Wow, did they play better than they did against OU? What a joke. At least USC might spare the nation from having to watch Ohio St get blown out in another title game.... They should just quit before they get hurt. It's only the 3rd Q & I'm already feeling bad for them. (well, not "the vest")K_Mosley wrote:OMG, they might get slaughtered! Then again, they may play better and compete!
I'm not a gambler, nor am I playing any lines. I'm just saying they will play better than they did against OU. If that's not good enough, then so be it. This game will dictate whether or not the Buckeyes are able to play with the best of the best, assuming SC is in that class. SC were supposed to be last year, yet stumbled. SC has a new QB, an inexperienced line, and some injury issues of their own. I hardly think they could beat ANY NFL team, but I digress.
Win or lose, life will go on. I'm way beyond getting into a virtual "my team is better than your team" spitting contest on a message board. Root for the Trojans; have a good time.

Oh, this is not baseball, hockey, or soccer, just to avoid confusion. This is FOOTBALL!
Dear lord, we're in trouble...![]()
Yeah, I know we won, but just let me try to come in here with a WAR EAGLE! and see how far that goes...
I will give it this: Both defenses were simply incredible tonight...but I'd be more enthusiastic if this were LSU instead of Mississippi State...

Mizzou could hardly stop the Juice Williams Experience. You think they'd have a shot against a real offense like USC?sportdan30 wrote:USC vs. MU Tigers for all the marbles......I think Mizzou would give them a great game.

Love Mizzou's offense. I think that would give USC's defense problems, but I don't think their defense would do well in that game. Chase Daniel has never faced a defense like USC has either.sportdan30 wrote:USC vs. MU Tigers for all the marbles......I think Mizzou would give them a great game.
I'd like to see that game, and if USC takes care of business, and Mizzou beats OU, we may get to see it. I think Mizzou would give them a heck of a game.

Yep... The Bucks got slaughtered! This is becoming routine!
I have to disagree, BK, I think that win at TX counts as OSU's last "big" win against a non-conference opponent, but other than that, they just can't compete with the big boys.
They made too many mistakes - penalties, turnovers, missed assignments - to beat SC. They would've had to play a perfect game, and it was far from that. I do think they played better than they did against OU, but it wasn't near enough. Boeckman just isn't a big-game QB, and the DL couldn't pressure Sanchez or penetrate against the running game. USC controlled the line of scrimmage, and dominated. Congrats to them; Pete Carroll sure gets the talent year in and year out.
I thought Pryor looked solid. Maybe he'll be the key to OSU getting over this "hump." OSU can still win the Big 10, and maybe get a shot at another tough non-conference opponent in the Bowl season. Hopefully, Pryor will be running the show by then.
Oh well. I'm still going to watch OSU and root for them.

Not sure how. That was a game being started by a true freshman at QB for a team that later lost to Kansas St and Texas A&M. That's like USC beating Nebraska last year as a big win.K_Mosley wrote:Yep... The Bucks got slaughtered! This is becoming routine!![]()

The offensive gameplan blew, especially first time they get inside the 5, they put the QBs in shotgun and then try to run a QB draw?
And they kept moving the pocket, cutting off half the field, which led to the inevitable int.
But looks like they have no playmakers downfield. USC brought one of their safeties to the line on most passing situations, because they didn't fear OSU beating them down field.
OU might be able to put up some kind of fight, although I don't know if they can handle the blitz schemes now than they could a few years back.

Mizzou v USC would be interesting. The big question is if Mizzou's O-Line could hold back USC long enough for Daniel to air it out... Regardless, it would be cool to see.bkrich83 wrote:Love Mizzou's offense. I think that would give USC's defense problems, but I don't think their defense would do well in that game. I am heading out Friday to Vegas, then Saturday morning I am driving from Vegas to Tempe to support my Dawgs.
Believe it or not, as many Georgia games I have been to, I have never been to one away from Sanford Stadium. I expect Georgia to send around 20K fans to Tempe. I ended up buying 4 ASU season tickets just for this game. I gave the rest of the tickets to the Warriors In Transition at FT Huachuca.
After the game, I am driving BACK to Vegas for another three nights... It will be a long trip but should be fun.

McCoy was no slouch in 2006. As a matter of fact, he was better in 2006 than 2007. He completed over 68% of his passes, with 29 TD's and 7 INT's. TX might have stumbled, but they were very talented (Charles, Selvin, Sweed, etc.), and playing at their place is never easy. Granted, I might be reaching a bit. Throw me a bone!bkrich83 wrote:Not sure how. That was a game being started by a true freshman at QB for a team that later lost to Kansas St and Texas A&M. Did you see Georgia this week? Granted, USC(version 2) is the best D Georgia will face all year, but damn, Stafford was missing reads, and we would not adjust to a TE that was former WR killing us down the middle.
Georgia is also having trouble with getting their DEs to come off the edge. This has been a strong point for Georgia in years past but this year its a HUGE weakness this year.
One bright spot continues to be Moreno and true freshman AJ Green who is the real deal..
I am still looking forward to the game. I plan to take a few gallons of water with us in our journey across the desert... .My wife is going as is her father... .My mom is making the trip to Vegas but she is not going to the game. My step brother is meeting us at the game as he lives an hour north of Phoenix - he is a Gator fan and my FIL is a Cock fan.
