I bought the full version and I love it. The premise is cool as hell and the execution is fantastic. Everything takes place from a Google-maps type of view and you go around and save people. Very old school idea with a very new school implementation. Try the demo.Slumberland wrote:How is The Last Guy? Very intrigued by that one.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.

Bought the full version as well. Great game. Love the use of the satellite images. It's even cooler when one of the maps is less than a mile from your house (Park La Brea in Los Angeles). I'm stuck on one of the later levels. Anyone have suggestions for the Washington DC level where you have to get inside the "nests" to save the people?ScoopBrady wrote:I bought the full version and I love it. "Be tolerant of those who describe a sporting moment as their best ever. We do not lack imagination, nor have we had sad and barren lives; it is just that real life is paler, duller, and contains less potential for unexpected delirium." -Nick Hornby
No sh*t, that DC map is killing me!LAking wrote:Bought the full version as well. Great game. Love the use of the satellite images. Thinking seriously of buying Jeopardy as it hits the PSN tonight. It could be quite fun to play with the wife and my parents.
Wheel of Fortune has also been announced but I don't know the date of when it'll be out.

Jeopardy sounds interesting. Hopefully it will be popular online.
A lot of people like these parlor games but on the PS2, they were released without online support.
I see a Monopoly game coming too but we'll see if that has multiplayer.
They could do Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble as well, maybe even make use of the Eye Toy.

Eurogamer's Wipeout review (9/10). Visuals are said to be absolutely stunning. Seems like a great purchase.

FYI, per PS3fanboy regarding Wipeout crashing:
We're not talking the type of crashing you'd normally associate with WipEout, this is far more frustrating. Since the European PSN Store was updated earlier today we've been hearing reports of people experiencing crashes and game freezing whilst playing WipEout HD. Members of the official European PlayStation forums think they might have the answer. It seems to only be happening to the more sociable PSN users; those with over fifty friends in their friends lists.
There's no word on a fix, other than signing out of the PlayStation Network while you're playing. Obviously, this will prevent you from playing online. PlayStation Forum moderators are looking into the issue as a matter of urgency and hopefully we'll see a solution soon. We've experienced the freezing ourselves (and yes, our friends list is massive, thanks for asking), but an official cause hasn't been confirmed by anything other than anecdotal evidence at this stage.

I haven't had any issues regarding Wipeout but then again based on the group having problems. I don't play online much.
One thing I did was turn off "Pilot Assist". That was causing me to crash more into the walls. After I turned if off I barely touch the walls. Awesome game and a beautiful one at that. I took a picture and set it as my Wallpaper.

Yeah we all knew that last year.dbdynsty25 wrote:Goodness the NBA 08 demo is horrendous. Thankfully, I have now confirmed my suspicion that this game was gonna suck, just like the rest of them. I'm not sure how Sony can keep developing these things. They have yet to put out a decent hoops game.

NBA '09 is slightly better but not by much.

Wipeout HD is a joy to play. Probably the smoothest game I've ever seen and great for those times when you only want a 10-15 minute session.
Also downloaded the Mega Man 9 demo due to all the hype - I had never experienced it in my younger days. Damn is it hard! I'll probably pass on MM9 and download MM2 on the Wii Virtual Console.
