Ended up getting the last one at the store on 75th Street. I was told I need to activate it on iTunes but didn't know that it was down. I guess I'll find out how cool this thing is later in the day.

Verizon is suppose to get the BB Thunder later this year.

But a couple of years from now, every carrier is suppose to be using LTE.

So they might get it. Or unlocked iPhones may work on Verizon's LTE network.

Of course, then Verizon might not have the better coverage as it has with CDMA.

I've been looking forward to the thunder and the actual CLICK touchscreen...which should help with the touchscreen keyboard...although I'm not completely sold and supposedly the first prototypes were less than impressive. Still hate touchscreens on cell phones...but they do look cool.

Verizon blew this , it's their own fault. Apple actually came to them first for the iphone service provider deal but they didnt take it. Then they went to ATT to cut the deal.

I think there is a federal law going into affect end of this year that makes every wireless cell phone service offer the same phones to all consumers. This would get Verizon into selling iphones but I don't think they can provide the service.

That would only apply to Sprint/Nextel and Verizon as there is a completely different technology (CDMA vs. GSM) in the Verizon Phones as opposed to the other carriers (At&t, T-Mobile, etc.).

Thanks.

It's decent...but not an Iphone. All of those "dumb" phones, really don't compare to the IPhone...the touch screens are all terrible and they are severely limited. That's why I have hope for the Thunder...BB's supposed answer that is exclusive to Verizon. I have reservations of course.

Do I want a BB?

I've been satisfied with my LG EnV and am now eligible to upgrade. I was looking at the EnV2 and the Samsung Glide, etc., but it seems cool people have a BB. :) The thing is, I'll never use all it's features.

After probably 50 attempts I finally activated it. Holy s*** is all I can say. I'm blown away at how cool this thing is.

It's gonna cost you 30 bucks more per month to add the Blackberry Data that Verizon forces you to have. So that's a big jump in cost if you're not used to it.

If you want a touch screen device, I suggest the LG Dare (Review Here)...if not, the Env2. My wife had the Glyde and the Voyager and wasn't happy with either. Now she has the Env2 and my bro has the Dare. Both are great phones along the same lines as your Env (which my wife had previously).

Yes it is amazing. Basically you can run your whole life in that thing, and for the most part anywhere , anytime. It's really Futuristic even though it's the norm these days.

I love my Curve on Verizon and I loved my Pearl on Verizon previous to that. They are phenomenal messaging devices. If you need email, they cannot be beat...no, not even by the iPhone. That's what I use mine for, so there isn't a temptation to switch to the "slicker" iPhone at all.

I don't want to totally hijack this thread, so PM if you have specific questions about either phone...I've used them both A TON.

The MLB app is pretty impressive. Ankiel had a 2 run shot in the top of the 3rd & the highlight was there a few batters later (prob 4 minutes). Great video quality, too. Good stuff.

I highly, highly recommened these screen protectors. I've got one on my iPod touch and it's phenomenal. Limits fingerprints and doesn't distort the screen much at all. They are awesome. They have crystal protectors as well if you don't mind the fingerprints but want the 100% clarity. I personally prefer the anti-glare feel and no fingerprints. LOL.

The coolness wears off quickly!

Then the usefulness kicks in! :D

I'm assuming they will fit iPhone 1.0 also? 3G has the same screen size. I'll check them out. Thanks.

They have two different "models" to coincide with the 3G and the original. I'd be sure to get the correct one...just in case. Screen size may be identical, but surface area may be slightly different (and the boxwave covers everything, even around the home button).

The MLB At Bat one is indeed awesome. I will be in heaven if the NFL and NHL do the same thing.

2 free apps worth checking out are Shazam and Aurora Feint. Shazam is a music recognition program. If you hear a song on tv or the radio and want to know who it is start up Shazam and let it listen to the song for 12 seconds and it will tell you all of the info about the song. I don't think it would work for some more obscure stuff but it's still cool.

Aurora Feint is an amazingly good free game. It reminds me a little of Puzzle Quest. Highly recommended especially since it is free.
