Thanks TC!TCrouch wrote:I think they have to be on your friends list, first of all. Then you go to your Paint Booth, hit RB for EA Locker, then RB again for friends. Go to the friend you want to download a car from and then grab the file. If there's a way to do it outside of the friends list, I don't know how.

You guys ok with me getting my paws on some of your sweet creations?
Sure, but I think I only have a couple in there now. Sadly, EA limits the number of active Locker files to like 7 or something...so if you put anything else up that's new, you need to take something else down.
All I have left is my MGD Cup car, and the matching Younique Automotive cars for my brother and I.

What I've been doing is going into the Layers menu at the top of the screen, selecting Import From File and finding the relevant picture on my hard drive. Made myself a Jagermeister car in the style of the old orange Porsche sportscars that way last night and it worked fine.Rodster wrote:I went to EA's website and downloaded the Paint.net program along with the file. I opened the file and i've just been going thru the basics. I have some questions.
2) How do you put images on the car?
As far as I can work out, the cars that can be made in paint.net are all going to have to be fairly simple from a design point, but it's still possible to knock together something half decent.

Yeah, I just got the game yesterday. I only spent like 10 minutes throwing the DSP car together. It's not that great yet. I'll post a picture when I'm happy with it. By the way, I was loving every minute of this game last night. I saw some of the flaws Leebo noted but I was having too much fun to care. This game is bliss with the wireless wheel.Inuyasha wrote:scoop I saw your dsp car online.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

That's exactly my take on it. It has some AI warts and some rough edges, but compared to previous console NASCAR efforts, it's golden.ScoopBrady wrote:By the way, I was loving every minute of this game last night. I just bought Mix's wireless wheel, Terry, so I may actually be able to keep 'er off the wall and out of everyone else's exhaust next time. This wheel is SO much better than that other crapper...TCrouch wrote:That's exactly my take on it. Feels plenty quick enough to me, Fletch; if your buddy has played since the PSOne days he'll remember NASCAR 98, 99 and 2000 and how terrifyingly slow they felt (or their PAL versions did anyway - I'm assuming NTSC was the same), and this isn't anything like that. 190 into a wall can take you out of the race but won't always, depending on the angle and severity of the impact. It feels like a pretty good game/real world compromise to me but your mileage might vary.fletcher21 wrote:How is the sense of speed? Also how is the damage model? Does 190 into a wall take you out of the race like it should. or can you bounce back from it?

I can answer this question (HI I'm new here!). Yes performance points affect custom cars AND real cars. I've tested this various ways and it's a definite yes, both for offline and online.webdanzer wrote: 1)Online, we know that they affect the performance of custom cars. Do we know for sure whether or not they affect the performance of the in game pro cars? I've seen some people claim they do, and others that they don't.

Sorry, but your buddy's got a screw loose. Best sense of speed in a loooong time.

Compared to GRID I think that the sense of speed let's say is a bit different but it is definitely there.fletcher21 wrote:How is the sense of speed? A buddy who has played every Nascar game since the ps1 days said the sense of speed this year is lacking badly...

Nice cars pdc_iccc! The general lee style is sweeeeeeeeeeet especially on the truck.
Side note
I think that Terry needs to put on a clinic for the rest of us so we can drive as fast as he does. I went online last night and won my first race at Bristol (8 cars) due to total utter luck as I was in seventh going into the final few laps but someone up front got loose, spun out and pretty much killed everyone except for 7th and 8th place who managed to squeeze by and get into 1st and 2nd before the yellow flag came out and then I just rolled across the finish line in 1st place. Totally unexpected but I wasn't complaining

Grats, Mac! Oval racing is such a different type of racing than most games...a lot of guys may find it's quite a learning curve to get fast. For me, I'm the reverse...road racing games are tough for me, but I've been an oval racer all my life. I'll run with you any time
A guy at OS asked me to do Cole Trickle's Mello Yello Car from Days of Thunder, so here she is

I was just thinking about Cole Trickle as I was playing today when I realized I am unable to pass low because I can't hold a low, fast line underneath the CPU cars. Thus 'I always go high!'
Yep, I'm terribly offended if anybody likes a car I make and wants to use it

Wow, I can't wait to give this a shot. Vacation is over tomorrow so I hope to pick it up in a few days. You're already on my friends list Terry, so if you feel the urge to create a USN car, I'll be sure to snag it!
I'm also strangely interested in the Deadliest Catch game...
