I haven't played ASB 2004 since last April, and searching through the OS boards for these questions is not working. Here's what I need to know:
- Does ASB use contact/power swings, or just a single button?
- Will ASB have any form of power meter for pitching, like MVP has?
Couple of quick ASB questions

Re: Couple of quick ASB questions
On 3d cursor batting you can change from power to contact. That is the only hitting option that uses power vs. contact.matthewk wrote:I haven't played ASB 2004 since last April, and searching through the OS boards for these questions is not working. Here's what I need to know:

The cpu pitchers walked me at near realistic amounts last year, more than any of the other games to come out this year so far.
The pinpoint control is still a question that everyone wants answered. However, last year, with the pitching aids and vibration off, I actually made enough mistakes in my control that I walked batters and left pitches over the plate. The problem was the batting AI just wasn't tough enough. The beta impressions at OS indicate that the pinpoint control has been improved to some degree, probably not immensely, but I don't think the tester ever tried the hardest difficulty levels, which are supposed to be more challenging than the top level of last year
Hit variety seems to also have been improved judging by the videos. However, some people seem to think there are still too many fly balls. But this might depend on what batting option you use.

Thanks for the answers. I'm glad I can use zone hitting with a single button. I've always hated the power/contact method.
No meters on pitching doesn't bother me. I thought maybe they'd have it since MVP does, and ESPN look sot be adding it as well.
My biggest concern is the flyballs. Last year, that and the zone hitting bug ruined the game for me. From what I've read this has been addressed, but I guess we will know for sure soon enough.
