I'm telling you, this game is a blast online. Most of the problems are with the AI, and they all but disappear against another human. Seems like EA fixed the earlier online problems, as I just finished a thrilling 3-2 loss with the Brewers against the Tigers. Amazing, but this was a random matchup and someone actually took the Tigers and actually played the game by the books. He wins it in the bottom of the ninth with a bases-loaded single. Shouldn't have gotten to that stage but I beaned him intentionally earlier in the game and was under a warning. Then a slider gets away from my reliever in the ninth and he gets ejected, without having a warm arm in the bullpen. Fun stuff. I'm really looking forward to Pac's league now.
No lag, no glitches through nine.
Wohoo - MVP PS2 Online Now Works!

Blublub that's great to hear! I look forward to some online games of MVP.
I've played a couple online games of MLB and they wre a lot of fun, but the menu system is very clunky. You need to pause at the right time, then go through a couple menus, just to see how your guys in the pen are doing. I kept pining for the slickness of MVP.
But the gameplay was fun. Still, I really want to try MVP online as well. AI issues are less of a concern for me since I would rather play a person, so if this game is smooth online, it may be getting a lot of play from me.
Although the lefty power issue (I happen to believe it is real, from my own experience) could really be too much of a problem. We'll see.

I hope it works but I'm hearing elsewhere that people are having problems downloading the roster (it keeps making them download the roster over and over again and locks up the PS2).
Some people point to an announcement on the EA Sports Nation website as the date when online is officially suppose to launch:
http://www.easportsnation.com/games/mvp2004/home.jsp
But this looks more like some kind of a promo for 3/27 and 3/28, not that they're promising to have it fixed by then.
Be curious if people who've been having problems before are seeing any improvement over several games, not just a sample size of one game?

wco,
For what it's worth, I've played a majority of my MVP games online and never thought it was that bad, even when it was first released. I did have one disconnect last week, but the last few games have been great.
Pac and I decided to start the league next weekend to coincide with EA's online event. I'm assuming that the roster updates and misc online bugs will be fixed by then. Honestly, I think the league would've been fine to start this week. Most of the guys in the league have been having a great time playing MVP ladder games against each other with no problems at all.
