I don't know what was going on last night but I couldn't get into the private matches for anything. I rebooted, signed out of my profile, signed back in, power cycled my router. Nothing worked and I was on the outside looking in. At least I had my old buddy Duke Nukem to keep me company. Sounds like I missed a good night of hockey though.

guys....that was so much fun last night. I had to leave after 2 games, but had a blast while I was there.
Sorry Zep...I tried my damndest to put that puck in the net but was denied over and over and over. Don't get so caught up on goals...they will come. Just enjoy the game and have fun! Those 2 games we were in where extremely even and competitive. I think I am starting to get the hang of things online and am playing a little better each time.
This is easily the best video hockey game ever. And the fact that we can play 6 on 6 with all humans is unbelievably fun. This game trumps Rivals because it is fun AND it feels like real hockey out there. I thing I might have bent down to tighten my skate laces in between periods
Please don't let this game die!!!!!

Did you try turning the 360 off and on?...Thats what I did when I had the same problem a few nights back ..

Finally! Now, if we can only play ourselves, we might get a chance to win. Although, it won't do anything for our record. Good games last night, I was on the losing end only once. I wish I had better understading of the game, though, I find myself making dumb decisions all the time.

Thats cause you were with me ...I know of one great pass you made.
Also... I would appreciate it if Zeppo would stop trying to poke my eye out.

Ditto. I would accept Zeppo's invites and then the session was over as soon as I clicked OK. Fortunately I managed to play the league games but I was the only one lagging.

Yeah, we had good understanding upfront yesterday. I remember you setting me up a few times, and I assisted on a couple of your goals.

I did shut of system and even unpluged cable and started again and the same thing happened, funny thing is I can do a shootout mode online, just the OTP was giving me the error, maybe after I bang my head on the table long enough it will finally work!
Never laughed so much as to the time where there was a loose puck in front of the one goalie. Me and another forward were going around just doing the cross check animation, instead of picking up the puck..
PS - now made myself as a sniper that can fight...

I think last night it was just our turn to be screwed and left out.

Last night I was signed in to xbox live and started the game up and it came up with a message that to continue I had to sign in to xbox live, but when I hit the dashboard button my profile was faded out and I couldn't sign in, exited out of the game and went to the dashboard where I was signed in and restarted the game and the same thing happened, so I rebooted the 360 and then after that everything was fine all night.
Naples was definitely kicking ass in the goal scoring department last night, great fun last night guys!

That was a pretty infectious laugh. You had us all going for a bit there:) Classic.

You sir, should change your jersey name to "AutoPenalty".
ScoopBrady wrote: Jack, it's a must to shift focus to the puck while online. It defaults to keep focus on your player. The first time I got online I was totally confused with where the puck was and who had possession of it. When I changed focus to the puck it was easy to control myself even if I was offscreen and adjust to the puck. I play with the classic cam focused on the puck. It's just like the single player game. Give it a try.
Since this is a "toggle", is there any way to tell what position it's in to start a game or do you just hit the back button once at the beginning of the game and then never touch it again?

I wait to see where the focus is and press it once if I need to. I never really take the focus off of the puck as I think it's easy to adjust with my character offscreen rather than the puck being offscreen.

The default is to stay on the puck, I believe, unless you are playing goalie. In either case, you can tap the button during the faceoff and it should be pretty apparent what the focus is. As you said, for the most part, you will set it once and forget it. In rare cases, you may want to toggle quickly back and forth, particularly if you are the goalie as it lets you see the action down-ice.
Jack, I only use the 'follow the guy' mode when I'm playing Defenseman or goalie. With the D-man I pretty much use it when we are in the Offensive zone to try to stay right on that blue line and keep an eye on the cherry pickers, but I don't toggle it away from the puck all that much. As goalie, I toggle it a lot to follow the action up the ice. As a forward, I keep it locked on the puck at all times.

I do just the opposite on defense. I keep in locked on me at all times except when the puck is deep in the offensive zone. I can park on the blue line and then switch to watch where the puck is.

Right, i usually snap it back to the puck once I figure out where I am in relation to that blue line.
I do wish it were tweaked a bit so that when you follow your player, it would keep your guy at the bottom of the frame when the puck is in the neutral or offensive zone rather than in the center of the frame. That would help and allow me to keep from having to toggle. That damn Guide button is so HUGE right next to the teeny tiny Back button!

This is actually my biggest problem with NHL. I got used to pressing the "BACK" button in FIFA when playing upfront, and it is seemless now. I use my left hand to press that button, which means I have to release the left stick. Not a big problem in FIFA since you do this when you are not involved in the play. In NHL it's a whole other story. Releasing the left stick will result in losing precious momentum, which is very frustrating, since that half second could mean a loss of posession. I think in hockey they need to assign that button to "start" or one of the bumpers/triggers.
Are you guys all playing in Classic cam? I've been playing with the BAP cam in high, and tried the focus trick tonight, but it didn't seem to do anything.
