Impossible. ESPN.com already has ordained Favre's Jets as the AFC East champions after Week 1 now that Brady is out. All because of a six-point win over the powerhouse Dolphins:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/ ... ortCat=nfl

Meanwhile, the Bills ripped the tits off Seattle and looked very good on both sides of the ball and special teams.

But if Gene W. and ESPN.com say the Jets are going to win the division, well, then, f*ck, it must be so. They're the Worldwide Leader, remember.

I'm so f*cking sick and tired of ESPN judging on marquee power alone. The Dolphins have Tuna running the show; they must be good. The Jets have Favre at QB; they must be AFC contenders. The Bills have Trent Edwards and Marshawn Lynch in the backfield and Dick Jauron on the sidelines; they must be pretenders.

Rant over.

Take care,
PK
Jaws gave love to the Bills today on PTI.

I still wouldn't write off the Pats. They're loaded with talent...

If it's any consolation, Jaws and his bizarre androgynous eyewear were on PTI today agreeing with you 100%. :)
Thanks. I've had the same pair of specs since 1994, so I need to get a new pair. Maybe I'll look at the Jaws' Specials.

Then again, maybe not. :)

So true. Remember what elevated Tom Brady to the limelight -- an injury to Drew Bledsoe that supposedly was going to ruin the Pats' season.

Plays like that blocked FG seem to happen a lot when you play it TOO conservatively.

What makes these coaches think FGs are automatic?

Aaron Rodgers looks ready to play. I dont know wether he will succeed or not but if he fails it wont be because he is scared(Bulger).

Peterson is good.

Minnesota run D is so good they are just attacking the secondary... Winfield especially has been burned 3 times. He's so over-rated... I see an 8-8 season for Minnesota. They are not a playoff team, and certainly not a division champ

Peterson may be good, but MIKE, MIKE and MIKE have to be the all-time worst trio of announcers to ever do a game. What makes them think radio guys (and Ditka) can actually do a telecast? Holy crap, they are laughably bad.

Looking for receivers...Urgently. SEA lose N. Burleson for the year. And injured are also D. Branch, B. Engram and B. Obomanu. This is going to be a long year.

As soon as you saw Merriman was trying to play on torn-up knee, you knew this was inevitable, sooner than later. Guess there aren't designer 'roids that will magically fix Merriman's knee.

Glad to see a game against the Panthers knocked some sense into him. We'll obviously miss him terribly but the Chargers are loaded elsewhere so all is not lost. Heck, at least we aren't the Patriots...

Was listening to From the Bleachers podcast and they were saying Bellichek was whining about the hit that took out Brady, like it was a dirty hit.

Since 2001, the Harrison and Seymour are number 2 and 3 for penalties for personal fouls.

Hey let me know if they have some left as my Dolphins are making Warner and the Arizona Cardinals look like the second coming of the 2001 St. Louis Rams.

Yeah, my family has bailed on them as well. The question is, who gets fired 1st: Scott Linehan or Marvin Lewis?

The play calls at the end were scary...especially the FB dive on 4th and 1.

Bears D took the last qtr plus off though....They get a 14 point lead in the 2nd half they should win.

That TE Olsen...needs to learn how to hold onto the ball.
