everyone. I'm at level 4 and I'm already starting to wonder how much more I can play this game. Honestly it is a bit too wide open for me and I'm finding the "run around the bleak, nuclear wasteland" pretty annoying at this point. Also the animations for all the animals and people really bug me in how crappy they look compared to other games that I've been playing lately. Everybody moves like a robot.

Anyway, rent first, check it out before buying. I'll probably be trading this in for GOW2 in a couple weeks. Its not a bad game by any means its just not really something I'm finding myself getting lost in like some people on here. Personally I'm enjoying Dead Space much more (see my avatar) along with FIFA and NHL 09.

I reached that point last night...The fourth straight night of wandering wasteland hour after hour was a little too much. They did such a great job with the games environment. Maybe too good :P .. Im taking that break to finish Fable.

The bleakness still has not gotten to me yet. Love the environment and game. This game is 10x better than Oblivion in the immersion factor and it's also better than Oblivion because it's tough. :)

The first Action RPG I have played that makes you pay for being stupid or picking the wrong fight.

The game is as close to a perfect 10 as you can get.
