It's been my default browser for years and I don't have a lot of add ons installed.

Basically the English and Spanish dictionary. I prefer the RSS feeds method much better than in IE.

Have Firefox but mostly use it on sites which Safari has problems with.

I heard FF 3.0 is the fastest browser out there but there are a couple of things I'd miss from Safari, including rendering PDFs in-line rather than having to open them in a helper app.

Never looked for plug-ins for any browser.

I've had FF as my default for at least the last 2-3 years...love it.

No problem, dude.

Sage is a simple, yet very effective built-in RSS reader. I love it:

Snapback for Firefox:

Can anyone find something that replaces or hides the menu? (file, bookmarks, etc.)

this one https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3895
looks pretty close to what i mean but the description seems to be not favorable. Hiding those options and having one bookmark button would work.

Tiny Menu rules. I LOVE it:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1455

Adds more real estate to your screen, too!

Smart Bookmarks Bar also gives you a ton more space for extra bookmarks in your bookmark bar. Another irreplaceable add-on for me:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4072

Take care,
PK

I like it too, but have found a few sites that don't quite work the same way they did in vers 2 (mostly those involving streaming audio).

So Fasterfox isn't needed in version 3? It said it wasn't compatible when I installed FF3.

What's this new feature called tags all about in FF3? What circumstances would you use it?

Do a complete reboot on your machine and try again. That usually does the trick.

Good luck,
PK

You have any more killer add-ons you are using?

JRod:

I've added a couple recently:

Morning Coffee
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2677

Morning Coffee saves all of the Web sites that you read on a daily basis, usually over your morning coffee (!), into a one-button stop on your browser taskbar. Instead of opening a bookmark folder or each of the sites individually, just click on the coffee mug icon, and they all open simultaneously in individual tabs. A very efficient way to start and complete your daily morning reading. Yes, DSP is in my Morning Coffee list! :)

Read It Later
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7661

Read It Later saves Web pages into a one-button stop that allows you to ... er ... read them later. It's essentially a virtual magazine rack for reading material that can be set up to be read online or offline. Sure, you can do the same thing with a bookmarks folder, but I don't like to gum up my bookmarks with material that I'm going to discard once read. But all you need to do is click on a checkmark in the address bar to automatically save that page to your Read It Later file. The file is easily accessed by clicking on a book icon that appears at the end of your bookmarks browser bar.

Not sure if I've ever mentioned Googlepedia as an add-on, but it's absolutely indispensable for me. It splits your Google search results into two panes, with the results on the left and the relevant Wikipedia entry for your search topic on the right. It's killer; I use it multiple times every day:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2517

Also, there's an updated version of Adblock Plus, with updated filterset lists.

Take care,
PK

Two cool add ons for FF3. 8)

1) Flash Block (disables annoying flash ads)
2) Fire.fm (create your free radio station with no commercial interruption)

Tiny Menu rules. I LOVE it:

I just put Firefox 3.05 on my work computer, and Tiny Menu has helped it look the way I want. Then I customized the Toolbar to add a Bookmarks button, but the Bookmarks list stays up there when I open a new tab and click on the new tab rather than disappearing like it does in IE. I have to click the X in the top-right corner to get rid of it.

What I'd really like is for the BlackJapan theme to be updated to work with 3.05. I've stuck with Firefox 2 at home up till now because I didn't want to lose that theme, but now they're not updating Firefox 2 anymore.
