Will EA be happy if Farve goes to another team since Madden 09 has him in Packer's gear.

If he goes on the Bears, the Bears probably get to the Superbowl. Oh no wait, they don't have a RB and WR's, nevermind.

Lose-lose situation for both parties. GB has all the rights not to release him, but everyone knows that if he stays he's not going to be warming the bench for long so, so much for their original plan. Favre would be a good fit for WAS. The sooner he gets traded the better.

Come on.

The guy is obviously better than the Aaron Rogers. Packers don't want him and they really don't want to trade him. So if the guy wants to play what is he to do?

Farve situation right now isn't on Farve. He did what all great player do who can't leave the game. This isn't like he's washed up. When you get your team to the playoffs, you still have some game.

The Packers GM should be fired. Farve should compete for the starting job. If the Packers refuse to give him the starting job even though he's clearly better than Rogers, then Goodell needs to come in and broker some sort of arrangement.

Farve might not be able to say goodbye but the Packers are not handling this with any respect for the game or for their QB who led them to two super bowls.

Packers have to move on at some point. I would think Rodgers' original rookie contract will expire after this season or next, unless they extended him.

So they have to find out whether he can cut it.

Favre apparently feels slighted by the way the team handled this.

It'll be an impossible situation if he stays as a backup though. Rodgers makes one or two mistakes and the fans will call for his head.

But the team has to make some long-term plans.

It's telling that they hired Ari Fleischer, probably in anticipation of rough public relations?

That is preposterous.

I have no problem with Goodell working as a mediator in the activation of Favre (not Farve, BTW), but an NFL commissioner NEVER should have a say in player personnel decisions if the decision doesn't involve a player who has violated Federal, state or NFL statutes.

There's simply no way Roger Goodell should be allowed to stop the Green Bay Packers from starting you or I at QB over Brett Favre if that's what Green Bay management wants to do.

I gotta disagree with JRod because it was Brett who went before the cameras and cried saying he was through with game. I never got the sense that the Packers were treating Brett like the way Miami did to Marino.

It wasn't until he pulled his sh*t that the Pack said we're going in a different direction. And hell no I wouldn't trade him within the division unless I got 2 number 1's in the deal.

As a Packer fan I could give a shitless where he goes. I was a fan of #4 until about a month ago. He has held the Packers front office and fans over a barrel for the last 4 years with his retirement talk. He does it and the front office acted accordingly. Packers draft Brohm and retool the offense around Rodgers. Now he pulls this s*** and blames the Packers because he got the "itch" to play?

If he wasn't 100% sure about retiring,don't make that announcement. He comes off as a selfish prick,f*** him.

Also, he has to be stupid to think they would trade him to a division rival.

When he gets traded to some s*** team, and whines mid season and wants to retire, I'm sure that 20 million deal the Packers were willing to give him for PR would be looking good.

I am not that old to remember Elvis in the 50s or 70s, but I guess this is how it must have felt when Elvis had to do those s*** Vegas shows in the 70s with those ridiculous bell bottoms and Jump suits. Same goes with Farve. All his glory is now dumbed down to some ugly ass football jumpsuit.

Minni was the frontrunner but they don't want to trade a guy that's going to haunt them down the road. But the top management cheese-heads also promised Rodgers at training camp that he would be their starter. And if you look at Favre's numbers last season, how could #4 warm the bench? Let him start the season, tell Rodgers that you screwed up and move on.

Moss forced his way out of Minnesota and then ended up with the Pats, probably not by accident.

When Joe Montana went to KC, again, he picked the situation, IIRC.

The Packers have to play Rogers or they'll lose him. His contract is up after next year, and there is no way he'd resign with a team that has made promise after promise only to cozy up to Favre time and again. Favre has maybe two years left, so they'd lose Rogers and Favre at the same time and be completely screwed going forward.

Favre will probably be better than Rogers this year, but that is mainly because Favre's "iron man" record meant Rogers doesn't have any game time. Favre played way too many meaningless minutes the past few seasons when Rogers could have gotten some snaps.

They should just pay him and send him home like the Bucs did to Keyshawn a few years back. I'd love to see him pull a Jake Plummer if the Packers send him to some crapass team. Make him pay to retire, and let the public understand he's a total heel.

Personally, I think that GB should show some balls and trade Favre to the Vikings for a 2nd round pick.

I am sick of the whole story. I almost wish that Terrell Owens would do something 'newsworthy'.
