Ya, it was on all the time up here. One of the rare commercials that made me laugh every time.....
"Aha, i'm quick like a chat!" (chat is french for cat.... and it's pronounced shaw for anybody who doesn't know. )
My other fave is the "nice try Nogoalov" line.....
UGGGGGGGGH.. that's all I have to say about this offseason for my team.
I liked the re-signing of Witt, and picking up Streit on the blueline..
But - Mr Useless GM (and Mr Stupid Owner) are really trying to kill the team.. For one, they traded DOWN in the draft to pick up a center, and then they force out Ted Nolan..
Taking a closer look at the schedule, we still have the ugliest and toughest travel of any NHL team. A joke really, something that VAN has to endure every year.

Agreed, from a fellow western conference supporter.
If the Kings didnt travel so much they may have been 28th in the league instead of 30th.
Oilers have to go to the 'Nucks organization to finally hire a very capable GM in S. Tambellini. This guy is all class and knows his players very well. KL moves up as President in EDM.
The legendary S. Bowman goes to CHI as senior advisor, this move has to drive Leafs fans mad as they coveted Scotty for a number of years. Along with TPA, CHI has to be the most improved team so far, at least on paper.
I don't know that this move is an indictment of Lowe. The guy hasn't made many bad deals other than the Pronger deal. He shrewdly guided the team through tight financial times before the lockout.
Good to hear Tambellini is highly regarded, though.
If anything, this move proves even further that new owner Katz is committed to winning. A braintrust of Lowe, Tambellini and Prendergast is pretty damn solid, and it doesn't come cheaply.
Take care,
PK

That Tampa wordmark on the front may be the worst of the bunch.
Also, not sure what I think of the Thrashers wordmark that is supposed to be arched above the sweater number on the front?
While a part of me wishes the Devils would/could come out with a third, after seeing what a lot of teams end up with, it's probably best that they haven't.

I still think that K.L could and should have re-signed Smitty a couple of years back instead of fighting for a lousy couple of hundred thousand dollars.
Tambellini has been in the 'Nucks organization for the past 20 years as player and in the office and he's well regarded also in Team Canada where he has a lot of influence in decision makings.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but Lowe did the right thing with Smyth.
Do you think Smytty's output with Colorado justified his pay last year? I sure as hell don't. The years of trench warfare in the crease are starting to show with Smytty -- he's much older body-wise than his birth certificate reads.

No, he's been struggling since he left Oil country but he had his share of injuries as well. At the same token, I don't think D. Penner's numbers justify the four million plus he's getting either but he's younger than Smitty.
