What was so stupid? That he couldn't see that someone was sitting in a wheelchair and not just "sitting". That he admitted Hillary may have been more qualified than himself? I didn't have a problem with either of these things. Again.....more of the media making a mountain out of a molehill.RobVarak wrote:Joe Biden, "human verbal wrecking ball."

It raises an interesting point. If someone is repeatedly saying stupid things is there a law of diminishing returns that makes any individual stupid thing less problematic?
I think it may, which really would keep my own political ambitions afloat, but at the same time it raises the likelihood of a nuclear gaffe which could be fatal.

Thanks Rob. That's a funny but sad read. Funny that your the only one in this thread that points these Biden mistakes out. Sad because your the only one that points Biden's mistakes out. WTF is wrong with you man? Palin is the flavor of the next two months. Get on board will ya??RobVarak wrote:Joe Biden, "human verbal wrecking ball."

In fact I agree with you...and... I will help you all with a part of this problem.
Send me all government paper (currency) that has the word God on it and I will see that it is properly disposed of.
As far as the currency goes, that's quite harmless and not quite the same as sending people to war because it's "God's will". Don't you think?

You don't think it pissed Obama off to hear this?JackB1 wrote:

That was funny...but really, after hearing W absolutely butcher the English language for the past 8 years, the American public probably has come to expect such things from their politicians. That clown's a proven fu$&ing moron and he still got 2 terms.

No it's not just a Bush/Palin thing, but I can't do anything at present about JFK or FDR. I wouldn't have liked it then and I don't like it now. I think newer generations are more resistant to lumping everyone under the same "God beliefs" grouping and to combining politics & religion. Hopefully one day, we can make a clean break here.JackDog wrote:Is this just a Bush/Palin thing with you? Was it OK for JFK and FDR? You are missing the point. God and religion are PERSONAL BELIEFS.
Politics and Government are for ALL AMERICANS. When you combine something for all with something for some, it doesn't quite work.
Our country is a melting pot comprised of people who believe in all kinds of religions and also of people that don't believe in religion at all. How would you like it if the president of your company starting saying "We are completing this new project for God"!
Using God/Religion for personal political gain is wrong. Assuming everyone you are speaking to believes in YOUR God is wrong. Saying going to war is "a task from God" is really wrong. The concept of war and of God/religion couldn't be farther apart, IMO.
I didn't make a 'personal threat'...I made a rock solid promise. Not to kick your ass or anything like that, although it seems like that's what you took from it (par for the course, really), but when you come off like Jack has stated, I'm calling you on it. I've let it slide quite often, but I'm no longer doing that. You have been a raving hypocrite in this thread toward me and others, accusing me and others of things that you yourself are doing WITHIN THE VERY CONTEXT OF THE POST IN WHICH YOU ARE MAKING THE ACCUSATIONS. And I'm not going to let that slide anymore.JRod wrote:I didn't go after you. By Jack I meant JackB's and some of his outlandish posts a few pages back. I may have left out the "B". Or I incorrectly typed your name but I meant JackB.JackDog wrote:John, you go after everyone and everything in a pretty condescending way. I'll be honest. You come offf as an asshole in 90 percent of your posts. You use words like "Ignorant" and "Idioctic" when you respond to people. How do you expect them to respond to that? You went directly after Teal and Myself in this thread. You called our posts "Blogs".That's the pot calling the kettle black. Look,Teal did what you asked and your still trying to provoke him. Why? Practice what your trying to preach. Otherwise,if your going to dish it out be ready to take whatever comes back. It is what it is.JRod wrote:
I don't know your agenda, nor do I think you have one. If someone thinks I'm wrong than poke holes in my logic, or with the use of facts. Rob and Jared in this forum, if they disagree with me, will post enough links and evidence to bury someone.
You last statement is quite telling. On one hand you say you didn't get angry about it, then make statement that you won't let things go. I do think crosses a line here at DSP. It's not a threat but it's over the line in this little virtual community.
I said very clearly, some of us cross the line atleast in this thread because we type, press send, in the heat of the moment. I think quite a few of us can be guilty of that. I'm guilty of it.
What crosses the line is making a personal threat like not letting something go. It's not about them responding to when I use a poor choice of words like idoitic.
Now as to whether I am or have been 'angry', I asked that precisely because I wanted to see how much you think you've gleaned from typed words on a page. If you think for a minute that you can ascertain all the stuff you've attempted to, like motives, thought processes, nuanced intents, and all that, you are incredibly mistaken. You cannot do any of that by reading script on a computer screen, and you need to stop trying to. I can put my foot down without getting 'pissed off' or 'flying off the handle', as you eloquently put it. I have, and I will continue to. In these political threads, you have come across as quite condescending and dismissive of any opinion counter to yours, as if yours is the only one that matters, and as if all counter opinions (such as those held by people who think conservatively) are idiotic, simpleton, beneath your 'intellect'. It's the mistake many liberal minded people make.
So if you want to keep making disparaging remarks and hiding behind a thin veil of offense and innocence regarding your own offenses. And until you can see your own, you don't really have any place to comment on what you think mine are. When you do, just understand: you'll hear about it.

As long as Biden's gaffes are of this sort and not something that can be interpreted as lack of knowledge or understading on the important issue -- he will be okay. I think it's Palin who will have a major gaffe first.
Rob, you made far too many anti-Serbian remarks to have any type of political career at this point.

If I were the McCain camp, I'd jump all over this, early and often. They might be saving this one for October, though, which would also make sense. It could be couched as 'Even Joe Biden questions Obama's decision making ability'.
Yeah, they're going to have to put a muzzle on Biden at some point. I knew when they picked him that he could be an albatross around Obama's neck with his 'gaffes'.

In the heat of the moment, I did say make some remarks about the type of your posts.
I don't claim innocence because this is an opinion forum with one rule not to make it personal. It always gets personal in an election thread but most can back off. Like I said, many are guilty.
What bothers me the most is the type of your posts which your style has been to be mockatory and redicule others. That's different from typing something one shouldn't pressing send and then having to back off of that later. I did that with JackDog's post a few pages back.
You crossed the line of your threat. There's no such thing as a physical threat, and I clearly stated as much.
I'm done here. I under no circumstances will respond to you any longer in this thread. If you want to talk games then I would hope you can go back to square one in the other gaming threads.
