Naw man, I've got the 360 version. Was gonna go PS3, but my bro claims he's picking it up so we were gonna play some rounds. We'll see if he comes through. If not, I'll make the switch so we can hit the track.JackDog wrote:That being said do you have the PS3 version? If so let's tee it up tomorrow night. I am digging on this game a lot.

Hype the game? Please show us all ANY post I have made about TW09 that is "hyping" the game. If anything, I have been very low key this version because I did not know what to expect...except for the annual name-calling and brow-beating from you. There is not a game in existence that you don't nit-pick the s*** out of. I do not believe there will ever be ANY game made that you won't pick apart because that is what you are best at. TW09 is a step in the right direction according to MANY here who have rightly criticized past Tiger games. You can continue your pathetic attempts to discredit and/or attack me personally, I wish I cared. Sadly, you are stuck on an island all by yourself and it seems that no one is willing to throw you a rope. Too bad your attitude precludes many from offering you one.....JRod wrote:You've been and continue to be an Tiger fanboy. Add me to the list of guys really digging this game also.
I think one of the biggest differences in this year's version is it seems like this year you don't have to spend as much time building up your character's attributes before trying the season mode. It's like they're instantly up to 6 or 7 out of ten after a few short tests with the coach, which is nice. I remember that was a big complaint in this forum last year, guys just didn't want to spend the time doing all those Tiger challenges just to be able to be competitive in the PGA Tour mode.

Hmmm. I wonder if that would work on the Wii version as well. I'm going to try that tonight and see if that makes putting more realistic . Can you configure what's in your bag and just take out the other putters or do you have to switch clubs each time?JackB1 wrote:Has anyone tried doing ALL putting with the "3rd putter" (the longest one)?
It certainly makes putting harder and makes the animations more natural.
After a while, you can putt by just watching the putter go back and go more on "feel" instead of Math 101.

Can anyone please explain to me why the f*ck EA continues to make you have to use a shot clock during online play EVEN if it is an unranked private session????
They give no option to turn it off. Do they not realize that some of us actually like to take our time, relax with firends online and play at our own pace? For gods sake they don't even give me enough time to get a beer and take a piss. Inexcusable!!!!

I disagree with this statement JRod. I think EA did a great job of retooling the Tiger Challenge mode to make it feel fresh and new and I love the addition of the user challenges. They retooled how skill points are assessed as well. In stark contrast check out the Wii version of Tiger Challenge mode and you will see the same mode that's been there since last gen. I can't comment on the PGA Tour mode as I haven't tried it yet and I didn't try it last year but I know there hasn't always been the option to play the PGA Tour so if it's stale to you already maybe you need to play a little less?JRod wrote:I said game modes. gotta agree with Scoop here. The new modes/Tiger Challenges are my main fun with the game and feel fresh to me. I also like the new stat increase method a lot better.ScoopBrady wrote:I disagree with this statement JRod. You can set the clock to 60 seconds or more I think. That should be plenty of time. I had it on 50 seconds while playing last night and don't think it was ever an issue.Spooky wrote:Can anyone please explain to me why the f*ck EA continues to make you have to use a shot clock during online play EVEN if it is an unranked private session????

60 seconds is max and it is an issue sometimes. There are a few friends that I play with and we like to take our time, shoot the sh*t, sometimes have to get up to grab a beer, take a piss, put a kid back to bed, whatever it is, but golf is a perfect game to relax and take your time with.JackB1 wrote:You can set the clock to 60 seconds or more I think. It should not be 'hurry up and hit' UNLESS you are playing a ranked game or a non-private match. Then yes, I would hate to have to wait 3 minutes for a stranger to hit.
It's REALLY very simple, why not just add the option of 'off' to the timer when it is a private match!?!?!
EA and their DUMB F*CKING online idiocy.

Can someone explain how these "Gamernet Challenges" work? Do you have to do something to do the challenge or are you automatically involved in it?
Do you just try and get inside the circle to beat it? There is no explanation of this in the tutorials.
Also, is there a way to always select the longest putter or do you have to always move the aiming target way behind the hole?

While I agree with the idea that private matches should be able to toggle the timer to OFF, I think and let me repeat, I "think" the reasoning for this is to keep users from sitting in the game and taking long periods to play the game, therefore increasing the server load. With the online issues that Tiger has had in the past couple of versions, I can see why they do this to an extent. However, I do think 60 seconds is not long enough for the reasons you state and 2 minutes or so seems like a good compromise. I'll see what I can do to get your comments to the Dev Team and see if something can be done about this. Good post.Spooky wrote: 60 seconds is max and it is an issue sometimes. If you get an in-game Gamernet prompt, you are free to challenge the Gamernet clip the game is referencing. If you beat theexisting result, you get Gamernet points. Getting inside the circle is for approach shots and putts only. In driving, you only have to beat the stated yardage, but your ball must be in the fairway to beat the challenge.JackB1 wrote:Can someone explain how these "Gamernet Challenges" work? The game defaults to the best possible putter range for each putt distance that comes up. Sorry.
