I'd like to hear some feedback on this as well, as I'm using a home-repaired pedal for my GH1 set as well. The only bad thing is that this company is the same one that made the pedal that came in the pack with the drum sticks and silencers, and many people gave that one poor reviews. This is a different pedal, though.JackB1 wrote:Glad to help! Just let us know how it works once you try it out. I might pick one up to use with my RB1 drums, even though my own personal mod is holding up well. I am hoping the spring mechanism gives a some "bounce back".Spooky wrote:

SPOOKY, hope you didn't go pick that up. I have read numerous reports that pedals designed for Rock Band (including the Rock Band pedals) DO NOT work with GHWT Drums. Now what I do know is that ANY electric drum kit pedal will work. I would do some research on it before rushing out to buy anything. I am not sure how cheap or what they are, but any music store should have them and you will probably just need to buy an adapter to make it plug in. Hope I didn't burst your bubbleSpooky wrote:Jack, you're a GOD for posting this!!! I had no idea and this looks like it might absolutely save my distain for the GH drum kit!!!!!!JackB1 wrote:
I was amazed at all the after market stuff that Best Buy now sells for the RB and GH games now. They had all kinds of drum mod kits, after market wireless guitars and accessories up the ying yang. One thing that really caught my eye was a replacement drum pedal for RB. It was made by Blockhead / Rhythm Maker and you can see it here:

It's only $29 and looks to be very heavy duty and it even had a spring like a real bass pedal. Seems like this would be a HUGE upgrade over the pedal that came with the RB1 drums. Anyone try this?

Damn...I may still have to pick it up and try it as it clearly states that it is for both. But yeah, I already tried my RB pedal on GH's kit and it definitely did not register.SEMINOLE wrote:SPOOKY, hope you didn't go pick that up. Just an update to anyone that cares or may value my opinion. I am going to be selling my GHWT drums. They are just not for me. They don't work correctly in RB and I find them difficult to play. I can play some (not all) songs on hard in both games and find it easier to play with the RB drums. I will be finding a new way to dampen the sound. Either by buying the new drums or buying the GoodWood's mod for them.
The GHWT drums just don't feel right in RB and I can't play them worth a s*** in Guitar Hero. I am sure their is a learning curve there, but why learn it when it will only apply to one game.

It's in an section called 'modify game' or something like that.sportdan30 wrote:Where in the game can you activate the "No Fail" mode? My six year son loves playing the drums, but doesn't necessarily following the notes that well. I've seen him grow rather frustrated, so I thought the No Fail mode will allow him to just wail on the drum set and have fun.
Thanks.

There is also the "Drum Trainer" under Practice ( We talkin' about... Practice ) that he can use to wail away on the kit. I understand that can be done over a music track played from the hard drive, although I've only ever tried it without.sportdan30 wrote:Thanks Web. Still haven't read the instruction manual.....

Rock Band gets the Beatles!
This is just a headline for now:
Breaking News
• The Beatles have licensed songs to MTV Networks' Rock Band videogame series, a coup in the world of rock and roll videogames.

I have to wonder how relevant the Beatles are to the majority of people buying Rock Band, who I imagine are by-and-large an under-30 crowd.webdanzer wrote:Rock Band gets the Beatles!

Just tried both the RB add-on cymbals and the Blockhead kick drum pedal...
RB cymbals are crappy and gimmicky. Feel cheap and loose (unfortunately).
The Blockhead kick pedal is built VERY well and seems to be a winner EXCEPT...it does NOT work with GH:WT.
All items are being returned.
Hopefully that Blockhead company will be putting out a GH compatible pedal soon!

Agree Spooky about the cymbals. I'm going to return them tomorrow. I did buy the silencer pads today. They are pretty thick! How hard do you have to hit those damn things? I will say I feel a lot more comfortable with my son banging on those pads however.
The Beatles....oooooh hell yeah! That's tremendous news if true.

Thanks for the update. I am glad it works with RB, but this is a consideration if I ever want to pick up GHWT. Right now I only have RB1 and have a RB2 rental that I haven't tried yet, so I might pick it up for RB games. Not sure yet that I even need GHWT as well, as I don't seem to have enough time to even get to play all my RB DLC. I do like all the "classic rock" that is on GHWT though!Spooky wrote:

LOL. I am too tired this morning to intentionally be that clever.Brando70 wrote:Naples, I can't tell if you did this intentionally, but I love the irony of that statement.Naples39 wrote:I am a little jealous of Jessie's Girl being on GH DLC but not RB.![]()
"I wish that I had Jessie's Girl...for Rock Band."
Also, it seems the Beatles deal is for a separate Beatles music game made by Harmonix. The status of Beatles music being DLC for Rock Band is unclear at this point.

Nope. Not RB DL content. Sorry, Beatles fans...

I'm as into these music games as anyone, and I'm spending a good amount of $$$ for DLC, but I'm NOT going to be running out and picking up a whole bunch of band specific disks. Part of the fun for me is being able to play a wide variety of styles and songs from many different bands. I don't want to be switching discs all the time, and then playing a bunch of the same band all at once.
This continues the bad precedent set by Guitar Hero Aerosmith, where now many 'bigger' bands are going to want their own deals, and the core games become something like 'College Rock Hero,' or 'Indie Band.'
