Finished my first franchise season with a 4 games to 1 victory over the Red Sox in the world series. Mets are always over-juiced in video games. Anyway, off-season is my favorite time... mixing it up, harvesting the free-agent market. Didn't land any real superstars, although I did sign the Bonds stand-in to a one year deal to DH, pinch hit, and occasionally play left. Got booed heavily in his first spring training at-bat. Nice.

Game was still feeling a bit too easy, so I think I'm going to do season two with all visual indicators off. Classic pitching, no cursor, strike zone off, no fielding markers, either. Should be interesting... especially in the outfield. I changed the camera to 'high' to get more visual time on the ball in the air, but I'm going to have to be super careful about angles of pursuit... the first semi-line drive hit to me I went after very aggressively, like I always do when the marker's there to tell me where it's gonna go... mis-read it just enough that it went by me. Should keep me a bit more conservative and maybe let some drop in from time to time. The CPU offense still needs all the help it can get.

Still playing this on the psp when I have time.

I have changed some sliders..

CPU power +1
CPU fielders reaction time +1

Human contact -1

Injuries for both +1

Still plays a great game of baseball!

Played game number 162 of my season last night, a 9-8 win over the White Sox. I finished 76-86. Unfortunately, probably not that much different from how the R/L Tribe might finish. I came in third place, 25 games behind the Tigers, one game ahead of the Twins.

I can't believe I played all 162 games so quickly. I started my season the night I got the game back in early March, on All-Star, default. It was like reading a book you can't put down... the hot streaks, cold streaks, injuries, juggling the lineup and roster, variety in games from a pitcher's duel one day to a slugfest the next. The season just flew by.

I think this is my favorite video game of all time. :D

After winning the WS with the Mets I got crazy bored with this game for a while (outside of an online league). Started a RTTS career as a starting pitcher and have gotten way back into it. It's a unique feeling, counting on the fielders, who basically suck in AA.

I just don't like fielding in RTTS, feels like a waste of time. So pitching's been good, and maybe I'll try one as a catcher down the road.
