They're very inconsistent in their enforcement. Some clips are readily distributed and others they hunt down to the farthest reaches of the internet.

It's not totally out of character for them to stringently limit distribution. I didn't mean to imply that they were doing it solely because it leaned Right (although they did implicate Republicans as well). I was just pointing out that they had been thorough in getting it removed, so I was forced to link to the transcript.

I agree. That's definitely a factor. I only heard the audio and saw the trancript, so I didn't catch that caption. I did see the Soros one, which was a riot, incidentally.

As I said, the've been aggressive about this sort of thing with far less incendiary skits.

I concur. After reading the transcript, the segment took shots at both parties, and the captions did, indeed, go too far. Fair call.

Assuming that, even with the captions, people like George Soros and the Sandlers were grist for the satirical mill was very ambitious.

I'm really beginning to think that there are seriously disgruntled Hillary backers on the SNL writing staff. They were pointed in their criticism of the media softballing Obama in the primaries, and they've been more aggressive in their satirizing of Obama than TDS, Colbert, The Onion etc. I think it's unlikely that they're harboring Conservatives in the writers room, but there may be some PUMA types.

Comedy doesn't really protect anybody. If Obama does something stupid, which he hasn't so far, I'm sure SNL, TDS, Colbert will jump all over him.

It's the nature of the game. And we'll have 4-8 years of Obama jokes on late night. I'm sure that will please the right.

And I agree, sometimes the person makes the character and Fey Poelehr are perfectly cast. That makes a huge difference.

Bob Walsh, spokesman for the Nevada secretary of state's office, told FOXNews.com the raid was prompted by ongoing complaints about "erroneous" registration information being submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.

The group was submitting the information through a voter sign-up drive known as Project Vote.

"Some of them used nonexistent names, some of them used false addresses and some of them were duplicates of previously filed applications," Walsh said, describing the complaints, which largely came from the registrar in Clark County, Nev. He said some registrations used the names of Dallas Cowboys football players.

A cynic would point out that these are the same sort of tactics being investigated by the FEC which have been used in Obama's fundraising.

That was a pretty good skit. It illustrates the points we were talking about in the American Carol thread yesterday -- that good satire has to go below surface jokes to be good. They really dug into this.

Please, if just once you guys would step outside the partisan victim mindset for one minute...

Obama has not done much to be lampooned by the media. We are talkling major gaffes like give a Palin type interview. Not policy decisions or platform.

His campaign reminds me of Bush's campaign. They were disciplined, on message every day and on offense every day. They aren't playing defense much expect for when Palin was selected.

Like I said, comedy protects no one. If it's going to get laughs, people will go after Obama. So far he's not committed those types of glaring errors.

And good satire has be based on truth and the hypocrisy. The two skits Biden v Palin and the Bailout, were just that.
