Rock Band - Impressions...

Jimmy Buffett this week, with Margaritaville, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and Volcano. New masters done for the game, as supposedly Buffett is a big fan.
Not sure how great these will be instrumentally or anything, but GREAT for recognition and sing-along purposes. I think overall, Rock Band still needs a few more releases like that. I mean, by myself I enjoy drumming to songs in foreign languages and all (Euro pack), but when I play with friends/family they want to sing/play songs they know.

Yes, while I'm not the biggest Buffett fan, I think you'd be hard-pressed to come up with a more iconic three than those. Nice to see them drop them all at once. I'll probably pick these up as my first RB DLC in a while for the reason you mentioned.webdanzer wrote:Jimmy Buffett this week, with Margaritaville, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and Volcano. Indeed they were changed (at about 3:00 of video). Song looks fun enough to play and sure to be a popular choice for singing--looking like this pack is a buy for me.webdanzer wrote:Apparently the 'Volcano' lyrics were tweaked a bit:

Also, cheeseburgers in paradise is noticeably spruced up with electric guitar and extra flourishes.

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to post that incredibly in-depth response! You've given us much to ponder! In return for your kindness in deigning to comment, at the very next daybreak I promise to lobby my local congressperson to enact legislation to prevent animals who may have at one time or another been the object of wagering from being sold once or many times to person or persons in or out of the country say in Mexico or Canada where they are then sold for food, which, of course, is far greater a crime than if they, say, worked on a farm before their doom, but ultimately all citizens of this united states when they have matured enough to reach the same conclusion as you, Jack, need to put an end to crazy Canadians with boltguns ruthlessly slaughtering veterans of triple stakes races. Our very way of life depends upon it!JackB1 wrote: yawn.
There apparently is a code out there that gives you two of the three Disturbed tracks for free:

Enter 1lfa89 and click submit.
Enter the code you receive on Live for the songs."
I'm actually pretty impressed with how they spruced up the Buffett songs for rock band. Mostly pretty simple, still, but fun to play with varied patterns, at least on drums.

I guess I got in too late as I wasn't able to get it to work. Thanks for the heads up though Web.webdanzer wrote:There apparently is a code out there that gives you two of the three Disturbed tracks for free:

Now you post this. I already bought the Disturbed pack. It was only $3 though so it's not the end of the world. Besides, the album was free.webdanzer wrote:There apparently is a code out there that gives you two of the three Disturbed tracks for free:

Buffet's just not my cup of tea. Though I admit that Volcano looks fun to play on guitar.

Gives me that much more incentive to buy Guitar Hero 4 and all of its equipment (DRUMS)webdanzer wrote:Hate to triple post, but EA support for rockband is now enforcing the 60 day limit on warranty replacement. With such crappy equipment, they really need to keep it open longer than that. Do a RROD deal or something...
I have had great luck with ALL of my guitars from GH.

Very good week!!! I did buy the Working Man cover, and I'm going to buy the master too! Funny that I'd purchase two copies of a song before any of a couple of dozen songs that I don't have!vader29 wrote:Songs announced for Tuesday July 8th, all masters:

I thought the Weezer pack was goofy fun too, but I hadn't bought much else recently.
The Who next week though!!!
So, where is everyone at in their Rock Band careers? Have you finished? Are you stuck?
Right now, I'm pretty much mainly just a drummer, except when I'm playing with others and we all switch around. I'm through expert career mode up to that damn Fall Out Boy song. I've finished all of the others on that tier, but I've failed DOA so many times now that I've pretty much stopped trying to beat it, maybe giving it a halfhearted try once a week or so, but mostly focusing on DLC and improving my scores elsewhere.
Man, I hate that song.
LOVE the game still, though!

I have played as a drummer 95% of the time and am thinking of putting the rest of the equipment on Ebay.webdanzer wrote:So, where is everyone at in their Rock Band careers? Have you finished? Are you stuck?

I love the game, but haven't played much lately due to other games grabbing my time, but I really want to get back into it. I have the Cars album to try and also all these great recent DLC's.
I don't know if this makes me one of those swept up in the casual game craze, but 15 minutes of Rock Band can sweep away the stress of a day and put a bigger smile on my face more quickly than any other game I've played ever, and so far it has amazing staying power too.
Wii games are good for that 15 minute smile too, but for me, they don't have nearly the same longevity.

I haven't played in about two months, mostly because of The Show, playing GH III, and having a kid. But it's also because I got stuck on the Hard difficulty. I cannot get past "Enter Sandman" on guitar -- having to stretch to hit the blue and orange buttons on the main riff is really hard for me. And I am woefully stuck on "Vasoline" on the Hard drum tour. I have played it over and over again and failed, and in practice mode I lose it when I get to 90% speed. I just can't get my foot to play the bass pedal on the right beats.
I did finish the Medium drum tour and got at least four stars on everything except for a couple of the crazy songs like "Won't Get Fooled Again."
I am going to pick up the two new Rush tracks and will also definitely be getting a lot if not all of those Who songs.
