Live reminds me of FIFA 08. The animations are a little too "heavy" and probably needs a year to get those down.
The Live 365 feature looks nice.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing but thought I must have smoked some pot without knowing. The Live 365 feature should be used by all sports games pronto. That is pretty sweet. Anyways, this is way better than last year's version which was absolutely terrible.dbdynsty25 wrote:HOLY CRAP. NBA Live is actually pretty f'n sweet. I haven't played Live since 03 because it just went in the sh*tter, but this year...wow. What an improvement.

It still doesn't mean it will be better than 2k9, which has consistently been upping the ante in terms of on the floor gameplay. All of the "Live365" features in the world will not save it if 2k9 kills it on the floor. However, they have definitely improved it, so it probably won't be a 2nd day ebay sale like it usually is. Hoops games run a close second to baseball games in my book and I always buy all of the available games, then sell the duds. Live has always been that dud...and it usually only takes a few games. This year it appears to be different.ScoopBrady wrote:Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing but thought I must have smoked some pot without knowing. The one thing that bothers me about the Live 365 thing is that of course they don't tell you that it probably won't update your players in ongoing seasons and whatnot. They don't really say either way, but I'm doubting it. So what good is a constantly updated player database/rosters/attributes if you can only use them in exhibitions and online matches? Just curious if anyone has read that it updates the players and rosters in seasons/franchises. I seriously doubt it...which means it's a rather pointless feature for me, who spends 95% of my time in offline franchises.

Yeah...the only problem is that I've been playing that game for years...it's called ATV Offroad Fury. I was bored after I got over how badass it looks. They even stole the same pre-load controls! It must be some of the same guys from Rainbow Studios...but who knows.Spooky wrote:'Pure' is interesting. Pretty slick looking graphically.

It's an ATV off-road racing game. You race, but you also do tricks by launching yourself into the air going over some hill on a dirt road/trail/mountain.JackB1 wrote:What type of game is it? Details....Details.....Spooky wrote:'Pure' is interesting. Pretty slick looking graphically.

"Designed by the speed fanatics who have brought gamers such hits as ATV Off-Road Fury and MotoGP, Pure is the new racing phenomenon that gives gamers the raw thrills of off-road, extreme quad racing."

Did any of you guys download the Fallout 3 gameplay demo movies? They are unbelievable. They show the new combat system, which lets you either play it as a standard FPS, or pause and target specific body parts (the success of which seems dependent on your character's skills, body armor, weapon, etc.).
Well worth watching all 5 movies -- they show the progression through one side quest, with one hell of a completion at the end.

I love this game! Great demo. I can't stop playing it. Reminds me of that mountain biking game from a few years ago (name??). Great arcade racing.sportdan30 wrote:Anyone have an idea how many tracks are in Pure? This game has really peaked my interest. I really liked the demo track and the arcade style racing.
I hope they have 2 wheel dirt bikes in the full game.
Edit:
Release date is 9/25

Yeah, I've had my eye on this one since it was announced. Those movies just make the wait much more difficult. Really? Fallout 3 is looking more and more less like a purchase to me with each new movie I see. I was really amped for this one and for some reason, now not so much.
Anyway, the real reason for why I dug up this thread.
I dl'd the Metallica "Death Magnetic" full CD DLC for GH3 (and forward compatible with On Tour) and they've done a really good job. At least so far from what I can tell. I've played "That was just your life" and "The Judas Kiss" and both are done really, really well.
A little pricey coming in at 17.99, but added value that I'm sure I'll get. This is the first CD from them that I've truly enjoyed in 22 years. Oh how I've missed thee. Great flippin' album.

I don't know where else to ask this question, so this seems like a nice place. Apologies for the rudimentary nature of it, but whatever.
Anyway, I am wondering if anyone knows much about transferring data from one Xbox HDD to another. I am probably going to get a new machine now that the prices have gone down, and before or soon after my disc drive completely refuses to read games as anything but DVDs (and of course giving me that nice little note telling me that 'you must put this disc into an Xbox 360'). My 20 gig HDD is essentially stuffed to the gills, most likely with arcade games I never play and lots and lots of old game saves. In any case, it makes it a real pain to try out demos or sometimes even to download game videos.
So, where I once thought I would just get a new arcade system and keep the same HDD, I am now thinking I want to get a Pro system with a bigger HDD.
But how to transfer the data? It is my understanding that buying a separate, larger HDD would get me a transfer cable, or possibly getting an Elite would get one for me, too, but I don't want to spend the extra $$ for either of those options. Rather than getting an arcade and a separate HDD, I think getting a Pro machine with the 60 gig HDD will be the best option.
So what to do about transferring the data? Is there a way to obtain a transfer cable separately? Does one come bundled in with the Pro or solely with the Elite? Any insight would be appreciated.

Here's MS's how-to, which includes a link at the bottom with a form for a free transfer cable. The form is specifically for upgrading to an Elite or 'special' systems.
No idea if they'll honor a form for a 60gb pro system.

Listening to Major Nelson's podcast got me hyped up for the Burnout update that's adding motocycles, night driving, and weather. Bought the game on the cheap from Gamefly. Really liked it during the initial rental, just not for $60. 14 bucks (after coupon) with all that added content waiting seems like a deal though.
Can you play Burnout Paradise with the MS racing wheel?

If you pick up the 120 gig drive separately, it comes with the transfer cable and after you use it you can get around 40 bucks for it on ebay plus you can sell your old drive also. I also thought I read before that ebgames would loan out transfer cables but that might have been if you were trading in your system to them for an upgrade.

Just went through the same thing the only way to get the cable is by snail mail form. I bought a memory card and transfered all my saves and then I re-downloaded all my DLC I wanted, then returned the memory card.
