I do. :)
I'm not necessarily saying that the Fifa demo looks bad. It's just that since the PS 2 days, it's been taken for granted that Fifa looks better and this "common wisdom" has been taken a step further with the next-gen consoles. I haven't seen Fifa 08 (TBO, I'm more of a PES fan) but IMO PES 6 (PES/WE 2007 in the States) looked more convincing than Fifa 07 or the Fifa 09 demo. Admittedly, the PES 2008 pitch textures were very disappointing and the replay visuals were rendered virtually unwatchable by slowdown. In any case, I guess it's the gameplay and online (tho' not so much for me) issues that really matter. CHEERs

FIFA looks good but the players up close look monstrous, too big IMO. Things that are striking about PES 2009 is the hi-res look of the game including pitch colors and textures. The players look great as well. I think player faces look better in PES 2009.

No question PES is a Xbox 360 purchase for me as I don't know if my PC can handle this game anymore. :(

Since TRU is having their B2G1 free sale next week i'll be getting NBA Live 09, NBA 2K9 and FIFA 09.

PES is usually pretty good on low-spec PCs. What have you got?

I've got a Intel E6750 with a nvidia 7900GTO 512MB of video ram. My only worry is if can handle the new graphics engine. PES 2008 on my PC played great but it looks like Konami has bumped up the graphics quite a bit.

If the demo runs fine then the full game should run as well, if not better.

My specs are similar to yours. I have an E6420 @ 2.13 GHz, and a 320 MB 8800 GTS. I'm confident enough that the full game will run fine that I'm skipping the PC demo.

I have to get the PC version since I don't have a 360 or PS3 yet, but I'd get the PC version anyway because I like to make videos of my better goals and it's so much easier to do that on the PC version.

This is one of the time I wish I had my PS3 still.

Modding PES for the 360 is a chore. The USB transfers for the PS3 is really too simple. And with the community, we'll have really good files within weeks if not sooner.

With FIFA's manager mode receiving no attention (my main way to play), I sicked that EA Sports couldn't have just addressed some of the issues from last year.

The one thing from the demo that I hate is the sluggish controls. They took a wrong direction from the old-gen versions and haven't recovered in the next-get, with controls atleast. I hope they do something in the full version but I'm not hopeful.

Be interesting to know if the PS3 demo is in any way different to the 360 one (the one I've seen). The replays are way better than in PES 2008 but still jumpier IMO than PES 6 (360). Probably one of the few visual treats PES 2008 had to offer were the brilliant goal net physics and happily they haven't been tampered with in the new demo. Would echo Naples views wrt the 2 big issues having been dealt with. The pace of PES 2008 is a bit weird (as is the crossing and ball physics in general) in that some matches seem to play faster than others, for no reason that I've been able to pin down (apart from weather conditions). Spanish league mode, with the Nike Arrows ball offers the most satisfying or slowest gameplay pace IMO but it might just be my imagination. They could just bring back the gamespeed meter that featured in the PS 1 games but I'm sure they won't. In any case, the gamespeed of the demo is fine by me. Cheers.

After playing both demos, I wont waste my time with FIFA again....the PES demo is terrific.

Although, I still am not sure that it is worth me upgrading over the sublime WE: 2007 for the PS2...I still play it.

I don't think there's a better version.

WE: 2007 for the PS2 was and still is the best soccer game out there.

Be great if the PS 2 version included a widescreen option this time round. Unlikely, I guess. Cheers

WENB and PESFan have retail copies of the game already.

PESFan has a 50+ page Q & A thread, but there's a lot more questions than answers so far. They did confirm that the transfers are not up to date till September 1st, only till early August.

I'm sure some here would be interested to know these details;
Update

- Squads are the same as the review versions, so Berbatov at Tottenham, Culler at Rangers etc Basically the sqauds are out of date
- Maximum of 4 players online, 2vs2 is included, no groups
- Full edit mode available, 360 edit mode doesn't allow you option of importing image off the hard drive
- 200 spaces for all images on PC
- Chant import on PS3, not on PC
- 'thudding' noise reduced when kicking the ball
- All Champions League matches take place at night
- 8 camera angles to choose from
4p online isn't going to get anyone excited. I guess that only leaves the question as to connection quality for 1-on-1 matches.

The outdated rosters really suck for online play, but at least now I know I can play online with Spurs and still have a chance at scoring a goal. :)

But Seabass said there were going to be updates throughout the year this time. While I don't expect monthly updates, he did say a midyear update was in the works.

PES remains dead to me.

Sad, but true. Why run through master league seasons when there is the dynamism and fun of OTP? I know that others prefer to do so, but for me it's not even close.

Becuase online play doesn't appeal to some.

No offense to the DSP OTP guys but I got fed up with it. For a while, I had fun but FIFA 08 was a two dimension game, wingplay and slide tackles. And players that were "selfish" not so much in dribbling but had to play one way.

That got old. Maybe it's why I would rather play FM manager than OTP. Plus I like the since of having the games mean something.
