Is it just ESPN's mobile site or is it a special iPhone only site?

It is specific to the iPhone. Big buttons for the touchscreen and it is easy to navigate.

So is it a special URL or does the iPhone just access it? The one I have on my iPhone is nice so I am guessing that is it.

If you look at the address it says m.espn.com/wireless/iphone or something along those lines.

FYI...iPhone firmware update 2.0.1 is up. Its a 250MB file. Hopefully it fixes the nitpick issues of 2.0 (laggy scrolling, etc.) Supposedly its just a bug fix update.

As you were...

It's been out since last week and it's as buggy as 2.0. I should know as it froze my phone for awhile. But apparently it has to do with the latest iTunes update. Just be cautious, a lot of people had problems since the latest firmware.

Yeah...I haven't noticed much of a difference in the week I've had it.

Kept my fingers crossed as I updated the latest firmware 2.02. The last one messed up my iphone but this time it went OK. It's supposed to improve 3G network coverage.

Personally, I haven't been affected as many others and overall I find myself using more WI-FI as it does the job just fine for me.

Wifi is faster than 3G.

It'll likely be faster than 4G too.

Last time I checked, you can't make calls over Wifi. Of course it does the job...data wise. It's the calls that are dropping out because of sh*tty tower transfers from 3G to EDGE. I love At&t. What a crappy network just in general. It's just too bad they are the only ones with the iPhone. Oh well...suck it up. I don't make that many calls anyway.

Again, no issues for me regarding calls either. Rogers is not any better but no call drops so far.

I have 5 bars of 3G in my condo (Thousand Oaks) and in my office (Oxnard), yet I still drop calls. So go figure. Wifey does as well. Not all the time...but in the 3 weeks I've had At&t...I've dropped more than the 10 years I had Verizon. Not happy about that.

Anyone try Truphone?

Surprised their VOIP client was approved.

Maybe Skype would be approved as well.

I'm thinking about getting an IPhone. I know that you can't edit Office files on the IPhone itself. However, can I transfer a .doc file from an e-mail attachment received on the IPhone to a laptop via ITunes, the USB port, or Bluetooth? (Assume that there are no wireless networks in the area.)

No, you can't...at least not with an official iPhone software package. If you go and Jailbreak the thing, you can, but then you void warranties.

Thanks...I may still take the plunge...debating between the IPhone and other ones with Office support. I think all of the cool features of the IPhone may outweigh that negative.

It certainly is a fantastic phone...even with it's shortcomings. Hopefully those are improved in the near future.

If you have an IMAP email account, wouldn't you be able to access the .doc you opened on the iPhone later on the laptop?

How about Exchange email accounts, do they store the emails (including attachments) on the server?

If they get Mobile Me working, it's suppose to keep all your email and other content in sync.

If you read Jared's post, you'd see that he doesn't have internet available on the laptop. Of course he could just email it to himself if he had internet access.
