It's easier when you already believe you're going to hell.
Honestly, I don't get the reactions to Sex in the City. I don't like it, but it's hardly the worst thing on TV. I'd rather watch four shrill women at least talking about sex than anything involving Jim Belushi or members of the Miami Dolphins doing the cha cha.

Former members...
Yet another reason the Dolphins will be picking in the top 3 again next year. I think they have a case of Bad Tuna in Miami.
Best explanation for the show I've heard is this. The show was created by gay men, writers. But the country was not ready for stories about 4 gay men and their promocious ways so they got 4 manly females to play the parts.
IMO, this show has destroyed a generation of women. I know some people I've worked with who actually looked up to the show as a role model. yes, they were miserable ppl just like the characters on the show. And yes, they screwed up good relationships since they wanted their man to be sooo perfect and they acted so above them.
I can't wait to see this movie, I really want to but with my time limitations I probably can't. I just want to see how pathetic these girls lives turn out and see the social ramifications in real life. I guess it's like a mad science experiment.

She looks like Madonna would look if you stretched the latter's face lengthways.
And that's not a good look.
"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."
well good news. some of the girls from work are going out to see the movie tomorrow night so I will be joining them. I'll post some spoilers tomorrow. So far everyone is saying the movie is fantastic.

The LA times gave it a surprisingly good review. So much so that I might consider renting it one day, maybe.

Well I saw it with some girls at work and some guys from HR.

Movie was very entertaining! The theater was packed! Surprised that there were tons of teenagers there. Thought it was rated R. eh. but Tons of series fans there, they were doing like inside stuff like a star trek convention. Like during the previews, a group of guys in the theater started chanting the show's HBO opening song in unison. It was very good how they did it, can't really describe it. da da da dum da da dum dum da da da dat dat etc......
Then when some of the characters came on the screen, ppl yelled stuff. Like Samantha they all yelled WHORE! it was funny. But it was mostly the men doing all this while the women in the theater mostly just reacted to the movie. Not that the men were mocking the film, but they were big fans and I guess sort of complementing the movie.
anyway spoilers...
beginning : they do a intro on each persons story if you are not familiar with the show. Where they left off 5 years ago.
Samantha : in L.A. with smitty , divided 50/50 w/ nyc. She's not getting enough sex since the BF is at work so she's tempted to have sex w/ the neighbor. At the end she breaks up with him.
Carrie : she goes out with big. Then they are going to get married, everyone is happy , have a wedding rehearsal. While this happens, steve and miranda broke up but Steve shows up at the rehearsal surprising Miranda. They step out to talk, then Miranda gets pissed, storms back in, and tells BIG YOU SHOULDN'T GET MARRIED w/ carrie , iIT NEVER WORKS (what a b*tch!) (I actually know 2 Miranda type girls at my workplace so it was very perfect how they got this character type right.). BIG gets afraid , since it's his 3rd marriage, and it's a huge wedding, big designers, big photoshoots, and huge wedding in the papers etc... So he walks out the day of the wedding to call it off. So he came to pickup carrie to get away but she is preoccupoied and she is like wtf standing at the alter. Then she calls him and was devestated. (we all were crying at this point in the theater). Then the 4 girls all go on the planned honeymoon in Mexico.
Miranda : Steve cheated one time on Miranda bec she didn't give it up to Steve for 6 months due to being busy or tired. So he had to get it somewhere else. She moved out and moved to Chinatown. 5 months ahead they get back together. Then she tells Carrie like 6 months later how she f***ed up her wedding and Carrie is pissed.
Charlotte : she had a s*** attack since she drank some Mexican water and took a dump in her pants on the honeymoon. It was very funny. they made fun of her bush too. Charlotte gets pregnant and has a baby along w/ the adopted baby. She runs into big at a restaurant while she's pregnant, and Big recognizes her and wants to talk but she says he's a jagoff and starts yelling at him.
ending :
Big then proposed later in the movie, and marries Carrie in a city hall wedding. Samantha gets a birthday party for her 50th.
ONE WARNING : SEX SCENES : if you're into mature old women sex, then you'll get a boner. If you're not, it's pretty disgusting. There is some Male Penis nudity. Not my thing..
All and All pretty good. It wasn't as cynical and depressing as the regular tv show is. I hate Miranda now more than ever.
