Heh. Yeah, that's me pushing the wrong button. I've made some colosial blunders in the past, pushing the wrong button. Once, on my way to the endzone, instead of high stepping, I lateraled to no one, which meant a fumble and no TD.

That's a lot of flash cameras going off on that goal line play.

Official numbers from NPD are not due to be released until later this week (10/16), but from I can gather, it looks like Madden's sales numbers are in the toilet this year, compared to years prior. I think the days of EA/Tiburon putting out garbage and still selling 5 million copies may finally be over. Thank God.

Let's hope the shovelware years are over. Those videos make Madden 09 look like it's worth playing, yet when I pop it into my XBox 360, I almost fall asleep immediately.

I sold my copy, and may get smart next year and hold off buying.

The online (360) play is a blast against friends. The only (major) thing they need to address is the QB's. The QBs are so overly accurate, it doesn't really matter who u have. Most incomplete pass are the result of a 'super CB' swatting the ball. I don't think I've had a pass fall at a receiver's feet. You'd be best served benching the better rated QB for the QB with the highest speed rating (so u can scramble), since their arms are pretty much equal.

The last game I played, I was 22/24 passing & my friend was 18/19. ridiculous.

When the head of EA Sports says the high sales numbers are vindication for Madden, I don't think that bode well for the end of the shovelware years.

It's kind of hard to look at sales numbers now and compare them to total sales for last year but I think the numbers will be significantly down.

Because of what is occurring with the DLC for the first time I am off the day one purchase of this title. I actually think the game is decent this year and I am not even upset the DLC doesn't appear to be coming out.

I'm just not going to support a team that plays rah rah community and then won't answer a simple question on whether this is coming out or not, ignoring the topic is not good community relations it is in fact the exact opposite and it's enough to get me out of the loyal customer demographic.

Yeah one guy doesn't make a difference but it will make me feel better to not blindly support a company who acts in this manner no matter how bad my football addiction may be.

It's a shame, because it's the first Madden I've liked on the 360, but it really needs sliders for the CPU. Unreal that they took those out, the goofiest decision in a sports game since World Series 2k1 had no manual fielding.

It's not hard to figure out. It's been two months since the game came out, and there's no financial incentive to release the DLC. I agree with Danimal in that I didn't expect it to really happen, but since they mentioned it, I got a bit excited anyway.

I am enjoying the game. Using Heelfan's sliders from OS, the computer passing has not been too bad. I kept Peyton Manning just under 60% when I played the Colts. CPU running has been hit or miss -- I've struggled against some teams, but then shut someone like Addai down completely. I think the reason I'm still playing is because I find the game somewhat difficult and I like the challenge of running this year. I'm playing a franchise with the Jaguars and it's rewarding when I get the running game going.

Without the sliders, though, it's probably going to lose more gametime to Head Coach, which I like a lot.

Thankfully, it's not just me doing the bitching. And judging by the sales numbers, thankfully it's not just me who is pissed off about Madden these days.

Madden isn't going to change in a fundamental way.

Nor are they ever going to relinquish the exclusive license.

Better to lower your expectations.

They better work on 11 vs. 11 instead.

Now, back to Madden. What was the DLC they talked about? I can't think of any DLC I would actually want to buy for Madden unless it was the actual Soldier Field instead of the generic one they've had in the game since it reopened.

I see no reason to keep the game now as I prefer NCAA for football and with all the other damn EA games I have(NHL, FIFA, Tiger Woods), Madden wont be getting any play time.

Too bad. I like the game alot and was waiting on that magical third patch so I could start another season.

Don't worry fellas it'll be in the third patch after all, errrr Madden 2010.

I've actually enjoyed HC '09 much much more than Madden 09 this year. That's probably what i'll do next year is just get HC 2010 instead. It's much more immersive IMO.

I just found this funny but I have been called out by the lead designer on Madden because he didn't like my one line post in a thread about making the games shorter. I find it funny because there are far worse comments in that thread and the fact I've been labeled a Madden fan boy at this site in the past, the whole thing just makes me smile.

What it really stems from is I made the below post in the thread announcement about no DLC and since they don't have the balls to come back in that thread and post he found a chance to take a shot at me elsewhere. Do you think it was the snake oil salesmen line that got to him?

I'm glad I finally know what is going on and what I am dealing with. I'm just making one post and I am going to tell you that you lost a loyal customer today. One person may mean jack in the big picture and since you really have no idea if I am loyal or not it could be an empty threat to you.

But I was a loyal supporter and defender of your game, some of the anti-EA people like GT who I have battled with and repeatedly stuck up for EA over the years on other forums will probably be in shock by seeing this statement.

I'm done, you're disingenuous people who are only out to market a game. Well played you and Ian fooled me and you will continue to fool many more people next year and probably for years to come. You're snake oil salesmen and good ones, I hope you make this product better in the future but you have no track record of being honest so my hopes aren't high.

No need to ban me or anything like that I will go back into lurker mode for games who do deliver like The Show, NHL and Fifa. Good day, good riddance and good luck to all the people who will endure the same BS next year
